RFG's Eliminator Chase Race 4

Well, Tony Stewart finally tanked, and Jimmie did well, things are finally looking more normal, although Kurt Busch, he usually struggles at Dover to say the least and he won... nobody thought of this unthinkable result, including fan of Kurt, myself. Anyways lets see the standings that will go on for 3, not 2 weeks!

PODIUM (85 CLUB)

1.) ILL55INI-            89 (+3 bonus) (Well, the bonus broke the tie... but it went the wrong way in my opinion.)

2.) Roushfenwayguy- 88 (+2 bonus) (Couldn't do much better w/o Kurt Busch.)

3.) D2Moo-              87 (+3 bonus)

Sfrye-                     87 (+2 bonus)

Bored at Work-        87 (+5 bonus) (Only one to hit the bonus right on the nose, and it was a nice even number.)

NON-PODIUM 80 CLUB

6.) Foreplus-           84 (+2 bonus)

7.) Fogducker-        83 (+4 bonus)

8.) River Rat-          82 (+3 bonus)

Well, a very good week to say the least, everything we could wish except for mixing up the standings, as in 7 points seperates first from last, therefore is no danger zone just yet, but maybe Kansas will be able to change that.

Segment Two will last 3 races, weeks 29-31, TWO people will be eliminated from the game at the end of the segment. You must use AT LEAST 4 different drivers, and you can't keep the same driver for all three races, meaning you only have to switch one driver out each week. (Refer to segment one rules for ties.)

Segment Three will last 5 races, week 32-36, THE WINNER will be declared, and so 5 people are virtually being eliminated. Every week you must pick different drivers, meaning you must choose 10 UNIQUE DRIVERS. (Incase of tie, the tiebreaker will be whoever got the most points through this segment WITHOUT HANDICAPS OR BONUSES, if there still is a tie, then the person who has the highest scoring most recent week will be declared the winner. If there still is a tie, then whoever made the picks first each week will win, because someone is obviously cheating Tongue out.)

Bonuses will be given for each race.

And now for the bonuses:

Bored at Work, for picking 7 winning drivers will get a +3 bonus throughout the chase, congratulations!

Now for the newly revised handicap lists, these will last through the first five weeks of the chase.

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

Bonus for this week is very similar to last week's, just guess how many LEAD CHANGES there are throughout the race, this is not simply leaders, but all the lead changes from lap to lap. Scoring is as followed:
+5 exact amount, +4 within one of exact amount, +3 within 2-3 of amount, +2 within 4-5 of amount, +1 within 6-10 of amount. Lot of lenience here, so most people should get at least one point.

For me, I'm going to keep Johnson, and I'll also go with Jeff Gordon, who can't stop getting top 5s here.

Roushfenwayguy- Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson (20 lead changes)

Foreplus- Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch (24 lead changes)

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 3

Well, another win for Tony, and another HUH? for Jimmie Johnson, the chase sure has been unpredictable so far, to go along with only 3 cautions, which everyone overguessed on. Anyways, lets see which one of you guys is eliminated, because I know I actually am, for the first time since this game began Cry.

PODIUM

1.) Fogducker-         139 (71) (no bonus) (+3)

2.) D2Moo-              137 (69) (+2 bonus) (+2)

ELIMINATED

9.) Spikesgator-        113 (45) (+1 bonus) (-7) (His faith on JGR finally got the best of him.)

10.) Tigersman-        112 (47) (no bonus) (-4) (Should have picked Tony Stewart again.)

Well, if that doesn't show you the power of these bonus points, I don't know what will, 3 points was all Tigersman needed to move from last to safe, and only 2 for Spikes, hopefully you guys think twice now about your bonuses, as I sure am glad I guess 8, because I almost went with 11.

Spikesgator, for picking 6 winning drivers, will get a +3 bonus for the first two segments in the chase! ELIMINATED

Bonus for this week, guess how many drivers finish ON THE LEAD LAP, due to this being a short track, this should be fun to see how many get lapped, so there is no better time for this bonus than now. Scoring is as followed:
+5 exact amount, +4 within one of exact amount, +3 within 2-3 of amount, +2 within 4-5 of amount, +1 within 6-10 of amount. Lot of lenience here, so most people should get at least one point.

