RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 10

1 final week, Carl Edwards did his backflip finally, and only 1 person picked him, Chokin Colts! The Jimmie Johnson bandwagon for this week did well too though with a 5th. Let's get to the standings now and see how close the final race will be:

PODIUM

1.) Chokin Colts-     1159 (333) (+0B) (0) (Leader) (Carl Edwards may have just gotten Chokin Colts the title to this game.)

2.) Fsu1dogs-          1123 (335) (+30B) (+2) (-36) (Getting the bonus exactly right keeps him close to Chokin Colts.)

3.) Coach-               1087 (289) (+4B) (0) (-72) (Pretty good week to pick both the chase RH drivers.)

IN THE CHASE

4.) Bradman-           1082 (275) (+10B) (-2) (-77) (Still in the hunt although the 34 point penalty did hurt, sorry though, I should have tried harder to get to you.)

5.) Tigersman-         1070 (325) (+10B) (+1) (-89) (Leaps right back into the chase picture with a fantastic week.)

VIRTUALLY ELIMINATED

6.) ILL55INI-            1026 (243) (+14B) (-1) (-133) (Bowyer may have just knocked out ILL55INI, Kyle didn't help much either.)

7.) Berlyn-               994  (270) (+3B) (0) (-165) (When the last two in the standings have the same lineup, its usually not a good sign...)

8.) Roushfenwayguy- 985 (281) (+14B) (0) (-174) (After smoke's mediocre performance, in this game there will be no repeat champion.)

So five people are within 100 points of first place, with two drivers, we have seen that a different like that can easily happen should you pick a really good lineup. The big question is, will Chokin Colts be able to hold off Fsu and the rest of the field?

For the next five races, you are not permitted to use the same driver twice w/o a 34 point penalty, thus making it so that everyone must choose 10 unique drivers thoughout the final five races, good luck to all! All your ineligible drivers will be crossed out next to your name before you make picks.

For the bonus this week, I decided to try something new. You must choose one of the drivers you used in the first four races of this segment (meaning you can't pick a driver you choose for Homestead) and predict how well they will finish compared to the rest of the drivers you already used. I'll give examples down below. Scoring is as followed: Highest finishing driver: 30 bonus points, second highest=25 points, 3rd 20 bonus, 4th 15, 5th gets 10, 6th gets 5. If your driver that you chose finishes 7th or 8th among your other drivers, then you get no bonus. Below are some examples:

Ex.1: Mikeyfan used Johnson, Hamlin, Harvick, Stewart, Kenseth, Edwards, Biffle and Kurt Busch during the first four races. Mikeyfan chooses Johnson, and he finishes behind Hamlin, Harvick and Edwards, Mikeyfan would receive 15 bonus points.

Ex.2: Same drivers as above, Mikeyfan chooses Stewart, Stewart finishes 35th, behind Johnson (1st), Hamlin (2nd), Harvick (3rd), Kenseth (10th), Edwards (11th), and Kurt Busch (16th), and ahead of Greg Biffle (39th), Mikeyfan would receive no points since his driver was 7th in comparison to the others.

Any questions on this rule I will take, as I wouldn't be surprised if some were confused by this. The drivers you can choose will be crossed out as your ineligible drivers to choose on this race (Bradman will only have 7 to choose from, slight advantage, but the 34 point penalty is more harsh than any bonus he will receive.)

I decided to save Harvick, and Edwards (should have used him last race) for this race, and I'm not going to refuse to use these hot drivers with my last chance I have to choose them.) For my bonus, who else but Denny Hamlin, hopeufully too many do not follow suit, as I know everyone can choose him for the bonus.

Roushfenwayguy- Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards (bonus= Denny Hamlin)

Bradman- A.J. Allmendinger (+20 handicap), Kevin Harvick (bonus= Kurt Busch) Matt Kenseth, David Ragan,

Berlyn- Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch (bonus= Kyle Busch) Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin

ILL55INI- Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards (bonus= Denny Hamlin) Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman

Coach- Jeff Burton, Kasey Kahne (+10 handicap) (bonus= Jimmie Johnson) Greg Biffle Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer

Tigersman- Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart (bonus= Jimmie Johnson) Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman

Chokin Colts- Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick (bonus= Jimmie Johnson) Greg Biffle Kasey Kahne, Casey Mears, Ryan Newman

fsu1dogs- Joey Logano (+20 handicap), Mark Martin (+10 handicap) (bonus= Juan Pablo Montoya) Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer

(Opposites of these statements are guidelines for drivers eligible for your bonuses.)

