Give him some time. Coulda tied one on last night. What a way to end a game! That was some claasic baseball and a terrific series. Aside from the first one, they were all nailbiters
I couldn't tell if they were booing him or just the situation. In Philly lots of times people think we're booing a player when really we're booing the fact that we're losing. Or not getting effort from our team that we know is better than that. I'm not a big booer, but I recognize there are many different types of boos.
I agree but he started that thread yesterday saying nobody should get booed and his own closer did last nightI went to bed ( end of the 8th ) last night thinking the Rockies would win ....
who'd a thunk that the Rockies closer would pull a Papelbon ?!?!
So you're rooting for a guy who plays on your own team to do bad? No, ive come to terms with the fact he is past his prime and now not on steroids. His presence is not what it used to be and has been one of our least clutchest players this year. And in the past couple months, hes putting up Andrew Jones-esque numbers. I boo his lack of effort and stupid smile everytime he strikes out with guys on base

NVM.....I thoughtyou were booing him in hope he does bad....
But Tenac, to be fair, you can't call a guy who's not a regular poster on this board out. He most likely would not have shown up anyways even if Street didn't blow the lead.
Sorry about the delay, was busy putting together a support group for young Mr. Papelbon whos obviously distraught about being abandoned by the fairweather Boston fans.
For you to even suggest that the situations are analogous is beyond mind-boggling.
Houston Street has been a member of the Rockies for about 4 minutes. At one time during his stay with our club, he was so putrid in the role that he was replaced in his role by the great Manny Corpas, a player whose impact as a baseball player is accurately depicted if one makes minor modifications to his surname. Street was given an opportunity to prove himself to the dedicated Rockies fans and choked it away last night. And thats why some Colorado fans opted to voice their displeasure.
Papelbon on the other hand is a true Boston stud. He had not been touched in the playoffs up until Sunday; he had not given up a run in the post-season in 27 straight scoreless innings and was only 6 short of Rivera's record. He helped the team win a championship in 07 and had never blown a crucial game for them at any point in October. And yet , confronted with his first failure in Game 3, the Fenway fans showed their true stripes by booing him. How classy.

I called him out because he spent all day on here yeserday running his fat mouth about how the Sox fans booed Paps and that it never happens to a Rockies player. Well it did last night and he is no where to be found just like after the 2007 World Series