For me, it's Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson, I'm also going with 15 drivers on the lead lap.

Roushfenwayguy- Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson (15 lead lap)

Spikesgator-

RFG's Eliminator Chase Race 2

Well, Tony Stewart won his first race of the season, what better time than the first race of the chase? Unfortunately, most people here didn't think of that theory, except for one, Tigersman... but Denny Hamlin tore up that winner pick, anyways, lets see how the standings are after the first race:

ILL55INI-            80 (+2 bonus) (Only one with two drivers in the top 10, it shows.)

Spikesgator-       69 (+2 bonus)

Foreplus-            69 (no bonus)

D2Moo-              68 (+1 bonus)

Fogucker-           68 (+3 bonus)

Tigersman-         65 (+0 bonus)

Sfrye-                 65 (+2 bonus)

Roushfenwayguy- 63 (+1 bonus)

River Rat-            56 (+0 bonus)

Bored at Work-     49 (+2 bonus) (Used every bit of his bonuses to try and stay in the hunt for staying alive.)

Segment One will last 2 races, weeks 27-28, TWO people will be eliminated from the game at this point. Any drivers are allowed both weeks. (Incase of tie, the tie will carry into segment two, lineups will not be allowed to be identical.)

For the bonus this week, try to predict how many caution flags there will be throughout the race, the exact answer gets +5, off by 1 gets you +3, off by 2-3 gets +2, and 4-5 gets +1.

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 1

Well, we have finally reached the chase, but not without a casualty, however, we had two people with the winner, ILL55INI, and Spikes, which desperately needed it, and this will get him more bonus points in the chase... that is if he survived... let's see who made it and who is going to be left behind:

PODIUM

1.) ILL55INI-             175 (92) (+6) (Cruises to the lead with 1 point off the best score possible.)

2.) Roushfenwayguy- 164 (80) (+4)

Tigersman-               164 (73) (0)

NON-PODIUM 150 CLUB

4.) Bored at Work-     163 (79) (+2)

5.) Sfrye-                  160 (75) (-1)

6.) River Rat-            151 (73) (+2)

>140 CLUB

7.) Spikesgator-        146 (83) (+3) (Got the winner to salvage an average of 73 points per race, very good for most other weeks, this week its enough to get by.)

8.) D2Moo-               142 (49) (-7) (Jimmie Johnson dropped D2Moo like a bullet, but Johnson likely won't let that happen again come the chase, that or Kurt and Jimmie are going to do something fierce.)

SPARED CLUB

9.) Foreplus-             140 (62) (-1) (Ambrose didn't end up being the handicap driver of choice this week.)

Fogducker-               140 (54) (-6) (A tie for last, on the week we enter the chase, the week I announced the rule of keeping ties, wow this worked like clockwork.)

So it figures that we keep all 10 people for the chase, just like what happened last year, and so these two weeks basically ended up being for nothing other than collecting wins, kind of like what was going on in the actual pre-chase. Anyways, here is how the format will run, pay attention to these rules if you wish to optimize your lineups and to avoid penalties:

Segment One will last 2 races, weeks 27-28, TWO people will be eliminated from the game at this point. Any drivers are allowed both weeks. (Incase of tie, the tie will carry into segment two, lineups will not be allowed to be identical.)

Spikesgator, for picking 6 winning drivers, will get a +3 bonus for the first two segments in the chase!

Tigersman, for picking 5 winning drivers, will get a +3 bonus for the first segment in the chase!

Now for the newly revised handicap lists, these will last through the first five weeks of the chase.

2 Handicap: 16th-22nd

Kasey Kahne

+4 Handicap: 23rd- 29th

David Reutimann

Bobby LaBonte

+6 Handicap: 30th- 35th

David Gilliland

Casey Mears

Dave Blaney

Robby Gordon

Tony Raines

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

Just a few adjustments, taking out Allmendinger and the hot Keselowski, and adding in Kahne and Menard, other than that just some shifting like with Truex.

