Heres a link to the nfl.com story on Jason Campbell, looks like the guy is already getting his excuses lined up for a 2010 depature.Check out the video in the top right corner to see how NOT TO READ A DEFENSE

"There are still double-standards in this league for African-American quarterbacks. You have to be great to be good. And others who are half as good are considered great. That is not an excuse, that is a fact. I don't make excuses. I was raised to understand it is not always about you. You have to give respect to get respect. You have to work. I grew up in Taylorsville, Miss., where the village raised the family. What you did, someone saw it."Undecided

I think that Jason Campbell has handled this situation as well as any one could. Lets face it the Redskins front office has no respect or confiendence in there starting QB. If I were JC I would play this year and look to move on. Lets face it the Redskins front office is no brain trust and they have not managed the team well at all during there tenure here.

I would not be surprised to see JC benched by mid season or shortly after and some one else will be given a chance. I do not think all of our problems are at the QB position but hey we will all get to watch it play out. One thing is for sure, if the Skins do not make the playoffs JC is gone and most likely Zorn too. I guess we have another year of this and then we will see how much better we will be with a new QB and a new coach and the same Dan and Vinny running the front office. I am sure we will get above .500 as soon as Dan sells the team.

"In Taylorsville, Miss., where the village raised the family.   What you did, someone saw it."

Well, they sure as hell saw alot of poor reads and awful QB play.

If a black QB has to be great to be considered good, what do they consider a black QB who plays poorly like JC?

By Campbell's logic, for a black QB

Great=Good
Good=Average
Average=Poor
Poor=Career 3rd String/Out of the NFL

By my logic,

Campbell=Poor=Career 3rd String/Out of the NFL

If JCs play is poor, you need to also put favre and big ben in the equation too, being that JC had a better QB rating than the both of them.  Stupid logic you have, if you ask me!

Hog and Rootz did you even bother to read the article or just come on here and throw around your opinion on why jason is the second coming of joe montana. WE KNOW campbell is a lousy qb but he has always been a class act off the field that is until now, so sad to see him already making excuses before the season even begins, I may not like jason on the field but now im not so sure i like him off.

I came here to see what the excuse was.  It was more of a statement to me.  And I think you want a reason not to like JC.  Next Montana, no.  JC looks like Big Ben to me.  Big guy big arm, sneaky athletic.

rootz cuz,

sure Redskins qb for rent J. campbeltoe looks like big ben.....both of them are ugly dudes....but thats where it stops....sure as hell doesnt look like big ben on the field.

big ben is only 31 games above 500 for his career, while campbeltoe is 4 games below 500

in his entire career, the toe has 16 wins (ben had 15 in his first year)

needless to say ben has 2 rings.

P.S. there is a reason why the toe is in his final year of his contract while ben signed a 100 mil contract.

other than being 2 ugly dudes, these two have nothing in common

A few points

1. Who cares what Favre (or anyone else for that matter) did last year?   He's not our QB.

2. For the last time.  Can we please stop rewarding people for being "A Class Act" off the field?  I, and I'm sure most of you guys, treat people with respect and are law-abiding citizens in your everyday lives.  Should you be rewarded for what should be commonplace?  Hell No!  Campbell, and every other pro athlete for that matter, is payed a king's ransom to play in the NFL.  I don't think they should be given a bonus, or an "Atta Boy" for saying something respectful or not acting like a buffoon on their personal time.  If being a stand-up guy was the most important attribute in a QB, we'd all better head down to camp.

I'm not saying it's not important to be a decent human being.  Guys like Vick, PacMan, Tank Johnson, and the like, have no place in professional sports (are you listening Jerry Jones?), but I can't stand seeing a guy paraded out there year after year and not putting wins on the board.   "He threw 2 picks but he did it with class and he manned up in the post-game interview."   Great.  Give him a Bozo button with a gold star on it and send him on his way.

3.  For the system and WR excuse guys.  Enough already!  Yes, he had to learn a new offense multiple times.  Also, he doesn't have Jerry Rice and Art Monk out there at wideout.  So what?  Did any of you guys ever get a new job with a new boss who had his own way of doing things.  I did and he really didn't want to hear about how short-staffed we were or how we did things when so-and-so ran the show.  You are paid to perform.  If you can't, bring in the next guy.  We've given Campbell time and he hasn't done anything.  Why the support?  A bunch of so-called busts like Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Cade McNown, ... etc. didn't exactly have a bunch of Canton residents playing alongside them either.  They were all on teams with way less talent than we have and they still got cut after a couple of years.

4.  The definition of insanity:  "Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results."  If this year, Campbell doesn't show major improvements and he is still trotted out there next year, that is insanity."

I never said that JC is the next Montana, but, how is JC a lousy QB? How does a lousy QB have a better rating than SB winning QBs? I will be the 1st to say that JC is a AVERAGE QB, at this point. That has more to do with the constant system change. If you can't see that you are blind!

