RFG's Eliminator League Week 26

OK, so last week until the chase, and Jeff Gordon got another win, leaving 3 people to follow his historic 85th win, Tigersman, D2Moo and Fogducker. It should be obvious that Tigers has the highest score, but lets find out, like River Rat said, this is probably a huge week, to rebound from that awful last session:

PODIUM

D2Moo-               93 (Two 90's, wow what a good week, thank the +3 bonus for winning the session for another first place.)

Tigersman-          91 (Both Hendrick drivers, give him reservations for... second place?)

Fogducker-          86

NON PODIUM 80 CLUB

Sfrye-                 85 (Possibly the two biggest chase threats made a great team here.)

Roushfenwayguy- 84 (Once again gets a nice boost from that Keselowski handicap, that will dissolve come chase time.)

Bored at Work-    84

ILL55INI-            83

70 CLUB

Foreplus-            78

River Rat-           78

DANGER ZONE

Spikesgator-       63 (Whoops, Kyle Busch turned out to be a bad pick.)

Wow, 78 as the second lowest score, and five people within 3 points of eachother, in the 80s, yes this was a very good week, so it should go to say that nobody is safe, and Spikesgator, whom had a mediocre week, could end up losing with a 63, that isn't that bad of a score, but Richmond is  known for having stuff happen, and the short break could make drivers tired, so we will have to see what happens.

Bored at Work- 7 (Unless he is eliminated, he has secured the +3 bonus throughout the chase.)
(This group has secured a bonus through the chase unless they get eliminated or D2Moo or Fogducker pick the winning driver.)

Spikesgator-    5

Tigersman-       5

(Eliminated from bonus hunt.)

D2Moo-           4

Fogducker-      4
Sfrye-              3
River Rat-         2

ILL55INI-          2

Foreplus-           1

Roushfenwayguy- 1

2 Handicap: 16th-22nd

David Ragan

A.J. Allmendinger

Mark Martin

Joey Logano

Juan Pablo Montoya

Brad Keselowski

Marcos Ambrose

+4 Handicap: 23rd- 29th

Martin Truex Jr.

David Reutimann

Bobby LaBonte

+6 Handicap: 30th- 35th

David Gilliland

Dave Blaney

Casey Mears

Andy Lally

Robby Gordon

Tony Raines

+8 handicap: Anyone Below 35th

ALSO one more thing, should there be a tie for last place, then nobody will be eliminated, and there will be no tiebreaker, also no segment winning bonus will carry on into the chase.

Richmond, Kyle Busch obviously, also I was going to pick Jeff Gordon, and after last race, I have even more reason to pick him.

Roushfenwayguy- Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon

Spikesgator- Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick

Tigersman- Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch

Foreplus- Denny Hamlin, Marcos Ambrose (+2 handicap)

D2Moo- Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin

Sfrye-  Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin

River Rat- Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 25

Another race, another Keselowski win, and yet, nobody chose him, well, lets see the standings:

PODIUM

1.) D2Moo-               160 (74) (0) (In a session filled with failiures, one person actually made a statement for the chase.)

2.) Spikesgator-        139 (55) (0) (Two big weeks in a row ruined by Reutimann.)

3.) Bored at Work-    133 (74) (+1)

NON-PODIUM 125 CLUB

4.) Fogducker-          128 (67) (-1)

100 CLUB

5.) Sfrye-                 111 (68) (+2)

6.) River Rat-           108 (64) (0)

7.) ILL55INI-            106 (72) (+2)

8.) Tigersman-         101 (70) (+3) (Gets two solid drivers to stay in the competition.)

BAD PICKER'S CLUB

9.) Roushfenwayguy- 97 (46) (-4) (Has another bad outing thanks to Greg Biffle.)

10.) Foreplus-           93 (51) (-2)

ELIMINATED

11.) Edwardsfan-       81 (47) (-2) (Martin stuck a fork into Edwardsfan.)

So Edwardsfan is eliminated in a dismal week, where the winner was 21 points ahead of anyone else, that's quite a margin considering the points system, basically 21 positions ahead of what everyone else picked, and it wasn't even an excellent score... so let's try to forget this week as we head to Atlanta.

