"#2) WES WELKER does not need moss.... coach b went and got him cause he was already a great receiver...crap, i'll take jabar gafney back over moss.."
This is easily the dumbest thing I've ever read in my life. In fact you need to appologize to whomever read it because we are all now a little bit dumber for just having read it.
Please run anything you wish to post by someone else first before embarrasing yourself further.
RANDY MOSS WILL PUT UP BETTER STATS THAN ANDRE JOHNSON...END OF STORY, I'LL BET ANYBODY ON HERE THAT THINKS OTHERWISE!!! by mid-season paper schaub will be gone anyway and Andre will be back in the middle of the pack like every other year and then you people will have to wait until next season and start the same arguement again....
ok, Randy Moss had a pretty decent season last year with Mr. "I havent started since high school" Cassell throwing him the ball. By the way, what happened when he had Brady throwing him the ball full time?
Steve Smith is living off his 2005 season? hmmmm, lets see, he had about 33 different QB's throwing him the ball 2 years ago, last year he missed 2 games and still put up good numbers. Could somebody tell me who Carolina's slot reciever is? And you think Muhammed is a legit number 2? That is a silly statement
Just curious, what is your definition of a steady decline ? Sure he "declined" to only 11 TDs last yr but any player would take that as a great yr, not a down yr. Also last time I checked, the yr before last he broke the all time single season TD record for WRs so he has plenty left in the tank and as long as Brady is around he'll stay on top for at least 2 or 3 more yrs. He is THEE most talented WR EVER hands down and he ain't finished yet !

Please visit if you feel so inclined.
he had about 33 different QB's throwing him the ball 2 years agoIf, by "about 33 different QB's" you actually mean three (David Carr, Jake Delhomme, and Matt Moore), then I guess you are correct.
last year he missed 2 games and still put up good numbersHe missed two games last year. Yes. And one the year before that and two in 2006. He missed virtually the entire season in 2004. I guess if your point is that he's fragile, then you've made it.
Could somebody tell me who Carolina's slot reciever is?To the best of my knowledge, Carolina does not run an offense that often employs a slot receiver, which makes this question less than meaningful.
And you think Muhammed is a legit number 2? That is a silly statement. You're honestly asking a Michigan State graduate if he thinks Muhsin Muhammad (a former Spartan) is a legit #2. Ignoring that fact for a moment and taking off my Spartan goggles, of course the answer is yes, Muhammad is a legitimate #2 receiver. He's 6'2" tall, has one 100+ catch season, two 1,000+ yard seasons (including a monster 1,405 in'04), one 10+ TD season (16, also in '04) He's not the best #2 WR in the NFL, but statistically he's certainly in the top 10. Off the top of my head, those I would probably put ahead of him are Boldin, Evans, and Welker. A case could be made for Royal, Walter, Holmes, Gonzalez, Moore, Driver, and Coles as well, but one could just as easily argue Muhammad ahead of any of them and back it up with stats. Let's just say that he's easily a top 10 #2 WR and leave this part of your message as a poorly thought-out statement most likely made in iritation from my first posting.
Look, I reassessed my list and opened the new thread to discuss Steve Smith further. If you'd like, I'd be happy to continue this discussion there. I willingly admit that I did not consider many of the intangibles that make Smith a very dangerous weapon on the football field when I first posted.
Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are no longer Top 10 WRs, sorry. You can all live in 2002 if you want. Not a bad year.Moss at least has an argument for being there considering his record breaking year was only 2 years ago. Suggesting Randy Moss is the reason why the VIkes and Pats had two of the best offenses in football history is laughable. Then why did Oakland have one of the worst offenses in football history when Moss played there? It is a team game. When he was on the Vikes in '98, Moss wasn't even the #1 WR on the team, Cris Carter was, and Wes Welker was an absolute key to the Patriot offense. Anyway, Moss is still maybe the #1 deep threat in the game, but if you were throwing the quick slant or the simple out, or dump off on the line of scrimmage, would you throw it to Moss or one of the other top WRs in the game? Not Moss.TO has been the most overrated player in the NFL for years. He puts up all his numbers against zone defenses. Most teams cover him one on one now and don't bother putting anyone over the top. Also, when was the last time he took a short pass and went the distance with it? Yeah, back to Philadelphia for that. He has not been a dangerous YAC WR for years. This list is full of contradictions and conundrums. It is supposedly based off actual accomplishments rather than potential, and yet Calvin Johnson is still high on the list. Whuh? How has Roddy White accomplished more than Greg Jennings or Wes Welker? Other than Moss, how have any of the WRs on the list accomplished more than Reggie Wayne? And character affects production. That's why Jerry Rice is by far #1 in production. You can't produce when you are getting suspended from games and disowned by teams.

Both are top 10, Moss is top 3 right now along with AJ and Fitz...however, one thing I am sure of is Moss will go down as the second greatest receiver of all time, and neither Fitz or AJ will ever come close to that...sure, if I'm building a team I would take Fitz or AJ, because they are younger, but Moss is one of the greatest to ever play, and I don't see anyone taking his number 2 spot for a long time...
OMG, there is nothing worse than debating with Pats fans...I think my eyes are about to bleed from reading this much garbage about Moss. Put Moss on a winning team with a good QB and he will have success. Get AJ a decent QB and he will make opponents cry. The Pats offense consists of THROWING THE BALL ON NEARLY EVERY DOWN! However, this is not entirely about hypotheticals. Stats absolutely show trends and injuries can greatly change the dynamic of a team...ANY team. As much as I dislike Randy Moss, he WILL be in the top 10 in several stat categories. He will NOT be #1 overall though. Since everyone is throwing their opinion out there, we do not have a defined set of criteria inwhich we are judging individuals on equally. This would be a very different list if you look at nothing other than the receiver himself. Stats are not just an individual effort and should only be used in arguments based on actual or potential production. And as a side note, Wes Welker being on any top receiver list makes me laugh!
bd8697-Brandon Marshall will NOT even be a factor this season with Kyle Orton throwing him the ball!!!!This is very true at the moment because ..... at this moment Chris Simms is set to be the starter he is beating out Kyle Orton for the Broncos starting QB slot. Marshall is a great WR with a poor attitude or atleast he makes poor decisions off the field but even if you just dont like the guy you all have to admit the guy is an elite WR and maybe just maybe after another great season he could be top 10 by this time next year remember they drafted Knowshawn Moreno and they will have a good running game once again wich will open up the wr's in the passing game.
