RFG's Eliminator 4.0 week 3

Well, the first two weeks are in the books, and as I said nobody would be eliminated so long as they made picks, everyone made at least one pick, however, Bradman just joined, and needs to make sure he makes a pick this week, and Tenacfan missed picking this week, and needs to make sure he doesn't miss it from here on out or he could have a quick exit. Anyways, lets find out the standings:

PODIUM

1.) Floridawhite-        158 (80) (+1) (Flordia gets off to the amazing starts that we are used to by now.)

Section-                   158 (84) (+3) (Spoils Florida's fun with the winner and a share of first place.)

3.) Mikeyfan-            153 (89) (+5) (The only person to actually pick the winner, oh wait Section did too... apocalypse time?)

NON-PODIUM 130 CLUB

4.) Fsu1dogs-           150 (77) (+1) (Two consistent weeks puts him right off the podium... tough podium to get to this session.)

5.) Edwardsfan-         148 (70) (-2)

6.) Berlyn-                147 (68) (-5) (Was first after Daytona, but a decent 68 won't cut it.)

7.) Roushfenwayguy- 137 (73) (0)

100 CLUB

8.) Fog-                   124 (78) (+4)

9.) Tenacfan-           122 (77) (+4) (He used RFG autopicks to get the winner, so it doesn't count to the winning drivers chosen.)

10.) Sfrye-                120 (71) (+1)

11.) Foreplus-            113 (41) (-5) (Both the women fell the most positions this week...)

12.) D2Moo-              111 (50) (-3)

Tigersman-                111 (51) (-2) (Well, Kyle Busch did good...)

GLAD THIS ISNT FOR ELIMINATION CLUB

14.) Hoosierguy-          84 (53) (+2) (Well, he got out of the cellar, but he's still in the basement.)

15.) River Rat-             69 (35) (0) (Misery loves company, in this case its Kasey Kahne taking down all the Daytona losers to new lows.)

ILL55INI-                    69* (Yaaaa.... this is with one week...)

16.) Metrojethro-          66 (24) (0) (Follows up his bad Daytona outing with a score lower than any other Daytona score... ouch...)

JOEpesci-                    62* (Almost caught up to last place with only 1 week of picks.)

Bradman-             N/A

So we learned that JOE may have what it takes to stick with this game, as he is learning it quickly... as for Hoosier and especially Metro, they need to learn that experimenting may not be the best idea when we go to actual eliminations starting this segment... and I don't really know if the Pheonix one was an experiment...

Weeks 3-14: Each week, you must just change your lineup, in other words, you can keep one of your two drivers the same, as long as you change the other one, (Ex.= Week 3: J.J. and Jeff Gordon... Week 4: J.J. and Mark Matin is acceptable) now the only exception is that if you use the same driver for 4 consectutive races, I will make you switch him out, just don't want someone picking J.J. for all 12 races.

Winning Drivers List:

Mikeyfan-                1

Section-                  1

Floridawhite-            1

Everyone else-         0

RFG's Eliminator 4.0 week 2

OK, so after last week, we still have 17/18 people, since everyone has made picks, none of these people will be eliminated, yet we still need 1 more person in order to keep this game going for the rest of the season, so get someone to come on to this game. I'm also keeping registration open for this game until week 3 WHEN THE GREEN FLAG DROPS, not some stupid stuff where I lock everything before the scheduled start when you don't even know what's going to happen, only when the green flag drops since making picks anytime after that would give an unfair advantage. Anyways, lets get to the standings to see how people did week 1:

PODIUM

1.) Berlyn-               79 (Well, her RCR faith certainly paid off this race.)

2.) Floridawhte-        78 (The only one to pick the winner, but still not first... winning drivers are more important if you make it to the chase anyways...)

3.) Edwardsfan-        78

CHASING THE PODIUM

4.) Section-              74

5.) Fsu1dogs-           73

6.) Foreplus-            72

STILL HAS A CHANCE CLUB

7.) Roushfenwayguy- 64

8.) Mikeyfan-            64

9.) D2Moo-               61 (Well, the handicaps sure do help, second place helps too.)

10.) Tigersman-          60

VICTIMS OF DAYTONA

11.) Sfrye-                 49 (Going out on a limb because these two weeks don't count... well lets just leave at they don't count.)

12.) Fog-                   46 (Picked the lowest possible scoring driver.. which is Jimmie Johnson? What's going on???)

13.) Tenacfan-           45

14.) Metrojethro-         42 (Tough trying to learn this game on a track like Daytona.)

15.) River Rat-            34 (Jeff Gordon seemed like a good pick...)

