I'm affraid it's all over on the south side. The good news, it's also over on the north side. Let's get out of Minn. and blow up the dome on our way home. All that's left is to make sure the Sox come home with a win on Thursday. That's all that matters now.

When this ball comes down, this season will be ova.
Now it's Bears time; looking forward to a Sox 2010 season that's over .500. This season is ova.September 13, 2009 9:39 am
El Duderino scratched at the surface with some good observations. With the addition of Peavy, 2010 could start with three or four possible twenty game winners. There's some appearant talent around the organization to fill the five slot. They have to empty the pitching staff of anyone who threw middle relief this year. Additionally, I think Jenks is close to the end of his usefulness. Is it the TV or does he look like he weighs 400 pounds?
The Sox have gotten so far away from the small-ball concept that won the series in 05, that it's pitiful. I wish I had a buck for everytime the middle of the order couldn't convert scoring situations because they went for the homer and ended up w/ a K. Shorten your swing and hit it somewhere. There's a lot for Williams to look at personnel-wise and Ozzie needs to stress the playing points forgotten since the end of game four against Houston in 05. We might be done with 2009, but the future looks really bright. We'll have one of the best starting rotations in baseball in '10. I really hope we pick up Dye's option, who knows what will happen now since we're going to need another left handed bat. With any luck, Dotel won't be back, maybe we could trade Linebrink -- that would be addition by subtraction right there. Kenny really wants to get Chone Figgins, I'd take him in a heartbeat. This should be an interesting off-season, you know Kenny won't sit on the roster we have now -- he's going to make improvements. Here's to the 2010 season! I think you're the first to call it.
Now that they have traded away the very likable Jim Thome and the used to be loved Jose Contreras, it looks like the White Sox themselves have called it quits as well. All we have now is hope that Jake Peavy comes back before the end of the season and shows the fans what the team paid for. The same goes for Alex Rios who needs to prove to the fans that he can be the same guy he was two years ago. At the very least these guys are still very young and it appears the White Sox have some great young talent assembled for the next several years. Let's tip our hats to Kenny Williams for giving Thome a chance to still win it all in L.A. and for doing his offseason shopping of Rios and Peavy early. Let's go Go-Go White Sox! |
