Well, we had Brad Keselowski win the first race in the chase... called it... but nobody that is really in this game picked Brad, although Jimmie did do really well, so lets see how our actually pretty diverse picks shook up the standings... and remember the bottom 2 get eliminated, not just 1!... and the (+_) represents how many bonus points you have through the session (lower numbers win tie-breakers):
Roushfenwayguy (ghost picks)- 93 (+6) (The only one with the winner and a driver in the top 5, too bad I'm not in the game...)
1.) Fsu1dogs- 88 (+4) (Who needs that bonus anyways?)
2.) Tenacfan- 81 (+2)
3.) Sfrye- 81 (+6) (The closest to hitting the bonus, Truex just needed to climb one more spot.)
NON-PODIUM 75 CLUB
4.) Beardawg- 80 (+12) (6 in handicaps, 3 for the bonus, 1 for Jr., 2 for better driver, tons of bonuses here.)
5.) Bradman- 79 (+3) (Wow, should have switched bonus drivers, or positions with Sfrye.)
6.) Floridawhite- 73 (+2)
ILL55INI- 73 (+2)
8.) River Rat- 64 (+4) (Once again Edwards dissapoints and brings the Rat down with him.)
Well, of all our contestants, River Rat was the big loser, but less than 20 points seperates second from last, and less than 10 from second to 6th, so the standings are very tight heading into New Hampshire, and one bad driver could do you in. Also just a reminder to Florida and ILL55 that both of you CANT pick the same exact drivers this week, or else if you guys finish tied for 6th it will make elimination so that Bradman will be eliminated, so don't be rude ILL55 and pick the same picks as Bradman after he does please.
Segment 1: Make any choices you want as far as drivers go, you can choose the same drivers for both races if you really want to. Segment one is during weeks 1-2 of the chase, just as long as a regular segment in the game. HOWEVER, the bottom 2 will be eliminated this segment, not just one.
Handicap lists are revamped, and will stick for segments 1 and 2 of the chase (I doubt much will chase for segment 3 though). The lists have also been increased to include one more driver in each bracket, which means that the top 13 are taken into considering, or in other words all non-chase drivers.
+2 Handicap: 13th-20th
Kyle Busch (new to handicap list)
Brian Vickers (new to handicap list, avg. finish puts him at 14th)
Mark Martin (new to handicap list, avg. finish puts him at 15th)
Carl Edwards (new to handicap list)
Ryan Newman (new to handicap list)
+4 Handicap: 21st- 28th
Jeff Burton (+2 to +4 handicap)
Jamie McMurray (+2 to +4 handicap)
Juan Pablo Montoya (+2 to +4 handicap)
+6 Handicap: 29th- 35th
David Ragan (+4 to +6 handicap)
David Reutimann (32nd by avg finish)
Sam Hornish Jr. (takes over A.J.'s spot)
+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th
The bonus I am doing for this race is going to be a new bonus for this year. The bonus will be to choose a driver that you think will finish in the exact position that they qualify in... or at least close to it. The bonus amounts will be exact replicas of last segment. The issue with this one is that not only could there be no driver that finish in their exact qualifying position, but this is obviously much harder to predict. This also has to do with picks after qualifying, so you can always make a pick now, and come back after qualifying and change it. Also the driver can't be a +6 or +8 handicap driver.
If your pick lands exactly on that driver, you get +5 bonus points.
If your pick lands within 2 positions of where that driver finishes, you get +3 bonus points.
If your pick lands within 5 positions of where that driver finishes, you get +2 bonus points.
If your pick lands within 10 positions of where that driver finishes, you get +1 bonus point.
Any more than 10, and no bonus points for you.
For New Hampshire, well I'd be stupid not to go with 5 time Jimmie Johnson, and might as well go with Keselowski again. For my bonus, I'm going to choose Clint Bowyer, but that is subject to change if he qualifies too good or too bad.
Roushfenwayguy (GHOST PICKS)- Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski (bonus: Clint Bowyer)