Nobody may choose Denny Hamlin!

Only ILL55INI may choose Jimmie Johnson!

Only Berlyn and ILL55INI may choose Carl Edwards!

Only Berlyn and Coach may choose Kurt Busch!

Only Tigersman and Chokin Colts may choose Jeff Gordon!

Common Picks:

Kevin Harvick- 3

Carl Edwards- 3

Jeff Gordon- 2

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 9

Two weeks to go until its all over, and once again thinks are being shaken up after many chase drivers such as the busch bros and the Jeffs all had bad days. Lets find out what really happened in the standings:

PODIUM

1.) Chokin Colts-       826 (308) (+0B) (+3) (Leader) (Only one to pick two top 10 drivers this week.)

2.) Bradman-            807 (296) (+15B) (+4) (-19)

3.) Coach-                798 (281) (+10B) (+2) (-28) (Two decent picks keeps him in the hunt.)

IN THE CHASE

4.) Fsu1dogs-           788 (212) (+15B) (-3) (-38) (Moves from first to out of the podium due to two bad drivers.)

5.) ILL55INI-            783 (217)  (+0B)  (-3) (-43)

CHASING THE CHASE

6.) Tigersman-          745 (212) (+15B) (-3) (-81) (Two not very good picks brings Tigersman down in the pack.)

7.) Berlyn-                724 (245) (+0B)    (0) (-102) (Everyone got a win with Hamlin, but Berlyn couldn't back her win up.)

8.) Roushfenwayguy- 704 (242) (+0B)    (0) (-122) (Kenseth did fantastic, but Kyle could have ended any hope of a two time champ.)

So a lot of shake-ups in the top 6, and even 122 over two races is  a possible feat, though a hard one. Nobody that was in the podium last week is in the podium this week!

For the next five races, you are not permitted to use the same driver twice w/o a 34 point penalty, thus making it so that everyone must choose 10 unique drivers thoughout the final five races, good luck to all! All your ineligible drivers will be crossed out next to your name before you make picks.

For the bonus this week: I'm using this one again:

The rule this week that you must pick a driver that you did not pick as one of your two picks, any driver that is in the top 35 in points, and you must guess where they will finish. Where the driver actually finishes, and where you chose him to finish will be made a difference and subtracted from your score. The other catch is bonuses for this, if you guess within 10 positions of where that driver actually finishes, you get 10 extra points (if your driver is exactly 10 positions away from where you guess, you will receive one bonus point). If you guess within 5 pos., then you get 15 extra points, if you guess exactly where they finish, then 30 points will come your way. If your driver finishes more than 10 pos. away from your guess, then you will not be penalized, you will get 0 points. Here are two examples:

Ex. 1: Roushfenway chooses Jeff Gordon to finish 2nd... Jeff Gordon finishes 5th, so: 5-2 = 3, plus 15 points added to your score since he was within 5 pos. of your guess, since the 3 is subratracted from your score, 15-3 = 12 points added to your score!

Ex. 2: Edwardsfan chooses Carl Edwards to finish 2nd... Carl Edwards finsihes 32nd, so : 32-2 = 30, no bonus, so 0 points would be subtracted from you score.

For my two drivers, I finally decided to use Johnson at the track of Pheonix. I also decided to lay my hands on smoke, as he can finish well here, and I need him to. My bonus is Harvick to finish 5th.

Roushfenwayguy- Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart (Bonus= Kevin Harvick (5th))

Bradman- Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch (-34 handicap) (Bonus= Paul Menard (24th)) Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards Kurt Busch, David Ragan, Jeff Gordon

Berlyn- Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart (Bonus= Carl Edwards (8th)) Jeff Burton Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin

ILL55INI- Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch (bonus= Jimmie Johnson(6th)) Jeff Gordon, Greg Biffle Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman

Coach- Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon (bonus= Ryan Newman (8th)) Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer

Tigersman- Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle (bonus= Kyle Busch (8th)) Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman

Chokin Colts- Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch (bonus= Dale Earnhardt Jr. (27th)) Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle Kasey Kahne, Casey Mears, Ryan Newman

fsu1dogs- Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick (bonus= Mark Martin (8th)) Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards Juan Pablo Montoya, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer

Nobody may choose Denny Hamlin!

