Is there hope?

As a Vikings fan, coming into this year, I had a feeling it was going to be a long season. Now that it's over I dont feel any better. We have more questions than answers. With any luck here is how we come back. One of our weaknesses is wide reciever. I dont know if drafting a wr is the best way to go, I think there is a lot of talent out in the free agent market.Mike Wallace, DeSean Jackson, Marques Colston just to name a few. I know that some will resign with there teams, but our management must make a push to get real talent at this position. Our defence was bad.At no time is ok to lose that many games after having the lead in the fourth quarter. Injuries have really hurt the secondary.Once again there is some help out there in the market. I think for the draft we have to take the unsexy move and draft an o-lineman in the first round. If we dont fix the line it doesnt matter who our qb is. There are ways to come back next season and have a better year, but as long as the ownership and management keep putting a bad product on the field we will continue to have long seasons.

Draft Strategy

I am slightly nervous that the Vikes may squander an opportunity to draft for need vs a top player.  On one hand we need an incredible O-Lineman, and on the other, the defense is playing with 3rd string DB's.  As fans there will be no say so but who thinks trading down for draft picks is a poor decision?

New Stadium

Does anybody know what's going on with a new stadium in Minnesota?  I had read somewhere that the state would put up so much towards the stadium and the Vikes had to cover the rest.  I think I had also read somewhere that the sale of the Metrodome was offered to the Vikings so a new stadium wouldn't have to be built.  Does anyone know what's going on?

So we finally got to see Ponder debut for the Vikes.  All in all I wouldn't say that he had a bad performance by any means.  Yes, he had two int's but we gotta remember he's just a rook.  As time goes on though we won't be able to use that as an excuse.  Ponder will only get better  with every snap he takes.  I just wish that he'd been the starter from day one as McNabb's days in the NFL are numbered.  AP had a strong day.  I'm not liking Harvin missing time cause of injuries, seems like that has been the story since he's been in the NFL.  When he's healthy he's a stud.  When he can't play they definitely miss his play.  Jared Allen is the man when it comes to their defense.  It also doesn't help when your top two DB's are out because of one being injured and the other being in jail.  I know there isn't much hope of making the playoffs but the rest of the season Ponder will get the experience he needs.  I think over time he'll turn into a great QB, but he's gonna take his lumps.  GO Vikings!!!

Well, we drafted Ponder much higher than anyone expected, and now its finally time to see him in action. What does everyone expect to see from him? At least he's the starter, here's hoping our draft war room is smarter than they seemed on draft day!! Go Vikes!
