It's over(Sandusky)

Justice is served! I hope that we all learn something from this. You absolutely, unequivocally CANNOT trust ANYONE! If you are a father of a child, you cannot allow your son or daughter to be put in a situation where they depend on some organization like Second Mile, the church or any institution to care for them. Sick people are a man and care for your own child and protect them. Don't runaway from responsibility because it's hard. The story is, young single mothers allow boys to participate in Second Mile like organizations because FATHERS are ABSENT. Don't be ABSENT!!!!

My final word on Penn State!!

We are basically helpless just like the kids now grown up, yet still helpless in many ways. These message boards and blogs give us a place to vent and let it all out and for that I am thankful. I have two kids, a young woman and young man that I can't even imagine being subject to this type of abuse. There are so many less fortunate kids out there and Sandusky preyed on them. A seemingly goog thing, this Second Mile is now forever tarnished because so many of the presumed adults running the place were derelict, negligent and criminal. The very youth's who were most at risk were taken advantage of in the worst way imaginable by individuals in that community that were just downright sick. Everyone top to bottom that knew of the abuses from years past till today are beyond guilty.

There is nothing more that really needs to be done except what is right for once. Over a decade of abuse and hopefully someone with courage must stand up and say no more. I sincerely hope the citizens of Pennslyvania will demand justice.

More on the Penn State Affair!

Got to thank one of the message board alumni on this site for posting the grand jury report.

First...Technically and likely legally, Joe Paterno did what he was supposed to do and reported this 2002 incident to the proper authorities above him at the school. But upon further review and thought on my part I think not!

In 2002 Jerry Sandusky was no longer a coach. Yes he had access to the facilities but he was no longer on Joe Paterno's staff. So Joe followed a course of action that is mind boggling. A former coach that Joe Paterno knew had a history of bad behavior with minors was found by a member of Joe's coaching staff having sex or indecent conduct with an estimated to be 10 year old kid. Joe decides to elevate this up the chain of command and informs the President of the University. Multiple versions of the crime now are in question but at the end of the day no one called the police. All of them were familiar with the past behavior but they still did nothing. Everyone connected with those chain of events in 1994, 1998 and 2002 have to be gone and gone immediately. This is the sickest thing since the ongoing Catholic Church saga that has likely been going on for thousands of years.

Paterno and Crew!

Who remembers the ESPN special with Coach K and Paterno on Faith Family and Leadership. What a sham! The university knew about this persons conduct as far back as 1998. A young boy came forward and reported a crime and the mother called "university police". An investigation ensued and some county D.A. decided not to file charges???? Amazingly this persons affiliation with the organization with all these at risk youths continued through 2010!!!

Then the 2002 sex with a 10 year old goes down on campus after this person was no longer even an assistant with the team and current assistant, then 28 year old grad assistant actually witnessed the crime and told his dad who said he should tell Paterno. Paterno upon hearing this tells the Penn State leadership that something of a sexual nature happened and then nothing happened.I am stunned!

Penn State Football should be no more until everyone associated with this regime is gone! Period!

College Footbal Realignment! Say it ain't so!!

Time to chime in and say my piece. I have watched a lot of college football. I date back to the days of the Big 8 Conference when the Friday after Thanksgiving meant Nebraska v. OU to see who would play in the Orange Bowl and many times for the National Title. Where the OU v. Texas rivalry (still intact) was Big 8 v. SWC (Southwest Conference for those of us who remember).

Times change and we have all dealt with it for better or for worse. This latest shift is hitting me like the earthquake that happened in the D.C. area (I work at the Pentagon and felt it) who would've thunk it?

Enough already!! This rapid escalation of movement is too much too soon and it appears the carts are way before the horses. The tectonic plates are not just shifting they are colliding and volcanoes are erupting.

Why? College Football needs a playoff not a major realignment of universities into super conferences that severely disrupt regional rivalries, and common sense alignment of opponents. We supposedly can't have a playoff because it would affect the student athlete??? Really, and making TCU, Nebraska and whoever else is moving today travel all over the North American Continent every week is good for the student athlete. C'MON MAN!

I don't want to stop watching College Football but I just cannot wrap my head around OU in the PAC anything. Oklahoma is smack dab in the middle of the United States it has nothing to do with Pacific anything and never should. Nebraska moving to the Big Ten is enough of a blow but now A&M and OU are basically out unless Baylor, KU and K-State have the guts to appeal and hold this up in some kind of legal limbo.

There isn't much we can do but speak out and that is what I'm doing. If you like this post, share it with your friends and local media outlets everywhere. I know how to blog but I don't know the ends and outs of getting my blog out there for the world to see!.

Oklahoma Footbal Sooners

Boy, boy, boy...these kids amaze me every week. Stoops and the Sooners continue to dominate. Too bad we don't have a playoff system so we could really determine on the field who is the best.

I would love to see the Big 12, SEC, Pac 10, Big Ten, ACC and the Big East duke it out on the field over the next few weeks. You would have to allow some of the Utah/Boise States in the mix and then we would have something worth watching. For now I will just satisfy myself with another stellar year from the Crimson and Cream of Oklahoma University Sooner Football Team.

Congratulations Sooners on a great year. I look forward to watching the Sooners dismantle whoever they play in early January 2009.
