Any thoughts on Star Lotulelei at 17, asuming he clears the medical?
My guess is if he clears medically he will end up back in the top 10 or 15 but if he falls and his health checks out that would be an resounding yes.

I'm guessing Jets get Barkley, Rex can't pass up Mr. Hollywood, meanwhile the Bills and Marrone pick up his old college QB in Nassib. Arians will look for arm strength for his offense so Wilson and Bray are fits and I think both could be disasters in that system if they start too early. I'd pencil EJ Manuel in to Philly and when everyone realizes Chip Kelly's offense won't work he probably will flop there.

Supposedly Christine Michael overslept for 2 team interviews at the combine!! I know its a grueling long process this is only a once in a lifetime chance to impress you'd think you'd do anything you can to try your best and do your best in every facet of the combine.

Christine Michael just went from uncomfortible to undraftable. Listen, what will he miss team meatings, the team bus, the plane, lose his playbook. No F. Thanks, see ya mophuccer. I will pound the table to REMOVE him from our board.

Clark Judge (expert analyst on cbs sports) LOL, sure and Mel Kiper is an NFL GM...... he thinks Lotulelei's heart condition is very serious and teams will shy away.

Jarvis Jones, the top of Smell Diaper's board, failed his physical into USC, that is why he ended up in Georgia. I would not say he is off the board, just not worth the risk at 17, IMHO.

I agree 100%, no thank you to him and Jarvis, can't believe that Walter still has us picking this guy, everyone else is smart enough to pass on this kid, but us. Then he has Vacarro going next pick after us.....W-T-F!! Way too high of a pick to spend in which a guy could have his career end with every snap of the ball, in reality that can happen with anyone, but the probability increases with a medical condition like that.

Guys, I'm not too thrilled with the idea of drafting Vaccaro in the first round. He isn't the impact player we really need. Even though I don't think we need OLB that badly, I'd rather take someone like Ansah with a lot of potential if we can grab a player like that.

I'd rather draft Jonathan Cyprien in the 2nd.

A Steelers tatoo does not mean a great Steelers player. Miles is a late round pick at best for a reason.

Elam is not in our range. He's a fringe first rounder who will probably be gone before 48. And he'd be a reach at 17. Colbert isn't known for reaching. It's no big loss either.

Philip Thomas from Fresno State is a guy we should really be looking at.

And that's my rant on safeties. Tongue out

Would u trade #48 and next yrs #2 for #28 and draft Elam?  I think NE is hoping he falls to them so thats the team u need to jump.  So if Pitt came out of the 1st round w Jarvis Jones and Matt Elam I think thats an A+...thoughts?  Also, this is going on the team Dr giving Pitt the 100% ok to draft Jones.  If not, then how bout D. Moore and Elam?

I'd grade it closer to an F than A+. Jones has a huge red flag medically and Elam is not worth giving two 2nd round picks up for IMO.

I was looking at the combine results at Steelers Depot. One thing that stood out was the impressive 20yd shuttle results by defensive linemen were all under 4.6 for anyone under 290 lbs. Last year, Quintin Coples and Nick Perry were 4.78 and 4.66 respectively as first round picks. I think players are working out on more than just the 40 yd dash.

Cyprien I has increased his stock so much he's considered a fringe first rounder now. I wouldn't mind taking Bostic in the 2nd round.

SB, I stated if Jones was 100% cleared by the Dr's so the red flags would b green.  Also, Elam will b a stud so IMO hes worth the 2 2nd round picks.

Demo,

Were you following my lightening collaborative draft. I took Patterson and Cyprien in rounds 1, 2.  I think that is the thing, we need explosive players, is Vacarro one of those, not really, but Elam, closer to what we are talking about. Trading back, staying ahead of the Pastry Meats sounds pretty good. But Hoodie will probably make more than one move, if you want Elam, you better be picking low 20's.

Any thoughts on Xavier Rhodes at 17,  Mingo is explosive, but he's a wuss in the weight room. Both him and Montgomery not only took off plays, they took off games, that scares me.  Elam is moving up boards, Walter Football now has him at 22nd overall. It's funny how he has a big board, it was suggested to them in 2009 to have one.  Wink  For all the flack Walt gets, he is still better than Kiper or anything ESPN puts out based on resources. Walt is a 30 yr. PSU grad/Entrapeneur running his own sports site, by himself... that chithole in Bristol has endless resources and yet they still go bloats.

Cincy may grab Elam at 21.....that wouldnt be a good thing when they add Kirkpatrick back this yr.  They have a ton of $ so FA may show their hand a little bit.  I still think 17 is a good spot for Elam.  Guy is a future Pro Bowler for many yrs.

Oh I see now, my mistake.

I'd give still give it a B to C+ though but that is just because I am not a fan of trading away draft picks. My philosophy is the more picks the better, unless there is a guy you want to get that you just cannot pass up. But that is just me, I can understand your reasoning as well.

I haven't watched any of these videos so I can't validate them but they all probably have him in them in some capacity or another.

Demo, what do you think of Duke Williams from Nevada? Was that you or someone else I was thinking of that was real high on him.

Steelers claim John Parker Wilson. I had him mocked here back in 2009, likely competition for the 3rd QB.

Unless one of the top 3 LOT is there at 17 I think Cooper would be the best pick. With exception of Eifert everyother player rated around that level seams to have ???'s  ( Te'O, J.Jones, Elam, Mingo,Vaccaro,Ogletree, ect...)Trading back would be ideal but I dont think anyone is graded high enough for another team to want to move up.
What a bad year to have an earlyer pick.

ny, yes I was, I just wasn't commenting because everyone already said everything I was going to say. Props for each pick. Patterson is one of those guys that could develop into a premier receiver - he isn't there yet, but he's very gifted.

I also like Elam, don't get me wrong, but I'm not gonna reach for any one player and I wouldn't expect Colbert to do that either. Elam has been an early second round pick in every mock I've done lately.

I actually really like Rhodes. He has a really good natural skillset and great instincts. I liked him at least a year ago and thought he was the best CB in the country. He's arguably the second best CB in this class. That said, he doesn't have the greatest discipline, but at least he's not afraid of contact and is physical.

sb, it wasn't me who brought up Williams. That sounds like a guy beach or bb would have found.