The bonus for this week is simple, pick a driver (that you didn't choose already) that is in the handicap listings of +4, +2 or no handicap, and predict their exact finish position. If you get their position exactly right, you get +5 points, if you are off by 1-2 positions, you get +3, 3-5 gets you +2, and 5-10 gets you +1.

IE: RFG chooses Jimmie Johnson to finish 10th, Jimmie Johnson finishes 11th, so RFG gets 3 bonus points.
IE: RFG chooses Jimmie Johnson to finish 10th, Jimmie Johnson finishes 1st, so RFG gets 1 bonus point.

My first driver for Chicagoland is Jeff Gordon, he's on a roll, and he's great here. My second is Kevin Harvick, wow I'm being creative after Richmond aren't I...

Roushfenwayguy- Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick (Tony Stewart- 9th)

Spikesgator- Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards (Martin Truex Jr.- 14th) (+3 bonus)

Tigersman- Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin (A.J. Allmendiger- 10th) (+3 bonus)

Foreplus- Kevin Harvick, Marcos Ambrose (RFG autopicks)

RFG's Eliminator League Week 26

OK, so last week until the chase, and Jeff Gordon got another win, leaving 3 people to follow his historic 85th win, Tigersman, D2Moo and Fogducker. It should be obvious that Tigers has the highest score, but lets find out, like River Rat said, this is probably a huge week, to rebound from that awful last session:

PODIUM

D2Moo-               93 (Two 90's, wow what a good week, thank the +3 bonus for winning the session for another first place.)

Tigersman-          91 (Both Hendrick drivers, give him reservations for... second place?)

Fogducker-          86

NON PODIUM 80 CLUB

Sfrye-                 85 (Possibly the two biggest chase threats made a great team here.)

Roushfenwayguy- 84 (Once again gets a nice boost from that Keselowski handicap, that will dissolve come chase time.)

Bored at Work-    84

ILL55INI-            83

70 CLUB

Foreplus-            78

River Rat-           78

DANGER ZONE

Spikesgator-       63 (Whoops, Kyle Busch turned out to be a bad pick.)

Wow, 78 as the second lowest score, and five people within 3 points of eachother, in the 80s, yes this was a very good week, so it should go to say that nobody is safe, and Spikesgator, whom had a mediocre week, could end up losing with a 63, that isn't that bad of a score, but Richmond is  known for having stuff happen, and the short break could make drivers tired, so we will have to see what happens.

Bored at Work- 7 (Unless he is eliminated, he has secured the +3 bonus throughout the chase.)
(This group has secured a bonus through the chase unless they get eliminated or D2Moo or Fogducker pick the winning driver.)

Spikesgator-    5

Tigersman-       5

(Eliminated from bonus hunt.)

D2Moo-           4

Fogducker-      4
Sfrye-              3
River Rat-         2

ILL55INI-          2

Foreplus-           1

Roushfenwayguy- 1

2 Handicap: 16th-22nd

David Ragan

A.J. Allmendinger

Mark Martin

Joey Logano

Juan Pablo Montoya

Brad Keselowski

Marcos Ambrose

+4 Handicap: 23rd- 29th

Martin Truex Jr.

Bobby LaBonte

+6 Handicap: 30th- 35th

David Gilliland

Dave Blaney

Casey Mears

Andy Lally

Robby Gordon

Tony Raines

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

ALSO one more thing, should there be a tie for last place, then nobody will be eliminated, and there will be no tiebreaker, also no segment winning bonus will carry on into the chase.

Richmond, Kyle Busch obviously, also I was going to pick Jeff Gordon, and after last race, I have even more reason to pick him.

