9-0...and rollingNovember 15, 2011 5:58 pm
The Pack continue to roll right along with the offense dominating and the defense certainly begining to pick it up. Although many pundits continue to say the Thanksgiving game will be the railroad to a perfect season (and let's be clear, it is still way early to be thinking perfection), I am seeing the Giants in New York as the toughest game remaining on the schedule. The Pack is basically built to upend all dome teams. Wouldn't be surprised to see them handle the Lions fairly comfortably, especially if Stafford is injured. But a December game in New York, not to mention the Giants pass rush, can slow the offense down. In any event, great to see them keep on churning. Tough game ahead in San Diego, don't be fooled by the record. San Diego will be a good tet for the Pack not to metion they are on the road in a hostile environement. Although they last last week in embarassing fashion, i predict the bolts will give the champs thier best shot. However I think the Pack's offense will be too much and hopefully the secondary play improves to assist with that. I would also like to see the Packers run the ball to give the D some rest, don't get me wrong, quick scoring drives are nice but some rest for D is always a plus. Bottom line Packers win and go 8-0. The Pack is dead last in the league in time of posession while 4th in scoring. They have more TD drives of 5 plays or less than any other team. Point: we need to run a bit more. And stop all those 90 yd TDs to Jordy for pete's sake. that's why the D is giving up s many yds. They are just tired. Then step it up a notch to make the big play to stop the score. Slow down Aaron. Give the D a rest. (it's a nice problem to have) Category: NFL The Packers are 7-0 going into the byeOctober 25, 2011 9:32 pm
Well things couldn't have gone much better for the Packers being 7-0 but there is still room for improvement on the defense, and sometimes our offense seams a little stagnate, but you have to like our chances if getting home field advantage and a bye in the playoffs. and a good chance of repeating at the Super Bowl. Biased writer James Carlton with his week 4 gradeOctober 3, 2011 12:48 pm
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/featur es/writers/prisco/grades/week4 Fellow Packers fanatics, What an absolute annihilation of an inferior opponent yesterday (and, rightfully so). These are the kind of statement games that are both inspirational and necessary. Yet, whoever provides the weekly grades for Green Bay (James Carlton) doesn't seem to think so. In Week 2, Green Bay basically got a B, for giving up a garbage time TD to Carolina..yet still put up a winning effort, 30-23. No mention of the come from behind (recall 13-0) victory. In Week 3, Green Bay gets a B+ for the 27-17 winning effort against the Chicago Bears in Soldier Field. I'm sorry, but any time you can go into a hostile environment like Soldier Field and get a win, nonetheless by 2 posessions, it merits consideration. According to Carlton, "the seven penalties were too many". My favourite was his comment that states "We haven't seen 'A-level' football from the defending champs yet." A-level huh? I guess falling behind 27-3 and then coming back for a 34-30 victory would merit an A. It did for a team like the Detroit Lions. I just don't understand what the Packers have to do to get a little respect from this writer. Does he want a 96-3 win with 4 special teams TD's and 6 blocked FG attempts? What does it take? Not that it really matters, but Packer Nation should be proud of the defending Superbowl champs for the way they are playing and with the intensity that they are playing. 2 of the next 3 games look promising. I think if we can get a win at the Georgia Dome next week, then we should be 7-0 come the bye week. Atlanta is hot at home, and should be worried as Seattle exposed their defense with their (near return) to winning form yesterday. It's not a question of if, but when Rodgers sees those defensive shortcomings, I think Atlanta will be in for a little bit of a rude awakening!! GO PACK GO!! Category: NFL |
