Hawks, I enjoyed the 24 hour! I watch the last three hours in the "Super Hilton" and enjoyed it. Andy is definitly "Da Man"

The world comes to Sebring for the 12 hour race on March 17th.  This is an ALMS race with the European LeMans cars coming over.  In recent years the classic Audi/Peugeot battles took place.  A few weeks ago Peugeot pulled out of racing so we won't have that great battle.


Grand Am resumes their season March 31st at Barber Motorsports Parkway in Birmingham for a 2 hour 45 minute race.  Barber is the course with the giant spider sculptures.

The big news in Grand Am this year is the super weekend at the Brickyard in July.  The Grand Am boys will run the road course and the Sprint Cup runs on Sunday.    

Of course you realize March is Super's Birthday!

                 Lets keep the gifts under $100.00 this year!

Hi all. I'm new to the CBS boards and have a love of two seat sports cars.

I posted this same message on another thread but thought it would be good to post it here as well.

Would be interested in knowing if there are any other sports car fans out there? Especially the two seat variety. And yes, I drive t two-seater as an every day driver.

Allow me to introduce myself.

I'm a male of an advanced age, Had my own import car business which I sold a number of years ago. Live in Colorado. Am not all that interested in NASCAR but am an avid member of SCCA and have been both a regional and national officer in years past (many years ago).

Would love to discuss sports cars, both past and present with anyone. Also sports car events - rally, racing, solo events, etc.

BTW - my name is Robert but friends call me RB or Rob.

Welcome two seater - Rob.  I started this thread a couple years ago to get people interested in sports car racing.  Mainly the ALMS and Grand Am Series.  A lot of people who hang out here will follow the big sports car races but NASCAR is the primary interest for most of the posters.


I don't think you can start a thread as an amateur, so feel free to tell us what series you like.  As soon as you can start a thread you can put one up like the Lizards Lair (my favorite ALMS - GT team) and post about the series' you follow.  A few of us will check in and follow your interest.


We have some guys who like F-1, IRL, USAC, dirt and the Australian V8 Supercars.

The American Le Mans Series is back.  Tomorrow is the 12 Hours of Sebring which begins at 10:30 am EDT.  I know there aren't many sports car fans out there but check out the start on ESPN3.com  No conflict with NASCAR or NCAA basketball.  They will finish in the dark at 10:30.


Check it out for a few minutes.

Ahhhh crap ..#45 Lizards car with a problem right after the start.

Not sure what happened to the #45.  I'll have to check out Jennifer's blog.  You know Andy Lally is racing in the #44 with Darren and Seth.

Sounds like he was wrecked by the #58 on the start.  Broken rear end.

#45 is back ..just looking for what points they can get now.

No I didn't know that about Andy being in the #44 ..too cool.

I still have it on ESPN3.com ..wasn't paying close attention tho, Seth in now and in 16th.

The Nurburgring 24 is on.  You can watch it on Audi TV and listen in English on Radio Le Mans.  The 14 mile track is amazing.
