This thread has been created for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this!!! If you have an area of expertise - Pac-10, AFC East, Big East, NHL, etc. - please make some LOCK choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "LOCK". The difference between a PICK and a LOCK is that a PICK is a game you like, a LOCK is a game that you KNOW. We are here to help each other win. If you are claiming your choice is a LOCK, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING -

I take it upon myself to donate my time and track everybody's LOCK every day, as long as you agree to do your part by doing a few simple things. I will not track your picks if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, I won't be putting your LOCK on the spreadsheet.

- Post only 1 LOCK per day.  You may post a MAXIMUM of 4 LOCKS per week.  A week starts on Monday, and ends on Sunday.  Choose NCAA, NBA, NFL, or NHL.  You do not have to stay in one sport.  Spread them around if you like.

- No "buying" points.

- First half lines are OK.  No second half or quarter lines.  We want the LOCKS posted early enough so we can all benefit.  Time constraints make second half lines too tough to track.

- No other "line-manipulations: like teasers, etc.

- No props.

- No moneylines.

- Hockey and soccer plays need to be -129 or better.  No HUGE favorites for LOCKS.  If you have a -200 line or something, take the -1.5 goals if you feel like it is still a LOCK.

- Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the LOCK doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

And, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an original explanation as to why you KNOW this LOCK will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. And if you are going to try and fool us by cutting and pasting from another website, at least figure out how to remove all the HTML and other garbage. People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation. They are stats that any of us can get anywhere on the internet. Also, how about if you have actually SEEN the team play that you pick. I'd say that if you haven't seen a team play at least a few times, you can't really be an expert on said team.

I will try to get CONSENSUS statistics out before the first tips each day around 3:40 PM, PST.  There is no guarantee, however.

Miami and V tech both need this game big time to get to the big dance so expect a hard in your face game not like that earlier game that ended  88-83. Last year in the first round V Tech and Miami score 63-49. The game is at 12:00 noon eastern time early start low scoring under biggggggggg

Overall (4-2-0) because of a mssive screw by portland st...Dominated the 2H until the final 5 minutes when they went ICE cold and couldnt buy a basket...Oh well it happens

i like the under in va tech/u also, line is moving quick.  i got it at 136.  This game is gonna be full of intensity with the defense being the focus, you can pretty much throw away the regular season game for any trends.

   There is one game just staring me in the face on Thursday. I'm sure that people will call it a trap or a sucker play but I don't care. I expect this number to go up so I will play it tonight. I know that Oho U will play with great intensity trying to avenge the 30+ pt loss they suffered at BG on Sunday. I am sure that they will play better and be more competetive but this line is short and they basically need to win the game, I can't see this happening.

     BG's 2-3 zone defense has given OU fits this season and BG has been very good on the defensive end against everyone lately. The Bobcats have really struggled away fron the Convo in conference this season and while this is not a road game Cleveland is nowhere near Athens. BG on the other hand went 6-2 on the road in conference including a 1 pt win at Ohio. The Bobcats managed just 91 pts in 2 games against BG this season. I can't see Ohio putting up big offensive numbers in this one and when the initial intensity wears off the Falcons will be able to extend the lead because they are simply the better team.

      I took Stanford as my lock yesterday even though they were giving 6 against a team that had handled them twice in the regular season because I felt that they were the better team despite the earlier results. That's not the case here. BG will be prepared to take OU's best shot early and I have little doubt that they will overcome it and cruise to the win. Got kind of lucky with Stanford on Wed. but hopefully won't need any luck here.

 Well, since the games started this afternoon I was already doing extensive research on tomorrow's games. I haven't done this in a few years, but, I am playing the entire card tomorrow. There are a lot of coin flips, but...there was definitely something appealing in each game that made me go one way or another. We will see what happens. In the SEC im really on to one game in particular. Georgia vs Miss St..... Miss St. comes into the first round of the tourney with an impressive notch under their belt, beating Ole Miss on the road.( I know they were still in Mississippi lol) Now they face a Georgia team that knocked them out of last years SEC tourn. In that game Miss St. was a 10pt fave and lost 64-60. So heres todays line ....

Miss st. -9.5  ????????? Im still trying to figure this thing out. Does Georgia do'em again or do they get to avenge that loss and slap the Bulldogs around like Mike Vick at a k9 convention. I would like to find out more about this over inflated line so I will wait and see.

P.S. What in the hell is a K9 convention

 NIGHTCAPPER'S LOCK OF THE DAY, 100% Confident in a Conference I CAP THE HELL OUT OF!