Common Picks:

Jimmie Johnson- 6

Tony Stewart-      2

Kurt Busch-          2 (1 illegal)

People that chose 8th place for their bonus: 4 (Is 8th place easy to predict or something... considering that all of them are rooting for different drivers, I don't think so...)

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 8

O.K., three weeks to go, and Talladega took out quite a bit of people... actually post of us had at least one driver do bad, so really everyone still has a shot of winning this thing. Nobody picked Bowyer to win as well, but some picked close second Harvick especially for their bonuses which came handy for many. Anyway lets get to the standings:

PODIUM

1.) Fsu1dogs-      576 (327) (+77B) (+5) (In a week full of misery and woe, one doghouse stands above all the rest.)

2,) ILL55INI-        566 (253) (+109B) (-1) (Harvick was one heck of a lifesaver for ILL55INI.)

3.) Tigersman-      533 (245) (+0B) (0) (I counted McMurray as your pick instead of Smoke, tell me if you would rather use McMurray for later in the segment than Smoke.)

IN THE CHASE

4.) Chokin Colts-     518 (225) (+59B) (+1) (Uses that 34 handicap of Mears to save a Jr. pick.)

5.) Coach-               517 (268) (+23B) (+1)

6.) Bradman-           511 (198) (+75B) (-5) (Uses bonus to avoid disaster.)

7.) Berlyn-               479 (240) (+23B) (+1)

8.) Roushfenwayguy- 462 (154) (no bonus) (-5) (All three picks couldn't muster a finish better than 30th...)

Well, I may have just have been hit by the Talladega eliminator, but even 114 points over three races with 2 drivers is a feat that can be done. Also Fsu comes out at the best time, Talladega, coming from the chasing the chase category to the lead in one fel swoop! We should have some drama in the last three weeks as this is still anyone's game even after Dega.

All your ineligible drivers will be crossed out next to your name before you make picks.

For the bonus this week, I'm starting to recycle, as I recycled two ideas last year, a have a new plan up for the final race, so I might as well recylce ideas now:
I'll have to go with one lap down. Its simple, guess the first person that is one lap down, (in other words the driver in the lucky dog pos. when the race ends.) and you get +20 points, guess anyone that is one lap down, get +15, if you guess anyone that gets 2 laps down, its +10, 3 or more laps down and you still get +5, if your driver doesn't go a lap down, you get nothing, however, if you pick a driver that gets a DNF, you get -10 points, so just watch out not to pick a DNF driver and you should be good. Again this is optional, but even drivers that crash will likely come back, so its worth taking a shot... just don't pick Dave Blaney or Nemechek, lol.

My two drivers for this week are Matt Kenseth, whom is usually a great runner at Texas. And also Kyle Busch... I'm well aware that Cousin Carl is great here, but he is make or break here, and I want him on another track anyway.

Roushfenwayguy- Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth (Bonus= Marcos Ambrose)

Bradman- Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards (Bonus= Dale Earnhardt Jr.) Kurt Busch, David Ragan, Jeff Gordon

Berlyn- Denny Hamlin, Jeff Burton (Bonus= Kasey Kahne) Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin

ILL55INI- Jeff Gordon, Greg Biffle (Bonus= Regan Smith) Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman

Coach- Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle (Bonus= Brad Keseolwski)  Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer

Tigersman- Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards (bonus= Scott Speed) Kevin Harvick, Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman

fsu1dogs- Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards (bonus= Dale Earnhardt Jr.) Juan Pablo Montoya, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer

Nobody can pick Denny Hamlin EXCEPT Berlyn, or in other words no men can pick Hamlin.

Common Picks:

Carl Edwards- 4

Greg Biffle-     3

Matt Kenseth- 2

Kurt Busch-     2

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 7

One race down, four to go, and the crapshoot is up! Denny Hamlin ended up winning this one... and who picked him... well maybe a better question is who didn't pick him? Berlyn was the only one to not pick Hamlin, but she was the only one to get 2nd, and with a +10 handicap, its almost as good as a first. Lets get right to the standings though:

PODIUM

1.) Bradman-            313 (+15 B)

ILL55INI-                 313 (+20 B) (Newman may have not have done that great, but 45 points of total bonuses sure does help.)

