East West Shine Game - Stock up - Stock Down...

Figured I'd post a stock up and stock down on a couple of players...

STOCK UP:

Brandon Brooks OG Miami(O) - We saw him play in the fall - was wondering if he could play with larger competition- I think he answered that question

Shawn Loiseau LB Merrimack - Very active LB - can hit and has some closing speed - would he be better off in a 4-3 vs 3-4?  not sure - but the kid is a "football Player"  and I'd make roon for him

Matt Daneils S Duke - Kid can swat - made a bone head play on the on sides kick - besides that had a nice game

Jeff Adams OT Columbia - Had a good game - more than likely a RT only in the NFL.. You guys know I like these Ivy League kids

Kyle Wilber DL/OLB  Wake Forest - Hadn't seen him play - high motor

Julian Miller DL/OLB WVU - see Wilber

Cory Karkey TE UCLA - real nice blocking TE - I dont think they throw a ball to him - need to research

STOCK DOWN:

Matt Reynolds OT BYU - I think he'd be better suited to play inside at OG unfortunately we didn;t get to see him play there.

John Brantley QB Florida - Someone on here was talking him up - I didn;t see much at all from this kid

Nick Jean-Babtiste DT Baylor - Was a non factor - needs conditioning

Brandon Lindsey DE/OLB Pitt - showed next to nothing..  Was projected 2nd round pick at the start of the season...

Danny Persa QB Northwestern - did play much - horrible throws - not sure if he is still injured in some way - but looked aweful
more later.

BB,

Spot on, I agree with your riser and faller list.

2 more I wanna put into stock down: Quentin Saulsbury OC Mississippi State, Ryan MIller, OG, Colorado.

2 more I wanna put into stock up:  Ronnie Thorton, LB, S. Mississippi, Moe Petrus, OC, UConn.

Saulsbury was beaten like a red-headed step child, and Miller was a pylon. Thorton and his team-mate at. S. Mississippi, Cordaro Law, I think are worth taking a late flier on. Most don't agree with me, but I see Colbert pulling the trigger on an OLB. Harrison is 34 with back issues, Woodley is in his prime but hurt and nobody to step in an make plays. Jason Worilds, backup at best, I don't an NFL starter in him with his NFL stats in the Marv Thornburry category. Year 3 the light better come on.  Chris Carter is too light in the arse, and like Sly, they are only special teamers at this point.

Senior Bowl, really want to see Audie Cole, round three if he is there, pound the table and get someone not taking Geritol next to Timmons.

The Ravens are not allowed to lose to the Pats!!  I forbid it!!  Watching a Superbowl with the Patriots in it would make that day almost unbareable! Yell

I had to tape the game yesterday because I was working, then went to my wife's work Christmas Party (I know, they're weird!), but I'll watch it and get my thoughts together and share them.

This statement will only come once from me, hard to say this without coughing. I want Terrell Suggs to have the game of his career. I want Tammy on her back with that skirt stuffed so up far in the crack of the ass it looks like a thong.  I want him dirty, bloody, limping, and his block knocked off. I want that chit eating grin wiped right off of his baby face.  I want Ed Reed to have 2 pick sixes and Ray Lewis to hit Danny Woodhead so hard, Woodhead's dead relatives wince in pain.

As far as the NFC game, I do not want SF to get to 6 rings, and it is bad enough one whiny brother could be in the Super Bowl, I don't want stereo Merlot.

I think that's what I'm hoping for as well.  I would have no problem with the 49ers winning a 6th Superbowl, but I don't like Harbaugh either.  Ever since that incident in Detroit, I've wanted somebody to knock the crap out of him.  I would have LOVED to see Schwartz slug him that day!  And the thought of the media having two weeks to hype the Harbaugh vs Harbaugh angle sickens me!

While we're talking about Super Bowl matchups, I have to disagree about the Ravens getting into the Super Bowl. I'm sorry, but I just can't bring myself to support a division rival with a head coach I want to make smell dirt.

If it's any consolation, I want a rematch of Super Bowl XLII, down to the last detail except for venue and broadcasting station. Any other matchup and I probably couldn't bring myself to watch it, especially if the 49ers are involved.

I understand where you're coming from demo, but no matter how much I can't stand John Harbaugh and Ray Lewis as people, I respect how the Ravens play football.  They play the game the way its supposed to be played.  The Patriots are the anti-Christs of the NFL.  I have no respect for how they play the game...none.  I would root for the Dallas Cowboys over the Patriots!! To further extrapolate on Julian Miller, here is part of his Bio. He is 6-3 268, room to grow, but I am throwing out the pigeon hole protoypical Bullcrap we get stuck on. If a kid can play, LeBeau will find him a  spot.  I am taking him on the DL group, subject to either either be a 5 technique or an OLB.

Miller is a dependable, lunch-pail type defender West Virginia has recruited from all over the country over the past 20 years. His strength, athleticism, and versatility has allowed him to play outside early in his career in the Mountaineers' 3-3-5 and moving inside to play a three or four-technique spots as a senior.

The two-way All-Ohio pick as a senior redshirted in 2007, then earned two starts in the 13 games he played in his freshman year (21 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three pass break-ups). Miller was the full-time starter in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons, while being credited with 14 tackles for loss, nine sacks and three pass break-ups as both a sophomore and junior.

Though Miller is not elite in any one category on a scout's report, his ability to provide some pass rush while holding the point as a run defender gives him a chance to have a long career as a swing end at the next level.

