OK, ladies and gentlemen. I think this is a great opportunity to start a thread where all Patriots' fans can come and share their thoughts on the latest happenings with their favorite team' the Patriots!
Or you can vent about a bad day, leave a message for a fellow buddy, leave a ransom note, a joke of the day or just come in to share a random thought. Seeing Neil's, GT's and my banter might entertain a few of you, as well, and you're welcome to join in on it. (GT and Neil, this is your cue to participate, by the way ).
Welcome!
First question: How do you feel about the latest pillaging of the Patriots staff? Let's hear it, comPatriots!
If I may be so presumptuous, I'll start. Ahem...cough...okay, I'm ready.
That rat faced weasel turd flyspeck baby faced arse-mouthed overrated liver tongued punk of a so-called coach--yes, I speak of Mangini--has stolen one of out coaches. In case you haven't heard, it looks like Brad Seeley is going to join man-genie's (picture him dressed like Barbara Eden) staff in Cleveland. That feels like more of a betrayal than Pioli or McDaniel leaving the fold, and I'm pissed off about it.
First off, I was waiting for the "Norm!" greeting. Oh, well.
why is everyone jumping ship all of a sudden?
I think it started a couple of years ago and with the success they had last year, that sealed it. A couple of teams showed interest in Pioli, who decided to stay, but with Dimitroff having success on his own, he probably figures he'd give it a shot too.
McDaniels probably felt he wasn't ready last year but with another year under his belt, he couldn't resist the call.

Couldn't have said it better, Red. lol
And to me, it's not so much that Seely is leaving but who he's leaving for. Is it a promotion for Seely or a lateral move?
ahhh... something we English excel at.... Pillaging. (actually there is another word we associate with Pillaging in England but not going there on a family board even though Dawnie is trying to goad me into it)
I think this is an awesome social thread to start, maybe we can all get to know each other a little better. The world is a big place we all need as many friends as we can get.(Personally I have as many as I can handle but I will play along anyway!!!)
I guess you have to see and understand that this is a copycat league and what better place to get your cats from the top dogs ( ermm...something does not sound right about this!)
This will be a very interesting offseason, so many questions and so few immediate answers. There is an illusion amongst many Patriot fans that you can keep plugging in anyone and the "system" will take care of itself, that is far from the truth.
The Patriots cupboard is as bare as it has ever been in upcoming talent in the front office and coaching staff and there will have to be a new influx of personal at one level or another. I think Pete Mangurian will be the one to get the offensive co-ordinators job but equally I would not be shocked to see someone come in from the outside.
The player side of the Patriots I am not concerned about this season, it is next season that worries me. The coincidence of all the potential big name free agents we could lose or have to chose who to keep is a very large list, that allied to the prospect of an uncapped season means the long term strategies previously employed will need to be changed.
If we lost Bill Belichick for any reason right now there is no doubt in my mind that it would totally devastate the franchise, something I am sure Robert Kraft is all too well aware of.
I love my football, I love my Patriots but taking a wider view of the game is always a healthy outlook for all fans, I have said it many, many times as Patriots fans this decade we have been totally spoilt and incredibly lucky.
Seely moving on huh....well it seems to me I was doing some growling about our special teams, saying it needs to improve and somethings got to happen and Seely needs to self evaluate himself....but I didn't mean this....
Jeez dude, it was only a little constructive critizism, didn't mean to run you off.
I know we rank pretty good overall is special teams I just wish we would develope some second string players to do the returning aspect of it. I cringe everytime I see Ellis Hobbs aor Wes Welker returning kicks.
Seely's defection is very surprising, you have got to believe he and Belichick hit a road block somewhere in their relationship this last season he had been here 9 years.
As Dawnie started this thread I believe all bar tabs shoud be sent to her for payment, if she cannot be located I know her twin would be more than happy to take care of them for us all.
Goad is not in my vocabulary. Encourage, maybe, but not goad.

Agreed 100%. As a fan, you always hope they bounce back from things like this but I can die happy with just one Super Bowl win nevermind three!
As long as they stay competitive, I'm satisfied. Going down like the 49ers is something I don't want to see. It's taken a very long time for them to come back.
well our return game was better then our coverage game.. i thought we gave up way to many big plays on special teams.. Gost was a bright spot for our sp team ... glad he made it to the probowl as overrated as it is.
Brits use to excell at pillaging... now they just resort to banter and silly taunting ... * see Monty Python comment on the other thread* There hasnt been a good pillaging in England since... well siince i cant think of a good line there.. insert your own...
Thanks for starting this up DB .. look forward to sharing the off season with freinds and Patriot fans...
Some of us Brits are still pretty darn good at pillaging....
DJ Your analysis is as usual spot on you have definitely got some understanding of this game but as you are aware it is vastly different from Aussie Rules Football ( Not be confused with a free for all) Our return game was excellent but our coverage cost us bigtime on more than one occasion.
Who are the Bruins, oh got it college team WB Mason Bruins... how cute!
Pioli will definitely be missed, and had a good run with the Patriots, but I still have alot of confidence in Big Bill and believe he is in total control of this. Alot of challenges headed for him this off season.

At least the Bruins are named after something intimidating. Red Wings? A spoked wheel logo from a Montreal AAA club. Do they threaten to tow you, if you win?