3.) Roushfenwayguy- 308 (+10 B) (Gordon's long streak of top 5s ended yesterday...)

Tigersman-              308 (+30 B) (The only one to correctly pick the bonus, he has quite a knack for maximizing bonus points.)

IN THE CHASE

5.) Chokin Colts-       293 (+15 B)

CHASING THE CHASE

6.) Coach-                249 (+10 B) (Got the winner, but the worst chaser as well.)

Fsu1dogs-                249 (+10 B)

8.) Berlyn-                239 (+10 B) (Martin was a great pick, Bowyer was not.)

3 ties, but of those only one was with identical picks, and overall, we did pretty well but not great, as virtually everyone had one great and one bad driver, things should definetely be mixed up after this next race though, as it is Talladega, this could be the elimination race for many, or the race to get back into the game for the bottom 3 this week, though with 4 races no matter what they are 74 points is easy to make up.

All your ineligible drivers will be crossed out next to your name before you make picks.

For the bonus this week, is the famous and life-saving, or at least life-saving, bonus driver pick! As this is Talladega. This is similar to what Tigersman had, simply pick a third driver as a back-up driver, and if you wish after the race, you may replace your back-up driver with one of your original drivers, thus, replacing the points of your other driver. You can only use this option for this race, so if you wish to use this, then use it. Unlike with Tigersman's bonus, if you use your back-up driver, that driver you will not be able to use again, and the pick that got replaced will be able to be used again. I will automatically switch in back-ups with original drivers if they scored more, but if your back-up driver only scored slightly less than another of your original drivers and you want to use that original driver later, you can tell me that you want to switch drivers. Your bonus can not be a driver you used last race. I'll give examples to try and clear this up.

Ex.1= RFG picks Kenseth, Edwards, and Biffle as a back-up driver. Kenseth gets 170, Edwards 50, and Biffle 120, I will recieve 290 points and I will not be able to use Biffle later in the segment, but I can use Edwards.

Ex.2= RFG picks Kenseth, Edwards and Biffle as a back-up driver. Kenseth gets 170, Edwards 120, and Biffle 117, I may say that I want to use Biffle and sacrifice 3 points to recieve 287, however, I can use Edwards in a later race, such as Texas, where he could get me a lot more points than Biffle there or some other driver.

Ex.3= RFG picks Kenseth, Edwards, and Biffle as a back-up driver, Kenseth gets 170, Edwards 120, and Biffle 50, I will recieve 290 points and I will be able to use Biffle later in the segment.

My two drivers for this week are Jamie McMurray, considering that +10 handicap and that he won at Daytona, Charolette and Indy, but not here this year yet. And Kurt Busch, which usually runs really well here. My back-up will be Jeff Burton, considering he's good at avoiding wrecks.

Roushfenwayguy- Jaime McMurray (+10 handicap), Kurt Busch (BU= Jeff Burton)

Bradman- Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton, (BU= David Ragan (+20 handicap))

Berlyn- Jaime McMurray (+10 handicap), Jeff Gordon (BU= Kyle Busch)

ILL55INI- Kurt Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr. (+10 handicap) (BU= Kevin Harvick)

Coach-  Jamie McMurray (+10 handicap), Kevin Harvick (BU= Kyle Busch)

Tigersman- Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart (BU= Jamie McMurray (+10 handicap))

Chokin Colts- Dale Earnhardt Jr. (+10 handicap), Kasey Kahne (+10 handicap) (BU= Casey Mears (+34 handicap))

fsu1dogs- Jamie McMurray (+10 handicap), Juan Pablo Montoya (+10 handicap) (BU= Jeff Gordon)

Common Picks:

Jaime McMurray- 4

Kurt Busch-         3

Kevin Harvick-     2

Dale Earnhardt Jr.- 2

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 6

Well the second phase is now over, and we will head into the final phase of the game, however, 3 of you will not be able to experience this ending which should be a great one. Going to the race, McMurray won! And obviously nobody chose him, he's a chaser, but many people, actually 5, chose the lineup of 2nd and 3rd, Kyle and Jimmie, meaning a lot of people that didn't pickt hem could find their way out of the game, and even if you did pick them, it may not be enough to save you (though I can only imagine it will be.) So lets find out who is in the final 8!

PODIUM

1.) Roushfenwayguy- 964 (350) (B+0) (Wins the segment to make a statement that he wants to go 2 for 2 in his league!)