This one is for Demo, working on a mock, 11 players in all. Three 7th rounders and 2 undrafteds, man it's a lot of work. Imagine Walter Football who is a one man show, puts out a 4 round mock on all 32 teams. Then you read his response forum, it's just plain pathetic how people, most likely younger adults, have no concept on how hard it is to get a mock somewhat logical. Every team you have to figure scheme, coaching, character, needs, and where they draft from. I gave some examaples earlier as to how under the Tomlin era there is a pattern.  They like the bigger conferrences in the first two rounds an almost always take a lineman. In round 4 they are looking for depth, in rounds 5-6 they focus on smaller schools. It sounds simple, but how many fans, even Steeler fans even get their strategy?

The Patriots are lowest form of fecal material in the NFL. I agree Mano, Harbawl and Epileptic Barney as people, totally hateable. But you cannot hate them as much as the Hooded Gnome and the Whiny Broad playing QB. Tammy is so lucky he plays in this era, had he played back in the 60-70's, Lambert, Butkus, Nitchke, and Lanier would have killed him, and he would not have gotten up.  Simpley put he cannot take a viscous hit, he folds up when the pocket collapses. Even Joe Montana was tougher than this girly girl. The rules are geared up to protect these pu$$ies.  Thier owner is a caniving manuplative f-wipe. If you handed him a 9 dollar bill, he would most likely have three 3's for change.

I would root for the Dallas Cowboys over the Patriots!!

I dunno about that one Mano. At least I had grown calloused to the Patriots' success which ended seven years ago (after Super Bowl XXXIX Bob Kraft may have broken a mirror in ecstacy). I see the Cowboys as irrelevant plebeians with an owner who knows a tenth as much about football as he does marketability, so if by strong luck they did find success under Jones I would loathe their guts as football's demons. The good news is Jones is middle of the road when it comes to drafting and cannot hire a head coach who's worth a damn since one of the stipulations has to be "willingness to allow Master Jones to fulfill his every whim."

I would agree, though, that any team besides the Cowboys or 49ers is a team I support without question against the Patriots. Which leads me to this point. My nightmare Super Bowl is Ravens-49ers. In that matchup my full support goes behind the Ravens, as there are way too many reasons for me to root against the 49ers in that case - head coach and right on our heels as a franchise with Lombardis being chief among them. Besides, if the Ravens win, it'll validate our rivalry with them even further (4 Super Bowls between us in the last 12 years), and I'll be happy for our resident Ravens fan from across the pond.

All feelings aside, I think it'll be 49ers-Patriots, which would not be much better.Yell

I'm working on mock drafts in private all the time and doing back research on prospects that way. I just don't post them because A) I'm not an ego-maniac, and B) I try not to form them all with "set" picks, which on paper would suggest lack of accuracy or carelessness, but I need to see all the possible, however unlikely, scenarios. For example, Andrew Luck is the only prospect who has remained consistent regardless of anything else - the Colts will pick him in April. Even though Matt Kalil is likely for the Rams, there's also Justin Blackmon and Morris Claiborne, both of whom would fill major needs themselves. Jeff Fisher is an old-school coach though, and his recent hire nearly cements Kalil to be a Ram, but anything can happen, including a trade. It only gets more jumbled up from there.

Point aside, this is probably another mistake by the Rams though. No QB except Steve McNair ever played well under Fisher, and the Rams confounded that situation by luring Brian Schottenheimer, master of offense who developed Mark Sanchez so well </sarcasm>, away from the Jets. It will be a tragedy if Sam Bradford ends up busting because of these turds who have no clue how to work with a QB. He has the potential to be one of the NFL's elite QBs, and always did have it.

Back to the topic, of course I look at every team's roster and go off knowledge based on what I saw from those teams over the course of the last season, and I've done enough research on each team's players' contract situations so that I'm not clueless in that regard either. For example, the Dolphins would be set at DE if not for the expiring contracts of Kendall Langford and Philip Merling, and Randy Starks is entering a contract year and will be 29 next offseason. Jared Odrick would step into the starting lineup if the Dolphins lose Langford, and should this happen they will have no DE depth. I could argue based on this knowledge that the Dolphins could pick a 3-4 DE at #8 and be ridiculed for that pick by the toilet bowls in the media and fans who don't know jack, but if Robert Griffin and all three of the top tackles are off the board, the Dolphins will be in a spot to add some unlikely talent or trade down.

I commend Walt for his efforts in forming mock drafts. I oftentimes find myself scoffing at who he gives us, but he's a neutral observer who would treat the Steelers like he would treat any other team. No one's perfect, especially when it comes to mock drafts.

BB,

Really tough to evaluate the nflpa astro turf game. At times they were interviewing people like Antonio Brown, but they would do so durring live action, very annoying.  THe MVP of the game was a Qb out of Tulsa, G J Kinne, develpmental kid, I doubt he gets drafted. Jacory Harris sucks, the QB out of the U. Out of the U, Brandon Washington is an OG, period, cannot play OT in the NFL. Solid, not dominant, maybe his best assett is his hand punch.  Tall WR out of Oregon, Lavasier Tueni, had a TD and almost another, he was on the line in the back of the end zone. He did have a drop, but the ball was behind him, still catchable though. CB out of New Mexico looks like a possible nickel back, Jarret Lee was benched vs. Bama because he also stinks too. QB out of Yale, he sucked too, Patrick Witt. Ft. Valley State Marquette King is a punter, who kicks it a mile in the air, hang time in the mid to upper 4 seconds to 5+, not sure about his directional skills or his inside the 20 kicks, but he had some real rainbows. The best CB in the game was Jonte Green out of New Mexico. Sean McGrath was the best TE on the field, kid id out of Eastern Illinois.

I have a few more notes, but I am having trouble finding the roster, I have numbers written down, like 56 black and 30 white.

At least the Super Bowl is watchable now, neither Nappa Valley Brother is in it. Ozzie Brings in a Lee Evans to make a big play in a big game and he drops it. But Cundiff, come on man, a chip shot FG and he shanks it. Not as bad as Scott Norwood, but close.
