I hate this NFL team, and here's why...

April 10, 2009 8:23 am

Before spygate, before the "Brady rule", it seemed people loved to hate the Patriots .  That's fine, we all have teams we dislike, but what was the reason back then?  It seems like spygate just added fuel to the fire of Pats haters.

I didn't hate the Pats at all before spygate.  After all, I thanked them for being such an easy SB opponent when we dismantled them 35-21 in the '97 SB.

What really gets me is:

1) That they cheated

2) That cheaters don't think they are good enough to win without cheating

3) That Goodell destroyed the tapes

4) Why would you destroy the tapes if there was nothing left to hide?

5) That those tapes automatically puts all the recent Patriot SB wins into question....did those tapes also show that the Pats cheated their way to winning those rings?  Is that why Goodell destroyed the tapes before anyone else got to see them?

I am convinced that the Steelers had the fix in on the last Super Bowl and I did not have a vested interest in the game either but anytime you can throw into triple coverage 4 times on the last drive of a game is a little suspisous?

Patsphanatiq,

What part of they were illegal FEDERALLY did you not understand.. since 1954 using streoids has been illegal inthe United States

What part of YOU ARE WRONG, don't YOU understand:

United States

The history of the U.S. legislation on anabolic steroids goes back to the late 1980s, when the U.S. Congress considered placing anabolic steroids under the Controlled Substances Act following the controversy over Ben Johnson's victory at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. During deliberations, the American Medical Association (AMA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) all opposed listing anabolic steroids as controlled substances, citing the fact that use of these hormones does not lead to the physical or psychological dependence required for such scheduling under the Controlled Substance Act. Nevertheless, anabolic steroids were added to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act in the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990. The same act also introduced more stringent controls with higher criminal penalties for offenses involving the illegal distribution of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone. By the early 1990s, after anabolic steroids were scheduled in the U.S., several pharmaceutical companies stopped manufacturing or marketing the products in the U.S., including Ciba, Searle, Syntex and others. In the Controlled Substances Act, anabolic steroids are defined to be any drug or hormonal substance chemically and pharmacologically related to testosterone (other than estrogens, progestins, and corticosteroids) that promote muscle growth. The act was amended by the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004, which added prohormones to the list of controlled substances, with effect from January 20, 2005.

Not when you are facing defensive backs, that with the exception of a few playoff games, routinely sucked all year.

As a Dolphins fan i should hate the Jets, but they are not that team.. i hate the Cowboys.. yes, i said it, i hate Dallas and not all of his players are in this list but his owner makes them the #1 hated team in the league.. his arrogance and hunger for being on the news, (even if it's bad news or should i say, especially bad news!), makes the Cowboys the team no one likes.. i remember when class act players like Aikman, Smith and Novacek were there, the new roster should review on and off the field behavior from these players and learn from them, not get their heads full of air and start drama just because their owner likes that!!

We already know whats on the tapes. The other teams signals. Of which are perfectly within the rules to get. The violation was for location. It never stops amazing me at how dumb you sound everytime you post the same dribble.

Not at all true, a pathetic excuse. It is a violation to tape the other teams signals. It had nothing at all to do with location.

Imo you are a poor quality NFL fan, and unfortunately every team has them.

You mean like someone pretending that where a camera was located was the only way a team cheat for 7 years and three fraudulent Championships?

Blaming your teams performance on conspiracy theory is sad at best.

Cheering your teams successful cheating for 7 years and 3 false championships if far worse than sad.

But you are a southie, so we don't expect something insightful from you.

I use to be a huge Cowboy's fan, and being from Arkansas, I should still be a fan, because they hav ealot of Arkansas ties.  But I am getting so sick of Jerry Jones who is slowly becoming Arthur B, the Raiders owner.  I am really sick and tired of the Cowboys acting like they should win the Super Bowl every year.  And come on Tony Romo is still yet to do anything, so why all the hype?

One more thing, Tony Romo will have a tough time this year without Terrell Owwens, people think he was a problem for Romo, but when a reciever draws as much attention as he does on the field, it makes any QB's job a lot easier.  Without T.O. there will be no double coverage, so get ready for Romo's picks to increase this year!  JJ better get Felix Jones more involved in the offense if he wants to win!

Seriously...I would rather have my zero championships than those 3 fraudulant ones.

I would expect nothing less than for pretentious pats fan to boast about their bogus WC's...and before you have a sissy fits pats fan...I know I probably spelled pretentious wrong.  But it would be just like you to notice that and point it out.

I didn't really hate Pats fans until this thread started...but since I have added them to my list.

I hate which ever team in the NFC East, is the biggest threat to the New York Giants.

Asking me which team I hate more, between the Dallas Cowboys and Philidelphia Eagles, is like asking a lactose intolerant person which they hate more, cheese or ice cream. The Washington Redskins haven't been a threat in a long time but I'm starting to have a 3-way tie here. I hate all three of them and wish the Giants could be the NFC East Champs every single year until I die.

