Hawks, It didn't sink in yet that Kyle would be running the Grand-Am race and Cup race on the same Sunday July 4th from Daytona. I see the Grand-Am race is first. Yeah I bet that's going to big for Grand-Am, hopefully a lot of Nascar fans go to the Grand-Am race also!
That's cool that you got Darren Law to answer some Questions! Are you going to try do the same set up as with Andy and maybe Pippa? or are you just going to get Questions from us here at the Lizards Lair and post the Answers here? Yes Darren Hawks will be at Road America! I hadn't seen Jennifer's post on the Flying Lizards website yet about Darren hitting the Oil on the track that sent him into Tire Wall and Metal Barrier behind it. Thanks.
The ALMS race with Dale Jr. was the one where his car burst into flames inside the cockpit wasn't it?
AZ, thanks for bringing your racing knowledge to the Flying Lizards Lair thread, I enjoy your posts! Keep it coming!
Yoko, I added Darren, Joerg, Patrick Long and Andy Lally at facebook and they acceted me no problem. I'll have to see if I can find any Nascar drivers at facebook just for the heck of it as like Hawks says they wouldn't have much time to interact with their Rock Star status. Maybe some Nationwiders or Trucks drivers? I'll have to look around.

Hey Bow and residents of the Lair. Bow, you should try and show up at some time other than the middle of the night.
I'll post a thread on Darren today. It is pretty soon after the Andy thread but I want to get his answers in for the July 4th race.
Pippa Mann is in the works and we have been discussing a feature on Robertson Racing. Asking the Robertson's, David Murry, LK and possibly their crew chief would be interesting. That would be a good one for July 18th when the ALMS returns.

BOW - Love your av, love the kids tallent just wish he could deal with some of his head noises so he can start winning again.

That was at SearsPoint. I found it interesting listening to Larry Mac say that Dale Jr really doesn't like road courses. Hello Larry you Dumb A _ _, no one twisted his arm to climb in the Corvette at Daytona and SearsPoint. Another media B _ _ _ _ making up his own stories because Junior isn't doing well.
How about this Larry Mac, Dale is gone and most of us in the racing world loved him and miss him, Junior will always be just that, just Junior. Stop making excuses for him. The facts are and I know this personally Larry Mac and Dale Sr. would often head over to DEI and help Tony Sr. with set ups, this was in 96,97 & 99 for sure. Since Dale's accident and passing, Junior has slid backwards will continue to be just a mid pack racer through his career with getting a win every now and then. I like Dale Jr I just don’t like everyone acting like he’s a 7 time Cup champ that can do no wrong.
Sorry Flying Lizards, not the right place for this post but after talking to some guys with Team Red Bull yesterday, Larry Mac and is B.S. comment was fresh in my mind - my bad - Mohave

No problem AZ. We talk about anything here at the Lair. Besides, it was Junior's ALMS crash during practice that brought up the issue.
USC FAN, No problem and take your time in choosing a favorite. If you follow Grand Am and the ALMS you can choose 6 favorites. Four CLasses in ALMS and two in Grand Am. Actually, make that twelve. Two drivers per car.
I am heading out tomorrow for a five day volleyball tournament in Louisville. After that we are done for the year. Well, at least until the July clinics begin and high school volleyball starts in August.

Hawks, I will try get here more during the day. I'll try come up with something actually halfway intelligent to ask Darren but please don't hold your breath on that one. You'll get as Purple as Goofy, lol
AZ (Mohave), I love your posts please bring as many here as you want about anything at all. Thanks for the AV comment, Kyle's just my Favorite Nascar driver and I stick to my Guns ..I've been a Rowdy fan for years now.
Hey USC FAN, good to see you here and pick any teams or drivers you want as having rivals always makes it more interesting to watch. Even tho I am a Rowdy fan I am very respectful to others opinions and I will be rooting for Kyle and Scott Sharp along with Darren Law and David Donohue in the Brumos 58 Porsche.
OffTopicPoster, are you the Mayor's Assistant? lol

Bow - I am a Kyle fan as well. I think his talent is absolutely sick but he really needs to bring the attitude in check a tad. Only so that he quits shooting himself in the foot all the time and that will roll over to wins for him. Rick Mears once gave me some great advice and after I applied it, I won more races and it really helped me with life outside of racing. The advice is simple, run your life on and off the track at 90 percent, remember to finish first you first must finish. Who's going to argue with a 100 time Indy 500 winner? Ok - not that many - LOL
Have a great weekend - Mohave

Mohave, thank you for your post. Those are fine words of wisdom. The reason I root for Kyle includes my personal unmaturity till I hit say my early to Mid 30's (I am 49) and a brotherly rival. I became a Kyle fan in 2004 when I saw what I thought was going to be the next great driver in Nascar.
I was a loose knit fan of Nascar for most of my life with my favorite drivers over the years being Ricky Rudd then Jeff Gordon and then Tony Stewart (and to think Tony and Jeff are 1 - 2 in points this year. Ooops my bad, lol) I started playing in Nascar Fantasy games with my Brother and friends in 2001 and by I would say 2003 considered myself a big Nascar fan. When I saw Kyle in a Busch race in 2004 I thought I am now a big fan of Nascar and needed a new up and coming driver to follow. I have stuck with him through bad and good times and I always will now as I've become a hardened true fan.
100 time Indy 500 winner? I got a good laugh with that comment but the point was well taken!
