A healthy Celtic team is going to be an incredibly formidable team in the East. With the emergence of Rondo as a All-Star Caliber Point Guard this roster is even more star studded. Also, Rasheed whether he starts or not gives the Celtics bench a lift as he or Perkins will come off the bench, two very good players. Now a question for Celtic fans, did Rasheed take Big Baby's money, do the Celtics hae enough money to real him in as well?
Nice pick-up by the Celtics. It doesn't come as shock though, most people thought he was going to the Celtics. Big Baby probably thinks he deserves big time minutes and might not be too keen on resigning with a team who has Perkins, Garnett, and Wallace. I am guessing he will go where the money is.
Otis Smith has made two worth anything transactions as the Magic's GM during FA. One he outbid himself to the tune of 20 million dollars. In the other, he picked up a very solid 6th man.
And Lakers fans no longer have to hear it from Celtics fans talking about Artest disrupting team chemistry...
That eliminates another suitor for Grant Hill as well, making it more likely Hill plays in the Big Apple next year. The pieces of the 2009 free agent class are slowly falling into place.
Sheeeeeeeeeed.....thats a huge addition. If the Celtics can find a lock down defending SF/SG like Posey was, who isn't named Tony Allen, they will be very tough to beat every night.
Either way, they have to be favorites with the Lakers again.

Artest is on a different wavelength than even Sheed. Plus it helps that Sheed is very good friends with KG, who should keep him motivated and to knock off the technical BS a little bit.
This is a good pickup for the C's. IMO it would've been absolutely perfect for the Magic. They missed the boat here. The point is moot that it makes the Celtics older. They are going to try and squeeze 1 or 2 championships out of this bunch and build around Rondo and a decent center in Perkins.
The only moves Otis Smith makes are the ones where he's bidding against himself. Tat way, he cant lose. Remember when he outbid...himself...to get Rashard Lewis? Hell of a move.