16.) Hoosierguy-          31 (He got more points off handicap bonuses than race finishing points.)

17.) JOEpesci-              0 (Starting week 2)

So as excepted, there were some that did good, and some that got hit by Daytona's return to pack racing. Remember that there are bonus points in the next segment to whoever wins this one, so it is definetely worth trying if you still stand a chance to at least get into the top 3. It also looks like those handicap drivers (cough, Patrick and Bayne) didn't really pay off too much, we will have to wait and see if any handicap drivers start to become viable as Pheonix is a much better indicator.

RULES ON WINNING DRIVERS LIST: Whoever gets the most winning drivers (that makes the chase) will get a +3 bonus throughout all 3 segments, which could really make the difference between someone getting eliminated or saved. The second most will get +3 through the first 2 segments, and third gets the bonus for only the first segment. Remember that ties get rounded down, so if there is a 2 way tie for second, both people get treated as if they got 3rd, and if there is a 3 way tie for second, all of them get treated as if they got 4th, or in other words all of them get no bonuses.

Winning Drivers List:

Floridawhite-            1

Everyone else-         0

2 Handicap: 16th-22nd

Greg Biffle

Paul Menard

Martin Truex Jr.

Marcos Ambrose

+6 Handicap: 30th- 35th

David Gilliland

Casey Mears

Dave Blaney

Andy Lally

Robby Gordon

J.J. Yeley

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

For me this week, remember when Matt Kenseth won the last 500? Ya so I'm picking him. Also Jimmie Johnson is so dominant here, that its hard to pick against him.

RFG's Eliminator 4.0 week1

Well, here comes another year. As of now we have 12 of 18 people needed to start this game. At the end of week 2, all people that have not made picks in either weeks 1 or 2 will be eliminated, but nobody else. By the start of week 3, if we do not have the 18 minimum that we need to start up the game, the game will collapse like Kurt Busch during the off-season this year. My point is that we do have some time, but we will need AT LEAST 6 more people to survive. Anyways, to the normal stuff!

Here come the handicap lists for the first 5 weeks of the season:

2 Handicap: 16th-22nd

Greg Biffle

Paul Menard

Martin Truex Jr.

Marcos Ambrose

Jeff Burton

Juan Pablo Montoya

Mark Martin

+4 Handicap: 23rd- 29th

David Ragan

Joey Logano

Brian Vickers

Regan Smith

David Reutimann

Jamie McMurray

Bobby LaBonte

+6 Handicap: 30th- 35th

David Gilliland

Casey Mears

Dave Blaney

Andy Lally

Robby Gordon

J.J. Yeley

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

For me, I'm going to go with Kyle Busch, and Kevin Harvick to start things off... especially since I am very afraid to pick my driver Kurt this year.

Roushfenwayguy- Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick

Mikeyfan- Martin Truex Jr. (+2 handicap), Kyle Busch

D2Moo- Dale Earnhardt Jr., Trevor Bayne (+8 handicap)

Tigersman- Marcos Ambrose (+2 handicap), Regan Smith (+4 handicap)

Metrojethro- Trevor Bayne (+8 handicap), Regan Smith (+4 handicap)

Berlyn- Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton (+2 handicap)

Foreplus- Kevin Harvick, Marcos Ambrose (+2 handicap)

Fsu1dogs- Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick

River Rat- Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon

Floridawhite- Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart

Sfrye- Trevor Bayne (+8 handicap), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+8 handicap)

Section- Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer

Tenacfan- Tony Stewart, Danica Patrick (+8 handicap)

Edwardsfan- Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle

Hoosierguy- Danica Patrick (+8 handicap), Trevor Bayne (+8 handicap)

Fog- Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson

(16/18) (Of course if we get more than 18 that is perfectly fine, the more the merrier.)

Common Picks:

Kevin Harvick- 5

Trevor Bayne- 4

Tony Stewart-  3

Kyle Busch-     2

Carl Edwards-  2

Danica Patrick- 2

Marcos Ambrose- 2

Greg Biffle-         2

Regan Smith-     2

YEAR 4 RFG Eliminator

Welcome to year 4 of RFG's eliminator league, so far we have had RFG, Bradman, and Sfrye as our 3 winners of this game, which goes to show that repeat champions isn't as easy as it if for JJ... oh wait, he just lost his! Anyways, this is the signup sheet for my eliminator game for year four, many of the rules are the same, infact pretty much all of them are, I added from 1 to 2 drivers into season 2, and season 3 I made people pick which of those they thought would do better, really what more else can I do? I'm not going to add a 3rd driver because then its kinda pick 3... and there isn't much incentive I can think of other than that. Anyways, mostly copy paste here, but here are the rules so that Section needs to buy some more computers:

Weeks 1-2: These will just be practice weeks, people that miss both these weeks w/o an excuse will be eliminated from the game, yet if everyone participates, nobody will be eliminated this first session, just for people to get used to the game and get rid of the inactives. There will still be bonuses for winning this session, this session you may keep the same drivers for both races. (I will allow people to sign up for the game before week 3, but week 3 is the sign up deadline.)