Roushfenwayguy- Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon

Spikesgator- Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick

Tigersman- Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch

Foreplus- Denny Hamlin, Marcos Ambrose (+2 handicap)

D2Moo- Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin

Sfrye-  Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin

River Rat- Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch

Bored at Work- Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin

Fogducker- Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson

ILL55INI- Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 25

Another race, another Keselowski win, and yet, nobody chose him, well, lets see the standings:

PODIUM

1.) D2Moo-               160 (74) (0) (In a session filled with failiures, one person actually made a statement for the chase.)

2.) Spikesgator-        139 (55) (0) (Two big weeks in a row ruined by Reutimann.)

3.) Bored at Work-    133 (74) (+1)

NON-PODIUM 125 CLUB

4.) Fogducker-          128 (67) (-1)

100 CLUB

5.) Sfrye-                 111 (68) (+2)

6.) River Rat-           108 (64) (0)

7.) ILL55INI-            106 (72) (+2)

8.) Tigersman-         101 (70) (+3) (Gets two solid drivers to stay in the competition.)

BAD PICKER'S CLUB

9.) Roushfenwayguy- 97 (46) (-4) (Has another bad outing thanks to Greg Biffle.)

10.) Foreplus-           93 (51) (-2)

ELIMINATED

11.) Edwardsfan-       81 (47) (-2) (Martin stuck a fork into Edwardsfan.)

So Edwardsfan is eliminated in a dismal week, where the winner was 21 points ahead of anyone else, that's quite a margin considering the points system, basically 21 positions ahead of what everyone else picked, and it wasn't even an excellent score... so let's try to forget this week as we head to Atlanta.

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 24

Well, Kyle Busch wins again, and we got 2 people that picked him, Spikesgator and Bored at Work, of course these two have been raking up wins this whole season, so this shouldn't be too much of a surprise. But with Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards doing bad, we will have to see how much people suffered this week:

PODIUM

D2Moo-               86 (Finally gets cut a break after playing the handicap game perfectly.)

Spikesgator-        84 (His trust in his favorite driver is really starting to pay off.)

Fogducker-          61 (The only one to pick the right RF duo.)

NON- PODIUM 50 CLUB

Bored at Work-    59 (Busch bros... well one of them was fantastic.)

Edwardsfan-        34 (Bad day for Carl Edwards means no surpise Edwardsfan is here.)

ILL55INI-           34

Tigersman-         31 (Got hit hard this week, can he rebound at Bristol?)

This week was just painful to write, with the exception of two people, pretty much everyone did horrible thanks to those three drivers, in which seemed to be spread out between everyone, that's 8 people that picked at least one of those drivers I mentioned up top, meaning that's bad news, but hopefully Bristol looks better... even though Bristol has a much tougher reputation... this could be one low scoring session.

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 23

Well, another first time winner, but unlike the others, this one was a lot more predictable, 5 people got Ambrose, including the only person that had yet to pick a winning driver... I wonder who that could be... anyways, let's see how good or bad people did with all the action and takedowns late in the race:

PODIUM

1.) Spikesgator-        163 (83) (0) (Back to back great weeks for Spikes puts him in first.)

2.) Edwardsfan-         160 (87) (+3) (The full time picks that are pretty much only good at road races worked out yet again.)

3.) Roushfenwayguy- 156 (92) (+7) (Couldn't have picked a much better lineup than Kyle Ambrose.)

125 CLUB

4.) Bored at Work-    149 (86) (+7)

Fogducker-              149 (80) (+3)

6.) Foreplus-            145 (70) (-3)

7.) River Rat-           136 (66) (-1)

8.) ILL55INI-            135 (55) (-5)

110 CLUB

9.) Sfrye-                124 (55) (-2) (And this is with the winner.)

10.) D2Moo-              118 (41) (-8) (Falls from the podium to the bottom three, ouch.)

11.) Tigersman-         117 (49) (-2)

ELIMINATED

12.) Section-              105 (51) (0) (JPM last week, Kurt Busch this week, very hard to recover from two crashers...)

So Section is the one that leaves us this session after two very hard weeks for him, and now that leaves just 11 left, with only two segments left until the chase, who will make it there, and who will fall in the dust?
