First post of the off-season

Well, I don't know about you folks, but I can already smell the grass at the stadium.  That fall weather, smells of popcorn and beer, the excitement in the air.  But wait, it is only July.....but pre-season starts in a couple of weeks, so that has to count for something.  I am getting excited to see what all of the off-season moves will bring to teams this fall.  Will Jason Taylor un-retire and play for the Packers, and is Brett Favre returning?  Only time will tell.  Do my beloved 49ers finally return to the playoffs, with new acquisitions Justin Smith (DE) and Isaac Bruce (WR),  among others.  Can the Jaguars finally get ahead of the Colts in the standings?  Do the Giants even make the Playoffs this year?  Can Matt Leinart finally get this NFL thing down and actually play for the Cardinals, or is he destin to be the biggest flop around?  Can the Saints make Reggie Bush the star that he could be?  The Falcons picked up Michael Turner from the Chargers, and drafted high profile QB Matt Ryan.  Will they make a difference?  Can the Bengals ever live up to thier potential?  With players like Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, the Bengals should be one of the better teams in the NFL, but why aren't they?  Will Brady Quinn ever get to quarterback the Browns, or does Derek Ander become the man for years to come?  Are the Patriots still the elite team in the NFL, or perhaps the Colts?  Which team is going to suprise everyone and make the playoffs?  Every team has questions, positives and negatives.  Only time will tell who made the right moves and who blew it this offseason.  In the next segment, I will break down the NFC West, team by team, and give you my picks on which team finishes where.
