A healthy Celtics team would have won the finals in 19 games through the playoffs this year and you guys know it. But they didnt and thats that. But the Lakers were exactly the same team from the year we won bynum is not that good n ariza is a good defender but it doesnt matter he cant gurad everyone and the lakers are still soft. The Magic could have won that series if they were more experienced but again it is what it is.
The celtics are in better shape to win more titles than the lakers are. They have a better team already and then uf they add sheed well thats ridiculous, odom will go eat so much candy he wont be able to play. Also in terms of the future jkobe isnt that young guys he;s what 30? Ray Allen is a fa and probably will retire after this year so opening up a ton of cap room for a Fa class with bosh n wade. Rondo is becoming a great pg if he develops a shot then what will you guys do to defend him since kobe wont be able to roam around anymore.

Lakers are way better than the Celtics. We got the Best player on the planet. Lakers will even be better next season. Third season with about the same cast. Which means they'll play better as a team. Oh Yeah Artest is a big upgrade. Bynum will be much better also. 16th title next season. I think Lakers win 3 in a row and tie the all time record. But next season is a lock.

Ok I'll squash all this! How is it that Boston fans will use the excuse of KG being hurt for them not winning the championship? But when they beat the Lakers in the Finals with Bynum injured, Ariza being injured its all gravy! Anyway even though I am a fan of Rasheed Wallace I dont think he guarentees the Celtics the title. The biggest piece of the Celtics championship that they missed last season was James Posey. James Posey is a agile 6-10 forward that is good defender that can knock down the 20 ft jump shoot. No disrespect to Sheed he is not James Posey. You cant put Rasheed Wallace on Kobe Bryant like Boston did in the Finals last year. But on the real when you have those seasoned veterans like Boston has you need a reliable bench to give them rest. KG has to recover from this injury. Boston has NO bench! Big Baby, Leon Powe, Starbury, Eddie House. Thats why I say no championship. The Lakers have a young nucleus that is healty and have just replaced Ariza with Artest. You never know what the season has in store but healthy no one beats the Lakers!

Everyone on this thread, whether they're Lakers fan or Celtics fan, would do well to remember there are no guarantees at all in sports. There are 82 games to play before we even get to the playoffs and it's a long way before we even get to the regular season at this point. Trash talk is all well and good, but in July, it's kind of silly. lol
But when they beat the Lakers in the Finals with Bynum injured,Because Bynum is not the player Kevin Garnett is. He is Bostons best player, it would be more to the tune of you losing Kobe which would smash any hopes the Lakers have for a winning season, let alone a championship run right out the door. The difference here though is that Boston still won with backup players, albeit not a championship but still a playoff series and one of the top records in the east.