Big Ben had a SB ready team when he was drafted.  And Ben was passinig about 10-18 passes a game. Steelers have always been Def first, run second and pass last.  If JC was was the QB for the Steelers there would be no drop off.  The Steelers are one of the most stable and successful franchises in all of sports.  In comparison to our Redskins who have looked lack luster to say the least since Snyder has taken over.  So to compare the success of the two isnt close to fair.  Ben Rothlisberger had 4 more TDs than JC but 9 more ints.  JC threw more passes and still had about the same amount of yrds and a better passer rating.  And thats with a worse line, and less talent!

big ben is only 31 games above 500 for his careerHes also had a better team and ownership than us.  They draft for talent and find it.  Whens the last time we came out of a draft with more than 2 starters from it.  The Steelers do it all the time.

Quick question gagepark88,  when you started those jobs did they tell you "...by the way you web designers wont have internet access, your IT guy does not exsist, and half the people here dont belong in this line of work. Have fun!"  If you took that job you would be an idiot!  JC was drafted into that.  Lets get a first time coach, and not change the staff around.  WHO DOES THAT!  "This running game dosent work with this passing game but we'll work around that."  WHHHAAT!!!??  JC has shown improvement every year, EVERY YEAR!!

The definition of insanity:  "Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results."
This is one of the new dumb things I keep hearing.  Id say the Redskins changing OFF cordinators every year and sometimes in the middle of the season is the more insane thing.  I would love for them to find stability.  Because doing things repeatedly also builds structure, stability, and strength.

Stick to the topic guys. Why is our QB already pointing fingers in june?! JC has alot of balls to call anyone out in the organiztion whether that be his team mates or front office. With a less than impresive resume like campbells he should be kissing snyder and vinny s a$$ that he even still has a job. Campbell playing the old race card makes him sound like a bitter ignorant no talent that he is.

campbells he should be kissing snyder and vinny s a$$You mean like Clinton Portis does?  No one should kiss either one of these guys a$$!!  They combine to be the worst "GM" and owner besides the debacle that some call the Detroit Loins.  Ignorant would be you not realizing that African Americans make up the majority of players in the NFL( whens the last time you saw a white CB, Jason Seahorn?)  But how many are QBs, or coaches or even owners.  YOU not being able to see that side of his statement makes you a little ignorant in my book.  Him bringing attention to a situation is not making excuses.

Jason Campbell is a ignorant no talent who wants to play the race card to try to hide the fact he has acomplished very little in his career as the washington Redskins QB.In case jason hasnt noticed there is a african american in the white house,get over yourself and stop blaming others for your own shortcomings.Where are the latinos or asians crying foul on the nfl?Was timmy chang discredited as a qb beacuse he was asian or did he just suck? Reed doughty could make the same case his talent is on par with JC , he should go cry to the media he got benched because he is white. Jason openly "called out" his teamates by saying there other postitions ahead of me that NEED to be adressed, what a d*ck this guy is, he acts like he is some probowl qb that is capable of throwing 30 td s a year.

There ARE other positions that need addressing.  Everyone on this board has said that.  Just cause your not getting the response you wanted dont start crying.  Timmy Chang was a system QB.  He had a weak arm, telegraphed his throws, couldnt command a huddle, the list goes on.  And we go ahead and draft his twin in Colt Brennan.  Both Mannings have thrown thier teams under the bus before.  Peyton just threw his whold team undeer the bus, owner, coach and all.  You didnt see any stupid threads saying this guys a d!ck for doing so, is that because hes white?  I dont think so, Im just showing examples of how asinine this thread is.  Your reaching and its more than sad.  A latino was just drafted in the top 5 picks( Mark Sanchez ).  Other than him and Jeff Garcia who I think has been descriminated against, who is there?

Jason Campbell is an avg Qb at the worst.  And looking around the league there are maybe 3 or 4 Elite QBs, then maybe 4 that are a step down from there, 5-8 avg and then the bums that are filling in.  Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Breez, Kurt Warner would be the elite.  The next level would be Carson Palmer, Big Ben, and Philip Rivers, Matt Hasselbeck and Jay Cutler. Thats what 9 out of 32 teams.  I think JC falls just behind these guys in that 10 spot( Maybe Jeff Garcia) .  And stats wise hes even better than a couple in front of him.

Tom Brady has Randy Moss 6'4, Peyton has Reggie Wayne 6' and Dallas Clark 6'4, Breez has Shockey 6'5, Marques Colston 6'5 and Kurt Warner has the best tandum since Marvin-Wayne both over 6'2.  We have Santana Moss 5'10 and Cooley who is a beast so cant say anything bad about that guy.

Jason Campbell is a ignorant no talent I like how you call JC ignorant and a no talent while he is 1,000,000 times more talented then you or have you been in the NFL before?

And probably made more money last year then you have made in your life.

Crackerman you're just a hater and probably the most ignorant person on this board.