2.) Chokin Colts-       936 (365) (B+15)

3.) ILL55INI-             932 (365) (B+15)

NON-PODIUM 900 CLUB

4.) Tigersman-          917 (284) (B+15) (If only he had two Tigersman bonuses...)

5.) Berlyn-                904 (280) (B+10) (Smoke makes Berlyn's hopes of first go up in smoke, but first doesn't really matter anyway...)

800 CLUB/IN THE FINALS CLUB

6.) Coach-                863 (327) (B+25)

7.) Bradman-            857 (375) (B+25) (Right on with the bonus and the drivers chosen (excluding McMurray.))

8.) Fsu1dogs-           831 (269) (B+0)

JUST MISSED THE FINALS CLUB :(

9.) M56Nascar-         751 (365) (B+15) (Almost doubled his score, but it wasn't enough to save him from the huge hole he had.)

10.) Edwardsfan-         679 (261) (B+15) (Bad day for Gordon makes Edwardsfan unable to dig out of his hole.)

11.) Mikeyfan-            663 (276) (B+0) (Mikeyfan, I felt so sorry for you that I decided to give you both your bonus picks toward the bonus :P.)

And so you have it, the final field has been set, Fsu1dogs, the best competitor last year before he got eliminated, makes a statement that the first year wasn't a fluke (in terms of the dominance he had.) Bradman, the runner-up of last year, now the underdog of this year? He has struggled to find winning drivers, and before I stopped with the avg. finish system he was the lowest of active players, but he's still here, underdogs find ways to win. Coach, having his highs and lows in the competition, can he use his pick 3 talent to pick great drivers to win this whole thing? Berlyn, the second of three that made the finals two years in a row, made a statement early in the season, and while she has been getting low in the standings lately, she has still had her high moments, especially this segment, so counting the only girl that started the competition out would be a big mistake. Tigersman, arguably the best performer this season, with the possible exception of Bored at Work and a few others, has glided though the whole season making it to the finals rather easily, but can he win the segment that means the most? ILL55INI, some consider him an underdog, but he is far from, picking the most winners in the regular season, he will have a 15 point advantage over everyone else, not to mention he got though the first two segments with ease. Chokin Colts, the one I would consider the only other underdog with Bradman, made a statement this segment getting second, the best thing about him though is that he has been amazingly consistent, with 5 races, consistency maybe the winning formula. And finally, the winner of last year's season, the man who just won this segment, the guy that's running this whole competition, he could be the favorite to win it all, none other than Roushfenwayguy!!!!! Wink

Lets also give some consideration to those who won't be making it, Edwardsfan made it to the finals last season, so not making it this time is pretty sad. Mikeyfan, a very good pre-chase run, lost it this segment, leaving one of the most colorful players of this competiton just short of the finals yet again. And M56Nascar, he had a lot of segments where he was almost eliminated, yet he always found a way to bounce back, and while he tried for all he had with this race, a two race hole proved to be too much of a hole to bounce back from.

For the next five races, you are not permitted to use the same driver twice w/o a 34 point penalty, thus making it so that everyone must choose 10 unique drivers thoughout the final five races, good luck to all!

Bonus for this week, I really wanted to do fastest lap, however, I'm not sure if I could find this one, if someone can show me where I could find this I may make it a bonus for another race. For this race though, guess how many drivers lead at least one lap. If you guess the exact number, +30 points is yours. For guessing one number away from the actual number, you get +20, 3 numbers away gets +15, 5 numbers away gets +10, and 10 numbers away gets +5, so everyone should get at least +5 unless either you picked an unreasonable number or madness happens. Pretty simpe but I'll give an example:

Roushfenwayguy says that 10 drivers will lead at least one lap, in total, 11 drivers lead at least one lap by race's end, thus, RFG gets +20 bonus points.

This is where picks get tough, because I need to make a map of who I want over all of the next five races and make sure I don't use someone now that I really would want to use in the future... so for this first race, I'm going to go with Jeff Gordon and Denny Hamlin, and for my bonus, I'm going to go with 8 drivers that lead at least one lap.

