Who is this guy? Does he know football at all? Seymour #1? Yeah, maybe 5 years ago...now, he's barely a top ten guy...and never been a fan of Freeney? See, a writer that shows his bias should not write for a national site. Plus, where are the 3-4 guys? Aaron Smith was ranked the #1 left end in the NFL by Lindy's magazine this year.
while i dont agree Seymore should of been the number 1 guy, he said it is because he is bias to 3-4 and Seymore is a good 3-4, now where i think he was WAY off base was Jason Taylor, he didnt look too good last year and was a bust of a trade for Washington and until he proves himself to me, i say he is NOT a top 10 pass rusher/defensive end, i put him far on the list now.
Aaron Smith will always be agreatly underrated defensive lineman. He doesn't get a lot of sacks (which always get the attention) but Steeler fans know how much Aaron Smith mean to the Steeler D, which is always ranked in the top 5. When Aaron Smith went down late in 2007 teams (including JAX in the playoffs) ran all over Pittsburgh. That didn't happen in 2008 b/c Aaron Smith the work-horse was healthy.
Aaron Smith is as good as Harrison, Polamalu, or Woodley, he just will never get the glory points.

Okay, that was immature. Anyways, I'm not a sports writer. I'm another anonymous name on their messages board that was invited to rank their top ten.
Beyond that, I know I would not pick another end in the league to lead a 3-4. He's got height, he's got weight, he's got enough speed. He's got a long reach to keep offensive linemen off linebackers. He can stuff the run. He can rush the passer, although he doesn't get to to the QB all that often. He can block passes. He can play any position on the offensive line.
Perhaps you wouldn't rank him #1, but surely, top ten.
Of course, if you disagree, please feel free to create your own list?
Now I'm not a Taylor fan but he is 2 years removed from League MVP you stated the fact, it was TWO YEARS AGO, last year he was supposed to come into Washington and cause a spark to the pass rush, but he failed BADLY!!! he wasnt even the leader of sacks for the Redskins, that was Andre Carter with a mere 4 sacks!!!! he had one good game as a Redskin, now i blame his bad year on a knee injury he suffered last year, but because of that bad season i dont consider him a top 10 defensive end until he plays like it again, now if this is top 10 defensive ends in history, then i will agree with Taylor being on this list........but overall Clovidx does do a good job ranking.
