Welcome New Members

We want to welcome all new members to the Sports Bar. Where we try to be one big family. Please feel free to post on user comments or start a new post of your own. It is truely sad that the football season is past and done. Can't wait till it starts up again. lol. This time of year I am mostly into horse racing. A new year and a new hope that we will have another triple crown winner. Most of you are into basketball, baseball or other sports. I kind of keep up with other sports, but my favorites is football and horse racing. So please feel free to post about almost anything you like. From sports to family life.

Small Market Super Bowl

January 29, 2011 7:34 pm

It's so nice to see the salary cap working in football.  This year's SB has two small market teams - Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh.  It makes me wonder how much better baseball could be if a similar salary cap were implemented.  Think of it - a Brewers/Pirates World Series.

2010 Salaries (millions):
33.0 A-Roid
24.3 CC Sabathia
22.6 Derek Jeter
20.6 Mark Teixeira
16.5 AJ Burnett
15.0 Mariano Rivera
13.1 Jorge Posada

206.7 Yankees Team Total
145.1 Just the 7 above listed Yankees
81.1   Brewers Team Total
34.9   Pirates Team Total

Yes, A-Roid made within $1.9MM of the ENTIRE Pirates team!!  If you take just the top 7 Yankee players' salaries, they would have been the 4th highest paid "team" in MLB!!

Patriots Go Home.

Jets beating the Colts was sad for me. Jets beating the Pats was fantastic! Giants beating the 18-0 Pats PRICELESS!!!

Clippers beat the Lakers

January 16, 2011 6:59 pm

The Clippers took it to the Lakers today and even up the series at 1. Truth be said they should have a 2-0 lead but couldn't hold a 5 point lead with a min 1:16 left in the first game. The clippers are showning sighns they belong after the knocked off a Heat team who won 13 straight. The playoffs are probably out off the question but if they keep wining who knows?