You want reasons? Let me count the ways. I could be here all day talking about watching Donovan McNabb escape sack after sack, with me running around the front room, like I just lost a $1000 bet at OTB (Horse racing) by a nose. Or having to watch the Aikman, Irvin, Smith years of success in the 1990's. How the Cowboys are considered "America's Team" even though they havent won a playoff game since 1996. Listening to the travesty of having Troy Aikman call Giants games on TV. There are too many things to list so I will leave it at that.

 Cool thread Solomon~

I would say that hate is a strong word as well, we have enough of that on a daily basis all over the world. So I agree with a previous poster and will use the word Despise. Teams that I despise:

Browns and Bengals ~ When you are a Steelers fan, you just can't stand your division rivals. It is great watching the Steelers whip up on these two annual basement dwellers, and knowing that Big Ben is undefeated in Ohio makes it that much better.

Ravens ~ Our most bitter rival. Can't stand them. Mostly because of loud mouth Ray Lewis. This game is always a dog fight and you always take great satisfaction with a win against Baltimore.

Cowboys ~ Just because of the history between the franchises. That with the fact that I was in attendance for SB XXX and had to swallow the bitter pill of defeat makes it even worse. I have never been a fan of Jerry Jones and think of the way he discarded Tom Landry was classless. Loved seeing them lose at Heinz Field this year.

Patriots ~ No, it has nothing to do with "spygate" or jealousy, please. I just point blank do not like Belicheck or Brady. Period. Everyone claims that Belicheck is this marvelous genius, but do you all remember his stint as coach of the Browns? Or was that erased from the NFL history books?

Well what you just said, has ZERO credibility.

Cowboys win championships, and have Arkansas ties, that = johncranz being a Cowboys fan.

Cowboys compete and lose in playoffs, and STILL have Arkansas ties, that = johncranz Patriots fan

What the hell kind of fan are you? So you pretty much are a bandwagoner? What a pathetic loser. You are just like the Patriots. Sneaking around sports teams, until you find one that says "We won a title" and then you get on that wagon, and ride them till their glory runs out.

What a moron. You are no fan. You are a dumb***!

I HATE the Packers.... for a couple reasons.

Number 1-- they are the major division rival of the Chicago Bears, my favorite team.  I have lived in Chicago my whole life, and it is just in my blood to hate them.

Number 2-- I have had really bad experiences with some of their fans, and I am sure they will say the same thing about the Bears fans.  But, seriously, every time I come accross a Packers fan and am wearing something Bears related, they are unapproachable and flat out rude.  I would never just pick a fight with someone because they are wearing opposing teams hats or jerseys, but I cannot count how many times a Packers fan has done this to me, or someone I know.  Trust me, I never provoke it either.

Number 3- I have a summer home in Wisconsin (Door County) and one in the UP of Michigan.  I have Bears bumper stickers on my car.  I seriously get flicked off while driving through Wisconsin on the way to my summer homes.  WOW! How about that class? Someone will probably say, "you must be a bad driver or something."  No, that's not why.  I am pretty sure they are seeing the Bears bumper stickers and just being infantile about it because they will often have a Packers hat or jersey on and start pointing or tugging on them.  I know, once again, it is probably just bad luck, and there are probably a lot of classy Packers fans out there, but I have seriously run into all of the ridiculous ones.

Number 4-- the last 15 years of Bears vs. Packers has heavily favored the Packers.  It seems like they have beat up on my team for awhile.  Although lately, it seems like we are starting to win more and more games.

So yea, that is why I HATE the Packers.  But, I do have some respect for them.

Hey zagfan......I have no issue with the Boys acting like they should win the Super Bowl every year. I encourage it actually. You should be in it to win it all every year......as one highly eccentric coach once said,

"You play to win the game!" LOL!

I love it that the Cowboys harbor so much resent.....shows that they are still on top of the historical hill and fans still don't believe their teams measure up to them. The Cowboys are the proverbial measuring stick for all other teams...........

Yes, yes, oh yeh can you feel that buddy, huh, huh!!!

I hate the Philadelphia Eagles:

It is, without a doubt, the most disgusting city in all of Western Civilization. And the fans are just about par for the course. You could not envision a more bitter, depressing city full of ugly obnoxious people. It should be a prison like in "Escape from New York". And, in many ways, it is a prison. Philly makes Detroit look like Paris.

A few years ago and a Eagles/Redskins game (on Monday night no less) the police had to mace some philly fans for being too out of control. They make Dallas fans look fun, and they make Giants fans look like the epitome of sportsmanship.

Philly fans are a virus. Like SARs.

look at this thread most people dont cheer for the Cowboys

half america wants them to lose the other half wants them to win.. its not really half but yea... thats why they are on TV people watch mostly to cheer against but its only fun to cheer against a team when they are losing and that is slowly not becoming the cowboys... they do horrible in the playoffs.. where it really matters