Roushfenwayguy- Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon (bonus= 8)

Bradman- Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin (bouns= 9)

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 5

A truly devistating week for some, as only half of the chase drivers had days in the top 10, the other half.... none above 20th, obviously a huge spread that could leave some really under the mark, Let's see how the standings changed, as I expect a lot of change went on this week:

Top Lineup: Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer- 365

PODIUM

1.) Tigersman-           633 (316) (+0 B) (+6) (Uses bonus to propel himself 5 spots into the lead.

2.) Berlyn-               624 (348) (+15 B) (+8) (Biggest mover.) (In a week full of misery and woe, there is one shining light, and she was next to last... huge ladder climb! Also she was the only one to get the winner.)

3.) Roushfenwayguy- 614 (253) (+5 B) (0)

NON- PODIUM 550 CLUB

4.) Chokin Colts-       571 (205) (+0 B) (-3)

5.) ILL55INI-             567 (210) (+0 B) (-1)

6.) Fsu1dogs-            562 (210) (+0 B) (-1)

DANGER ZONE

7.) Coach-                 536 (215) (+5 B) (-1)

8.) Bradman-            482 (116) (+15 B) (-7) (Biggest faller) (Not only did he pick the best bonus chosen, likely going the opposite way he imagined, but he also fell off a cliff as he was first before this week...)

9.) Edwardsfan-         436 (139) (+0 B) (-1)

10.) Mikeyfan-           387 (101) (+0 B) (-1) (And we have a new lowest score for a week ever!!! Going to be really hard to dig out of this hole...)

11.) M56Nascar-         386 (124) (+0 B) (0) (Only one to pick Kyle, but that didn't help at all... same hole as Mikey is in.)

So Mikeyfan and M56, even Edwardsfan have their work cut out for them, as the bottom two need about 95 points above Bradman to stay in this thing, or about 150 to Coach... the real race will be to avoid that final elimination spot, though Mikey and M56 are by no means out, their chances, sorry to say, are slim. And all this happened after such a great week last week, but that's what can happen in just one week when Roush Fenway has engine problems with all 3 chase drivers. Also, assume that we have 3 over 600 and Tigersman is the leader right now.

Well let's think of a nice bonus... got one, guess the driver that leads the most laps, again, should be a pretty simple concept, and obviously the winner may not be this guy, could be the guy that crashes with 10 laps to go. Scoring for this is as followed:

For the driver that leads the most laps: +25 bonus points comes your way, if your driver is in the top 3 in laps led, +15, if your driver is in the top 5 in laps led, +10, and if you driver even leads one lap, +5 points. Don't think I need to show examples because this is pretty simple.

For my picks this week, I already stated that I'm using Johnson and Kyle Busch, that isn't going to change either, just need to hope for the best, but I like to think that I'm pretty safe in making it to the finals unless both of them choke. For my bonus, only Jimmie over the past 5 years has more laps led than Kurt Busch, its just that Kurt always finds some way to choke by the end of the race, but he is a great driver to choose for this bonus.

Roushfenwayguy- Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch (bonus= Kurt Busch)

Bradman- Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch (bonus= Kyle Busch)

Edwardsfan- Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon (bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

Berlyn- Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson (bonus= Jeff Gordon)

ILL55INI-  Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch (bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

Coach-  Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards (bonus= Kyle Busch)

Mikeyfan- David Reutimann (+10 handicap), Martin Truex Jr. (+10 handicap) (bonus= Reutimann or Truex????)

Tigersman- Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon (bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

Chokin Colts- Jimme Johnson, Kyle Busch (bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

fsu1dogs- Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson (bonus= Kurt Busch)

M56Nascar- Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch (bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

Common Picks:

Jimmie Johnson- 8

Kyle Busch-         5

Jeff Gordon-        3

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 4

Well, Greg Biffle finally got a win in the chase, usually something he gets earlier, but he's not good in the second half anyway, Jimmie Johnson though also got second, so this spells some doom toward other chasers, but grace for those that decided to roll on him this week. Lets get right to the standings of only 11 now. (+16 or -8 represents bonus)

Top Lineup- Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson/Kevin Harvick/Tony Stewart- 360

PODIUM

1.) Bradman-            366 (+16) (Only one positional driver from a perfect score, of course that +16 sure does help too.)

Chokin Colts-           366 (+16) (Wow lots of people followed the amazing Gordon, Biffle duo.)

3.) Roushfenwayguy- 361 (+16) (Great Roush-fenway duo puts me over the top lineup points!)