Weeks 15-26: You must switch both your drivers every week, meaning you must pick 4 different drivers each segment.

Weeks 26-27: You can have any lineup you want for both weeks, in addition, a bonus maybe thrown in. X amount of people will be eliminated!

Weeks 28-30: You may switch one or both of your drivers, like weeks 3-14, yet this is a 3 week peroid, if you switch away from a driver, you can't pick him again, and you can't use the same driver for all 3 weeks, in addition, a bonus maybe thrown in. X amount of people will be eliminated!

Weeks 31-36: You must use 10 different drivers throughout the whole contest, like weeks 15-26, in addition, a bonus maybe throw in. The champion will be crowned at the end!

The X's will be determined once I find out how many people are signed up.

Obviously by the way this is set up, I will need at least 19 people to sign up, but the more the merrier, there is no limit to how many can join... well... maybe if 30 people join I may cut it off...

Bonuses work the same as last year, where the winner of each session gets +3 points, a handicap list will still be given, and will be made on the next blog, the only exception is that for the first session, all of the top 3 will get +3 points, and this will not apply during chase weeks. Bonus points will be given throughout the chase with picking winning drivers, and from weeks 15-26, a save will be in a play for anyone that may be eliminated if they are in the top 3 of average session finish.

The bonuses for the chase are the same as last year, and go like this:

The person whom picks the most winning drivers will get +3 points for all 3 sessions.

The person whom picks the 2nd most winning drivers will get +3 points for the first two sessions.

The porson whom picks the 3rd most winning drivers will get +3 points for the first session.

(All ties will round bonus points down one level, where if there is a tie for 3rd, none of those people will get bonuses.)

Each week you must choose which driver of your two you believe will finish better than the other one, bolding your pick is reccomended, but if you don't, I will pick your first driver listed as your choice. No penalty if you get it wrong, but every race you get this right you get +2 points. Hopefully this will promote people making riskier decisions with handicap drivers and all.

List of people in the game:

RFG's Chase Eliminator FINAL

Well Tony Stewart won... awwwww... next week for Carl Edwards I guess. Anyways, Sfrye saved both of them, so did he win... well of course, he was only 6 points behind bored, so the winner of the game is Sfrye, but incase you want me to prove it, or to find out where you rank, I got the complete standings done:

Roushfenwayguy (ghost picks)- 369 (68)

Sfrye-                                     387 (91) (Well, the last week strategy for the top 2 definetely worked out, as shown.)

Bored at Work-                        378 (76) (Kept it very close considering what Sfrye did, a well deserved second after possibly being the most dominant player during the regular season.)

D2Moo-                                   335 (56) (Well, you picked the right week for Edwards... as for Kurt...)

ILL55INI-                                 326 (52) (Well, a tie for last... so I guess nobody gets last Smile.)

Foreplus-                                 326 (48) (Jimmie Johnson brought down Foreplus all the way to a tie for last place, last season I wouldn't be saying this.)

And so you have it, Sfrye wins the season thanks to saving the best for last in a stategy that Tony Stewart was speculated to backfire on based upon his track record here, but obviously that didn't happen. Congratulations to Sfrye, and the close runner up Bored at Work. I hope to see all of you in February when we get back to Daytona!

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 10

Well, one more week, and Kahne won, he really is heating up, and might not be a bad pick for Homestead, anyways, other others in the top 3 were Smoke and Edwareds, surprise surprise, so lets see how that fared for everyone:

Roushfenwayguy (GHOST PICKS)- 301 (69) (+1)

Bored at Work-                           302 (73) (+1)

Sfrye-                                        296 (69) (0)

D2Moo-                                     279 (72) (0)

Foreplus-                                   278 (79) (+3)

ILL55INI-                                   274 (76) (+1)

Well, if I was in the competition, we would have one heck of a three way competition to win it all, however, I'm not, but two people to win it all is still going to be a great competition, and who knows, if both of them have a bad driver, all the other three in this competition are close enough to take first with a great lineup as well, so its not really over for anyone just yet, except me of course.

