Los Angeles Kings now in consideration for the former Canadien Alexei Kovalev. Beauchemin likely to follow Scuderi shortly with his decision on a contract (does NOT mean signing for the Kings, although it's a possibility).

The Kings seem to have a thing for old Canadiens in #27 sweaters, dating back to the good old days of Rich Chartraw.  BTW, any recent developments on the Saku Koivu front?  The local news media here (such as it is) is hours behind the goodies you're posting.  Having both Koivu brothers plus Martin Havlat would make Wild fans forget about Captain Groinpull in a hurry.

Cool... we'll take him. Maybe this is just the start of something good. Yesterday was Montreal and everybody else. Maybe today is our day.

Is there just nothing going on or did Kingfan make it a little awkward in here with the juices comment? Wink

Haha, don't worry about it Kingsfan. No one understands the scoring on this website.

DFENSE, I know you've received a lot of props for this forum already, but seriosuly.. way to go. Everyone here is more thankful than you know, and you should seriously get some sort of job in journalism or reporting. Great work!

As for me, I'm a die hard hawks fan, have been for years (ever since steve sullivan! haha)... Im deeply saddened that Havlat is no longer a blackhawk, and for all those Wild fans out there, you don't know how special of a player you are receiving. Marty is a genuine guy, I've met him personally on numerous accounts, one of the nicest players out there. Hes a true class act.

As for montreal fans.. ever since you booed the American National Anthem.. you have been a sour taste in my mouth.  I hope you the best thou, and you've done a great job so far this free agent signging.

King fans.. I love your team and I always have. I really am glad you got ROB SCUDERI.. and I hope you keep receiving a few more free agents this summer. I follow your team anytime I can.

No worries, got a little bored and needed some jokes. I get giddy too when my Stars are doing stuff. I just hope they are doing the right stuff. And who better to joke with than a division rival fan!

Go Stars!

CTB23 took the words out of my mouth.

D033 you got a blog you work with or anything?  You were on top of the signings all day yesterday.  Kudos.

I wish my Blues would DO SOMETHING, one back-up goaltender is not exactly a god offseason... maybe they are saving cash in order to sign all of the young up-and-coming guys like, Oshie, Perron, Berglund, and backes???   at least we will have a healthy E. Johnson, and Paul Kariya back this year... i would just like one big addition... offense or defense, that would be nice :(

I actually do not, although I've attempted to get jobs with several newspapers, online sites, NHL teams, and TV stations. I used to work radio a bit as well. Sorry for the delay guys, got caught up in something else. No new news to really report other than several teams have taken a liking to Sergei Zubov. Gustavsson remained noncommital to the Maple Leafs, according to GM Burke. Nothing from the Wild on Saku Koivu to date, and Dany Heatley remains a Senator, for now.

Where did D033 go. Did you pass out from providing the Bad-A coverage?

Boltbacker, the Blues have had their names in the mix of several free-agents, including Mike Cammalleri, but have come up short so far. I still expect them to make some low-key signings, much like the Kings.

Actually got wrapped up in some other activities for the moment. As much as I love the NHL, it's hard to maintain complete coverage all the time. Sorry. Smile

Oh, and Komisarek was introduced officially in Toronto, much to the liking of the Maple Leafs fans. Already seems to be a fan favorite.

Right now the biggest player in the Sergei Zubov sweepstakes appears to be the St. Louis Blues, however, it has been reported "numerous" teams have shown interest and contacted the defenseman. News from the Wild about Koivu: not as close as originally thought.

I would have loved a gy like cammaleri!!! i like him as a player and he can skate well, and is prodcutive!  or Vincent Lecavalier! but i doubt we could afford vinny, i wanted Havlat too but lost him to Minny.  Kovalev i dont think would fit in our system, but i guess there is still hope :)

Also, as TSN reported, Jordan Leopold has signed a 1-year, $1.75 million deal with the Florida Panthers.