NON-PODIUM 300 CLUB

4.) ILL55INI-             357 (-8) (Stayed near the top due to those 15 bonus points.)

5.) Fsu1dogs-            352 (-8) (The perfect lineup! Except that he missed the bonus...)

6.) Coach-                321 (+16)

7.) Tigersman-          317 (-8) (Two great drivers, just no winner.) (Jeff Gordon replacing Carl Edwards= 5 pts, but I doubt 5 pts is worth using it now.)

DANGER ZONE

8.) Edwardsfan-         297 (0) (Only one not to play the bonus game.)

9.) Mikeyfan-            286 (-8) (Faith in Kurt Busch didn't work out as well as planned.)

10.) Berlyn-                276 (+16) (David Reutimann ruins a great run, but at least she got the bonus easily.)

11.) M56Nascar-          262 (+16) (JPM had issues again, leaving the same for M56.)

Really, we had one of the best weeks ever, but don't fret those in the danger zone, there are still two more races, not 1, to redeem your scores, but considering that 3 people are going this segment, you guys will need to fight with this next track. Remember that you can't use the same exact lineup as last time.

10 handicap: 13th through 20th

David Reutimann

+34 handicap (anyone who is below 35th )

FOR THIS SESSION, EVERYONE must swap out AT LEAST 1 driver between week to week, like in weeks 3-14, however, since this is a 3 week session, you must plan better than then, and to make sure of that, I will not allow you to pick a driver all 3 times this session, just swapping out your other driver, and once you swap out a driver, you can't use him again.

Bonus for this week? Guess who will move the most positions in the chase (rise or fall). For the one that falls the most, +25 comes your way (includes all drivers in tie for this criteria.) Next most gets +15, and anyone that at least drops/rises at least 1 pos. will get +5. Here are two examples:

Jimmie Johnson drops 2 positions in chase, while Denny Hamlin drops 5, and all other chasers drop 1 or fewer. Denny Hamlin picks would get +25 points, Jimmie Johnson picks +15, and all others either +5 or 0. Considering that there is no penalty, all should partake in this bonus.

For me, I'm going to use Johnson for the last two races this segment... I'll also save Kyle Busch and go with the obvious Matt Kenseth... probably a lot of people will follow my suit... my bonus will be Kyle Busch coming in for the rebound here.

Roushfenwayguy- Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth (bonus = Kyle Busch)

Bradman- Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards (can't use Greg Biffle 3rd race) (bonus= Carl Edwards)

Edwardsfan- Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth (bonus= Matt Kenseth)

Berlyn- Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart (bonus= Carl Edwards)

ILL55INI-  Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle (bonus= Kurt Busch)

Coach-  Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle (bonus= Greg Biffle)

Mikeyfan- Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle (bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

Tigersman- Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth (bonus= Kurt Busch) (TM bonus= Jimmie Johnson)

Chokin Colts- Jamie McMurray (+10 handicap), Matt Kenseth (bonus= Kurt Busch)

fsu1dogs- Mark Martin, Greg Biffle (can't use Greg Biffle 3rd race) (bonus= Jimme Johnson)

M56Nascar- Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards (bonus= Denny Hamlin)

Common Picks:

Greg Biffle: 5

Carl Edwards- 4

Matt Kenseth- 4

Jimmie Johnson: 3

RFG's Chase Eliminator Week 3

Well, Johnson sure established that he wants that 5th championship and is still the favorite after doubts last week, so who capitalized? 5 people picked him to be exact, which could mean good things for those that did pick him, leaving them in the competition, let's find out just how much people got and which 2 people are going home (B+# is the bonus added to your score) (+/-# is how many pos. you moved up/down from last week's standings.)

Top Lineup: Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano (+20 handicap)- 385

PODIUM

1.) Edwardsfan-         616 (311) (B+13) (+1) (Great performance all around again for Edwardsfan makes him the only person over 600.)

2.) ILL55INI-             599 (350) (No B) (+2)

3.) Mikeyfan-            596 (231) (B+0) (-2) (Guess Mikeyfan learned his lesson about experimenting, but with his lead he could afford it)

NON-PODIUM 500 CLUB

4.) Fsu1dogs=           585 (363) (B+13) (+3) (The betrayel of Mark Martin lands him the top score this week.)

5.) Berlyn-                584 (338) (B+13) (0) (Keeping picks worked nicely for Berlyn (also my RFG bonus pick worked wondersSmile.)

