Iron,

I still like Banks over Rhodes, watched both of them play. The SEC corners have to cover NFL talent.  David AMerson continues to disappoint, after the top ten hype. Started more or less with the Tenn game.

I feel like we need to look deeper for corners, don't think they will have good choices in round 1.

there can only be "so many" first rounders. Inevitably someone slips, a top 15 pick, based on teams gambling, reaching, or going with need over BPA.  That and everyone's board is different, see Jacksonville with Tyson Alualu and Seattle with Bruce Irvin.  This is how I see the VALUE of each position on draft day. This is an opinion off the top of my head, could things be shuffled up or down in the middle with some logic and debate, sure. Don't have the time, but I think NFL salaries might help us sort this out.

QB you are going nowhere without a good quaraterback
OT most quarterbacks get pressure off the edge from pass rushers, protect your biggest investment
OLB/DE pressure, pressure, pressure,
DT the middle of the front 7 needs to hold the point or push the pocket
WR they may be Diva's but they score the most TD's. points win games
CB look at the Jets without Revis, class this missed
OC/OC the middle of your OL must protect the center of the pocket and create running lanes
TE most teams now have two good ones, to create mismatches in the secondary or to chip pass rushing LB's
S need to play centerfiled, cover the TE, and blitz.
ILB- someone has to cover the TE or stop the RB, ocassional blitz
RB - You cannot be one dimensional, however it's been proven that a RB can be found in later rounds or undrafted.
K- Close game, you need someone reliable and accurrate.
P- they do not get drafted high very often, there was only one Ray Guy.

I alos like the breakdown.  However, even with TEs being used a lot more nowadays, I would drop them down 2 or 3 spots on your list.  Otherwise pretty much in agreement.

What up cancer crusher?

The top 3 on the breakdown I agree with and I think that they are true for every team in the league regarless of scheme or philosophy.

The rest of the list IMO changes drastically from team to team depending on what strengths they need to impose their scheme and philosophy on the opponent.

Just ny 2 cents.

Dion Sims was pretty damn impressive today (the last play notwithstanding). Man, he can carry defenders on his back and highpoint the football. If we didn't address any aspect of the offense in the first two rounds I wouldn't mind seeing him selected in the 3rd. And I'm not saying this thinking we need TE help necessarily, but just the fact that I think he'd be selection-worthy based on talent and potential (BPA). I was caught watching Bell on most running plays, but the few times I saw Sims block I thought he held up well and on one particular play really stuffed his man, planting him on the ground.

Stanford D is holding their own early on.

Now it is Notre Dame against the SEC champion most likely for the national championship. Go Dawgs.

Watched a good bit of College ball yesterday...  A lot of the Stanford vs Oregon game...

S. Taylor RB Stanford - If he lasts to the 3rd round...

S.  Skov LB Stanford - kid coming off an ACL (see S.Lee PSU- Cowboys)  he appears a half step slow and I contribute that to the injury - Another year of recovering....  I think you have your self a real nice ILB.  Good nose for the ball  He has to gain just a little more quickness...

Z. Ertz TE Stanford - I dont know any of the numbers on this kid - but like his hands and his ability to use his body to make catches.. need to see more...

Watched some of the Ohio St vs Wisconson game..

#10 - Ryan SHazier lb soph...  he's 226 lbs..  aint going to play LB in the NFL - kid to watch and maybe a convert to S in the NFL?  real nice player

and also....

#8 Allen Robinson WR soph - PSU - kid is a real nice prospect at WR

Sims - TE Mich state - Had a nice game also 5 catches 102 yards  might be a little slow

I'll post more later

enjoy,

bb

BB,

I caught part of that game as well and maybe you can remember which DE it was but the big white fella was in the backfield a lot, blew up a couple of shotgun draws. Looked strong coming off the line.

Gardner maybe?

Can't remember, alcohol induced amnesia...

I saw some of the action yesterday, a concern I have is on Star Lotulelei with the extra curricular crap, basically cost Utah the game, turned a stop and a FG attempt into a first and goal, ultimately a TD.  Leveon Bell, stuffed on the goal, repeatedly, basically stoned, I wonder how much of  his game is running trough holes as opposed to running through people.

I agree on Dion Sims, top end speed is not there, hate to admit it, I like Ertz better.

NY,

I watched a good bit of that Mich St game also..  I thought Bell's issue is more reading the hole  - He does get YAC - but his vision is suspect to me.  Monte Ball - on the other hand seems much more instinctive - sees the hole and goes.    Ball also got stopped late in the game vs Ohio State.

Either of these 2 will go too high to consider....  I'm thinknig S.Taylor slips to the 3rd...    Also there is a soph at Villanova I watched yesterday - needs to be on the watch list RB.. #2 - Cant remember his name.