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 24

Well, Kyle Busch wins again, and we got 2 people that picked him, Spikesgator and Bored at Work, of course these two have been raking up wins this whole season, so this shouldn't be too much of a surprise. But with Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards doing bad, we will have to see how much people suffered this week:

PODIUM

D2Moo-               86 (Finally gets cut a break after playing the handicap game perfectly.)

Spikesgator-        84 (His trust in his favorite driver is really starting to pay off.)

Fogducker-          61 (The only one to pick the right RF duo.)

NON- PODIUM 50 CLUB

Bored at Work-    59 (Busch bros... well one of them was fantastic.)

Roushfenwayguy- 51 (Saved from disaster by another Keselowski stunner.)

40 CLUB

River Rat-           44

Sfrye-                 43

Foreplus-            42

30 CLUB

Edwardsfan-        34 (Bad day for Carl Edwards means no surpise Edwardsfan is here.)

ILL55INI-           34

Tigersman-         31 (Got hit hard this week, can he rebound at Bristol?)

This week was just painful to write, with the exception of two people, pretty much everyone did horrible thanks to those three drivers, in which seemed to be spread out between everyone, that's 8 people that picked at least one of those drivers I mentioned up top, meaning that's bad news, but hopefully Bristol looks better... even though Bristol has a much tougher reputation... this could be one low scoring session.

For Bristol, I'm going with Kyle Busch, I'd be stupid not to. I'll also go with Greg Biffle, who will be hungry to try to secure himself a spot in the chase.

Roushfenwayguy- Kyle Busch, Greg Biffle

Spikesgator- Jimmie Johnson, David Reutimann (+4 handicap)

Tigersman- Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 23

Well, another first time winner, but unlike the others, this one was a lot more predictable, 5 people got Ambrose, including the only person that had yet to pick a winning driver... I wonder who that could be... anyways, let's see how good or bad people did with all the action and takedowns late in the race:

PODIUM

1.) Spikesgator-        163 (83) (0) (Back to back great weeks for Spikes puts him in first.)

2.) Edwardsfan-         160 (87) (+3) (The full time picks that are pretty much only good at road races worked out yet again.)

3.) Roushfenwayguy- 156 (92) (+7) (Couldn't have picked a much better lineup than Kyle Ambrose.)

125 CLUB

4.) Bored at Work-    149 (86) (+7)

Fogducker-              149 (80) (+3)

6.) Foreplus-            145 (70) (-3)

7.) River Rat-           136 (66) (-1)

8.) ILL55INI-            135 (55) (-5)

9.) Sfrye-                124 (55) (-2) (And this is with the winner.)

10.) D2Moo-              118 (41) (-8) (Falls from the podium to the bottom three, ouch.)

11.) Tigersman-         117 (49) (-2)

ELIMINATED

12.) Section-              105 (51) (0) (JPM last week, Kurt Busch this week, very hard to recover from two crashers...)

So Section is the one that leaves us this session after two very hard weeks for him, and now that leaves just 11 left, with only two segments left until the chase, who will make it there, and who will fall in the dust?

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 22

So another surprise winner, how many will we get this season? Who knows, but only one handicap driver was chosen this week, and that was JPM, so nobody gets the winner, and Hamlin didn't end up so great, so lets find out where everyone ranks... and Martin is a handicap driver now too...:

Spikesgator-        80 (The Hendrick duo proved very efficient this race.)

Busch Bros.- 85

Well, we learned one thing, whenever there is a week where nobody picks both the Busch Bros., they do really well, we also found out that JPM is doing bad right now, but will that carry over to a road course, or can he break the slump there, we will find out.

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 21

Well another surprise winner in Paul Menard, another pick that nobody chose, naturally. But there were a lot of surprises in the top, meaning those not surprises that everyone thought would do good didn't do so well, lets see how bad the damage is:

PODIUM

1.) Sfrye-                  147 (82) (+8) (Talk about a huge pole-vault to get to first, virtually the only one to do good this week.)

River Rat-                 147 (82) (+8) (WOH! A tie for first, and the same scores both week, these two in sync or something?)