6.) M56Nascar-          576 (325) (B+0) (-3)

7.) Coach-                573 (350) (B+0) (-1)

8.) Chokin Colts-       544 (360) (B+11) (+2) (Wondering how to play the handicaps to get 2nd highest weekly score? Just ask Chokin Colts.)

9.) Tigersman-          531 (331) (B+30) (0) (Doing this good with this week's bonus, who knows what he will do with his own bonus...)

10.) Roushfenwayguy- 521 (355) (B+0) (+3) (A great week this week to rebound from a truly dismal week last week.)

SAFE ZONE

11.) Bradman-            493 (273) (B+4) (-3)

ELIMINATION ZONE

12.) Floridawhite-        402 (218) (B+3) (-2) (Not the kind of week that was expected with two RF drivers.)

13.) Obxyankeefan-    399 (223) (B+14) (-1) (If only Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished one position better... well... you'd still be eliminated, but ahead of Florida at least ;).)

Well, the two that got eliminated don't have much excuse, they both finished over 90 points away from the next person in line, but still, both are great competitiors, one that has been one of the most dominant this season (Obxyankeefan) winning multiple sessions and possibly, but not sure, he may also have had the best avg. session finish pre-chase. The other, someone that made it to the finals last year, leaving just 2/3rds of our field that made it to the finals last year, still pretty good, but with a 3 week 3 person eliminator coming up, anything could happen to those people. Both of you have played great games this year, and thank you guys very much for playing in the game.

Now for bonuses for this session: ILL55INI, because, as I stated before, you got the most wins during the regular season, you get +15 in every segment, including this one.
Tigersman, I told you that I'd give you a bonus due to your regular season dominance, especially at the end, and I'm true to my word, and I am giving you a very strong advantage. Just remember, you must use this in session two (by the end of Lowe's). I don't want you having an advantage for the championship. Your bonus is this, you will be allowed to pick a 3rd "bonus driver" , with this driver, you may use him to replace a driver that you chose as one of your regular drivers at any time, however, you must tell me that you wish to exchange your bonus driver's points with one of your actual chosen drivers before the next week comes around. Once you use your bonus pick, you will not get another one, but if you don't use it, you may still pick a bonus pick for the next week. Should you not use it by the end of Lowe's, I will replace your bonus driver for Lowe's pick with one of your actual drivers that scored lower, should your bonus driver score lower than your other two, than you just don't get to use your bonus pick.

Ex. - Kansas- Jimmie gets 160, Stewart gets 50, and your bonus, Kenseth, gets 60, you may replace Stewart with Kenseth to get 10 bonus points, or you can hold on to your bonus pick in anticipation that you can use it to get more, should something like this happen:
Ex. 2- Auto Club- Jimmie gets 160, Hamlin gets 50, and your bonus, Edwards, gets 150, then you can replace Hamlin with Edwards for a 100 point advantage.
Your bonus will not count toward you being able to use him again later in the segment, even if you choose to use him. And I know its a lot to take in, so if you have any questions feel free to shoot.

The bonus for everyone (including Tigersman and Ill55ini) will be something new this year. With your two picks, simply say which one you think will finish better. Getting this right will get you +16, however, getting this wrong will get you -8. Since there is a penalty, I will make this optional, however, considering that you will win more than you will lose, its probably worth a shot.

For me, its been the Greg Biffle and Jimmie Johnson show here in week's past, so why not use them again? Well, because I don't want to use Johnson yet. So I'll go with Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards and get my RFR drivers out of the way now while they are still hot. Biffle is my pick to finish over Edwards.

Roushfenwayguy- Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards

Floridawhite-

Bradman- Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon

Edwardsfan- Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin

Berlyn- Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon

ILL55INI- Jeff Gordon, Greg Biffle (+15 bonus)

Coach-  Jeff Gordon, Jaime McMurray (+10 handicap)

Mikeyfan- Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson

Tigersman- Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart (bonus= Jeff Gordon)

Chokin Colts- Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon

obxyankeefan-

fsu1dogs- Greg Biffle, Tony Stewart

M56Nascar- Jeff Gordon, Juan Pablo Montoya (+10 handicap)

Common Picks:

Jeff Gordon- 6

Greg Biffle- 5

Carl Edwards- 2

Jimmie Johnson- 2
