With the WSOP only 8 days a way I was wondering what people were thinking - Will fields be smaller than prior years? Do you like the elimination of rebuy events? Do you like the higher buy-in events? Also, ESPN is going to show less (none) of the early events and focus more on the Main Event, especially Day 1 - do you think this is good or bad?
I think the fields will be smaller. The economy has had a significant impact on the size of fields for WPT events and the WSOP won't be immune to this trend. This should favor the known pros and top internet players, especially for the larger buy-ins. I expect guys like Hellmuth, Ivey & Negreanu to have big years as well as Galfond, Durrrr & Townsend. There are more bracelets available than ever and the top players will be out in full force.