Hey guys, I'm back. It's been a long time away from the CBS threads as I've spent much of my time at another thread but I'm back today. I have a HUGE play that I'm posting as my LOCK OF THE DAY.....here we go!

ARKANSAS (+9.5) vs Florida

One word, the DePaul start to their conference! I love Arkansas to shock the world against a team that is trying to make the Dance. Arkansas will be loose and ready to play versus a counterpart that is going to press, knowing only a win will get them closer to a Dance ticket. Only 3 current rostered players have played in the SEC tournament and this is the perfect recipie for a Florida takedown. Arkansas's last 6 games haven't been a complete disaster, as they have shot above 41% or better from the field in each. Their final game against Vandy was a fluke game as they shot 29% from the field after notice of suspension of a crucial part of the team. Florida is 3-7 on the road (neutral) and have only covered once in their last 5 appearances. Florida's shooting touch has gone down hill as of late and they are averaging 5% or more in drop off in offensive production the last 6 games including a 2 point loss to Georgia, the 2nd worst team in the SEC. Fortson and Washington are Freshman and Juniors with hopes of seeing what they have for the 2010 campaign. There are more impressive Freshman on Arkansas's squad, including a multi talented underclassmen bench which have everything to look forward to and nothing to lose. Freshman Rotnei Clarke has made four or more 3 pointers in 8 of the last 9 games, 43.2 percent overall. Over that same stretch our boy Courtney Fortson has averaged 16.3 points per game, .07 ahead of Clarke. Considering 2 Juniors and 2 Freshman lead the ARK team in scoring, I have to like the leadership differences. This team is versitle with a lot to look forward to. Arkansas's team chemistry will only soar as they have 2 incoming recruits that are 94 ratings or higher so there is nothing but good to look forward to next season. Arkansas hung tough with the best in the SEC as they lost by 10 @ LSU followed by a 3 point loss to LSU in Arkansas. It took Overtime for South Carolina, 2nd best SEC team, to beat Arkansas in the middle of the schedule. 90% of immediate, initial money is on Florida which calls for an extreme public play. Florida is 3-7 in their last 10 ATS as well as 0-4 ATS in Neutral court games when the total is 145-149.5.  Arkansas is 1-0 this year and 11-7 ATS in the same circumstances on Neutral courts. Arkansas is averaging 69.4 points per game on OFF in games that are on the road or neutral courts this season while Florida is allowing 75.5 points per game to their opponents in the same circumstances.

I have followed the SEC extensively this year and all I have to say is that Arkansas WILL cover this game and could pull off a HUGE upset and knock Florida from the possible NCAA birth. Keep this quote in mind from Arkansas's coach and Junior leaders.....

“I have been pleased with the resiliency of this team to come back and work. I anticipate us being excited and playing our best game of the year.”

“They know it’s a one-and-done situation. We’ve talked about it. We will have to win four games.

0-2 on the ice last night, I really thought Car was the play, wrong side of the shoot out, soooo close. Book_it, tought break with the lock, it was there. Lots of games tonight, good luck to all.

UK-7?????????????????  Please tell me you are kidding Vegas..Kentucky shouldn't even be favored to win this game.  This is simply where we see a tradition/name team being the favorite just because WE ARE KENTUCKY.  Yes, UK is capable of it and we will see how they respond with there backs against the wall.  I have a feeling this is for Billy G's job as UK Pres. Lee Todd told the Lexington Herald that him and Mitch Barnhardt(A.D.) will have to sit down and talk about the stability of the job.  That usually spells BAD NEWS if you are a coach at UK.  I just don't see how this U.K. team is even favored to win the game, and then win by at least 7..NO WAY!  Fishy Line indeed and reminds me of the Stanford/Ore. St game last night.  Very well could see this again tonight...Me being from the BLuegrass State and being a HUGE U.K. backer makes me somewhat biased.  But I have followed this team all year/every year.  Be very cautious with this play.  ALOT AT STAKE FOR KENTUCKY!!!!!!  Best of Luck today my friends

Vegas has been off all year with KY..... Early in the season I watched then capping way under on UK and slightly adjusting for 9 SU ATS UK covers before they fumbled..... UK was a beast ATS the first half of the season....  Please pray that team shows up today!

Large athletic dept meet every season end to discuss the next seasons expectations, proble for Billy is the Spoiled fans and Boosters have so much control they will shortsightedly want him uprooted.... Just like I told fans a few years ago.... So you don't like tubby?? Who is available and better right now?

BG lives in a pressure cooker, should have legion and Jasper on the team and should have an open spot on the team that Jared CArter is wasting!  Give BG a chance for atleast another season and hope that he finds some game time sideline emotion!
