Thank You

I cannot agree with you more that the Cubs were over rated.

With all the money they are throwing at the players they should be running away with this division.

What a waste Milton Bradley has been.

It looks like Soto was a one year mirage.

Lets see when Dempster can come back.

Alfonso was a mistake from the beginning of his signing.

If the cubs do happen to back into the playoffs again this year I am expecting another 3 and out just like the past two years.

While I can't disagree with most of the things that you say (other than the Soto comment.  How can you make that statement when its only been half of a season after his FIRST MAJOR LEAGUE SEASON of his career?), I will point out that you are being such a typical, bitter White Sox fan.  The Cubs get all the attention in this town and the only thing you can do as a Sox fan is point out the faults in the Cubs organization.  Since when did it ever matter to Sox fans what the Cubs do?  How does it at all affect what the Sox do on a daily basis, other than the 6 times they meet each year?  And don't feed me this rivalry crap either.  Rivals face each other 16-18 times a year and it usually comes down to a division title (i.e. the Cards and Brewers for the Cubs, and Twins and Tigers for the Sox).  I'm sorry, but this whole Cubs/Sox rivalry in Chicago has got to stop.  Its pointless and quite annoying to hear each teams fans bash each other when it really shouldn't matter to anyone.  Cheer for your team and I'll cheer for mine

Hello. Not only did Soto play in the WBC this year; he also was on the DL earlier this year.  He is finally getting back to his form.  Leave him alone you jackass.  Everyone knows that the Bradley is overrated.  If you would have checked Soriano's numbers since moving down to the sixth spot, his hitting has improved.  The Cubs are in the middle of the Central.  We are not worried.  Now that Rami is back you will see these Cubs back to form.  Let me also say that in 2007 the Cubs were three games below .500.  What did they end up doing?  Winning the division you dumbass.  Before you make comments, check your facts.  Dempster fractured his toe.  Anyone can do it.  He has always jumped over that railing.  He it.  It happens.  Our starting pitching has been phenomal despite Z going on the DL and being suspened.  The team as the third best ERA in MLB.  Choke on that.

Lifelong Cubs fan here.  Soriano signing was bad only b/c of dollars - he has been productive, even if struggling right now.  Bradley signing was nearly as moronic as Todd Hundley in the not-too-distant past - not because MB was over the hill, but because the dollars are insane AND they thought the lefthanded bat was the only thing they needed to win it all.  As for pitching, the Cubs have had pitchers that looked like they had #1 stuff, but could never become #1 pitchers - that's coaching and managing (think Wood, Prior, Zambrano, Clement).  There is absolutely no excuse for a pitcher getting thrown out of a game more than once every few years - a manager just doesn't allow that.  In reality, a pitcher getting thrown out early is the equivalent of being on the 10 day DL.
Soto is way overrated - and the Cubs got too excited about him.  He's not the long term solution.  But that's the Cubs - Ramirez, DLee, and Soriano have no plate discipline, Zambrano has no discipline, Dempster & Lilly overachieved - none of these guys are long term solutions, but the Cubs wont ship them out.
It's frustrating - I personally appreciate an article that beats up on the Cubs for real facts, and not simply for sucking.