3.) Tigersman-          145 (57) (-2)

NON-PODIUM 125 CLUB

4.) Bored at Work-     144 (70) (0)

Spikesgator-             144 (59) (-2)

6.) Foreplus-             135 (50) (-4)

7.) D2Moo-               131 (57) (-3)

8.) Edwardsfan-         129 (63) (0)

9.) Section-               120 (51) (-2)

10.) Roushfenwayguy- 116 (53) (+1)

11.) ILL55INI-            115 (44) (-5)

12.) Fogducker-          110 (66) (0)

13.) Mikeyfan-            98 (61) (0) (If only you didn't pick JPM.)

Well, after dominating most of the season, Mikeyfan got back to back last place finishes in this game, no matter who you are, if you finish last twice, you deserve to be eliminated from the game, sorry Mikeyfan... as for the rest of us that scored below 70 points, we better get our act on, but Pocono is a great place to do that with.

Look at the new handicaps, they are revamped with JPM and Mark Martin, but Kahne and Menard are now too high in the standings.

For Pocono, I'm going to try Hamlin this time, I'll also go with Tony Stewart considering his top 5 and top 10 record here recently.

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 20

Well its race 20, and that means the chase is closing, fast. With only 7 races left until the chase, Ryan Newman made the move he had to getting his first win. It seems that two people actually chose him, quite surprisingly, both Foreplus and Tigersman. Congratulations to both, now lets see who landed where, and how that tie between Mikey and Fog ended.

PODIUM

1.) Tigersman-          88 (Winner and a top 5, that usually spells week winner, that holds true for this week.)

2.) Foreplus-             85

Spikesgator-             85 (Two top 5s, rank him up for lots of points.)

60 CLUB

4.) D2Moo-               74 (Due to family relations, gave him the most common picks of JJ &Gordon, I can't do this 2 weeks though.)

Bored at Work-         74

6.) ILL55INI-            71

7.) Section-              69

8.) Edwardsfan-         66

9.) Sfrye-                 65

10.) River Rat-          65

11.) Roushfenwayguy- 63 (Looks like Harvick's stellar start is starting to fade out.)

NOT SO ROWDY CLUB

12.) Fogducker-          44 (Alright, you two need to make sure you don't pick the same drivers, your making them do bad.)

13.) Mikeyfan-            37 (Yup, looks like you are going to rely on the save, but can you avoid elimination this week?)

So Mikeyfan will use up the save, but its looking like the same two are going to go head to head to see who really gets eliminated this time around, except this time, we are heading to the Brickyard, where nobody can be considered a safe bet.

RFG's Eliminator Game Race 19

Well it looks like the nationwide choosers were correct in their assumptions, Kyle and Edwards did very well, and those that picked them are getting big rewards, this may not be the lowest scoring week like I imagined because of all the common drivers that did so well, but lets see for ourselves who did the best:

Foreplus-             149 (77) (Hangs on the lead that she only earned from her pick 3 picks last week.)

Spikesgator-        148 (84) (Sticking with JGR paid off this week, at least for Kyle Busch.)

Roushfenwayguy- 147 (80)

Section-              144 (73)

Bored at Work-    142 (72)

ILL55INI-            142 (89)

Tigersman-          141 (75)

Syfre-                  141 (84)

River Rat-            133 (75)

D2Moo-               128 (79)

Edwardsfan-         119 (86) (The Busch bros. were a great combo this week.)

Mikeyfan-            112 (89) (A terrific week to rebound from that really awful previous one... although it wasn't enough.)

Fogducker-          112 (45) (Given Regan Smith and Bobby LaBonte autopicks, who would have thought that it would result in a tie???)

So we are left in a tie, the rule for a tie is that both people need to make DIFFERENT PICKS (first come first serve), if one fails to make picks, that person will be eliminated automatically, and whoever has the lowest score of the two gets eliminated. The other side of the story though, is that Mikeyfan has the save should he lose, and he will stay in the game, but if he loses by too much, he could just get eliminated in the next segment, so it will be very interesting to see how this tie is broken next week at New Hampshire.