Since this is the last week, and Sfrye and Bored are so close, Sfrye and Bored at Work can not share the same lineup, if you do, whoever picks second will occur a -5 penalty, just enough to make sure that even if you just swap your winner from 2nd place, that you will still lose enough to be mathematically unable to catch the other person.

2 Handicap: 16th-22nd

Greg Biffle (replaces Kasey Kahne)

David Ragan

Marcos Ambrose

Juan Pablo Montoya

Mark Martin

Paul Menard (from +4 to +2)

Joey Logano

+4 Handicap: 23rd- 29th

Martin Truex Jr. (from +2 to +4)

Jeff Burton

Brian Vickers

Regan Smith

Jamie McMurray

David Reutimann

Bobby LaBonte

+6 Handicap: 30th- 35th

David Gilliland

Casey Mears

Dave Blaney

Andy Lally

Robby Gordon

J.J. Yeley (replaces Tony Raines)

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

Like I said before, there will be no bonuses, this last week will be a pure fight for competitions, which are still well up for grabs, especially in the first/ second and third/fifth brackets.

Yup, sure looks like a good time to go with Kasey Kahne considering the lack of options I have, my other option... wow I'm really running out of options... might as well go with A.J. Allmendinger, not like I'm in this competition anyways...

Roushfenwayguy (GHOST PICKS)- Kasey Kahne, A.J. Allmendinger

Sfrye- Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart

Bored at Work- Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick

Foreplus- Jimmie Johson, Regan Smith (+4 handicap)

ILL55INI- Jeff Gordon, Greg Biffle

D2Moo- Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch

Keep in mind that these statistics do not include myself, since I am just making ghost picks

Only Foreplus may use Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Nobody may use Matt Kenseth

Only Bored at Work can use Denny Hamlin

Only Foreplus may use Jimmie Johnson

Nobody may use Tony Stewart

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 9

The chase is winding down, and only two contestants really remain, Edwards and Stewart, and while there are only two left in that competition, we got more than that... at least I think, considering all the Edwards and Kenseth picks that both scored in the top 5. Also, not a single person has used Smoke... throughout the whole final segment... so how many will end up picking him during either Homestead or Pheonix? Anyways, lets see the scores everyone put up.:

Roushfenwayguy (ghost picks)- 232 (86)

Bored at Work-                       229 (88) (+2 bonus)

Sfrye-                                    227 (87) (+2 bonus)

D2Moo-                                 207 (83 (+4 bonus)

Foreplus-                               199 (67) (Denny Hamlin made Foreplus start to fade from the picture, with 4 total driver though, this game can be easily made up.)

ILL55INI-                              198 (86)

So apart from Foreplus, there was a maximum of five points seperating each person in points for this week, but with many drivers that people can't use anymore, picks may start to get more different, and then we may see some differences in points, either that or everyone is getting rid of all the same drivers at the same times... also Foreplus had 2 points added to her score, I forgot to add +2 for her Biffle pick on the first week.

Roushfenwayguy (GHOST PICKS)- 146 (87)

Bored at Work- 141 (82)

Sfrye-              140 (81)

Foreplus-         132 (72)

D2Moo-            124 (85)

ILL55INI-         112 (70)

So the top 2 are extremely close, foreplus and D2Moo still are in the hunt, as 17 points can be made up pretty easily in 3 races, and ILL55... well he's gotta start making some good picks...

Just a heads up, since last week is the last week, there will be NO BONUS, because I want the last race to be fair...ish, anyways, its time to recycle ideas for this week, lead changes, which actually do not happen too much at Pheonix. +5 for the exact amount, +3 for 1-2 off, +1 for 3-5 off, and nothing for anything else.

For me this week, Tony Stewart sucks at Homestead, so I might as well go with him here. Also, its time to use Kurt Busch, since I can't use Edwards, Johnson or Gordon...

Roushfenwayguy (GHOST PICKS)- Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch (bonus= 10 laps) Carl Edwards Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon  Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski

Sfrye- Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart (19 laps)  Greg Biffle Kevin Harvick   Trevor Bayne,

Bored at Work- Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowski (18 laps) Carl Edwards,  Jimmie Johnson,  David Ragan, Trevor Bayne

Foreplus- Tony Stewart, Jaime McMurray (+4 handicap) (16 laps)  Carl Edwards Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton , Greg Biffle

ILL55INI- Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson (17 laps) Carl Edwards,    Kurt Busch,  Kevin Harvick,

D2Moo- Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowski (22 laps) Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson,    Kevin Harvick,

Keep in mind that these statistics do not include myself, since I am just making ghost picks

Only Foreplus may use Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Nobody may use Matt Kenseth

Only Bored at Work can use Denny Hamlin
