Well did it end up any different than any of you thought? They sure didnt show up for the Angel series now did they? Ain't no blaming Paps for that! The pitching sure didn't let them down it was the hitting as we all know.

What's in store for changes if any? Papi, nope. Lowell, hope not. Gonzo hope not, he solidified a rather pourous defense compared to past years. Buchy, you heard it here first from me, finally hope not, he's well on his way to proving his worth. Bay's gone not by choice, but because once again our front office did'nt want to pony up!! Now what about Dice K, now there's someone worth dangling to some team. Saito's been optioned to triple A as of today, he's gone, too old anyways. Tek retire please!!

It's obvious that we need hitting, but will a trade or free agency actually happen? According to Theo. changes MIGHT NOT be in order!! He might play out NEXT year until People like Papi and Lowell come off the books. I will guarantee that if that's the case the Sox will win between 85 to 90 games tops.

The pitching is in decent shape for next year only needing maybe a 5 starter that can last a full year, sorry Wake your time is up also. Bard needs to stay, along with the rest of the pen, minus Delcarmen. Wouldn't mind seeing Wagner one more year.

Long and short was I dissapointed, yes of course, but being a realist I knew inside we would not get past the Angel's.

Till next year Sox fans,  SlammerWink

Good to see you back on here slammer, and I cant believe what your saying about buchy what has happened? Have you seen the light lol?
To much money is invested in Dice K to move him in my opinion, however he seemed different after his DL stint so hopefully that goes into next year and he can return to his form of 2008.
I think 2010 will be a hard year for the sox but 2011 unless they make trades but then I again I dont see that happening.
On the series against the Angels bitterly disappointed in the 1st and 2nd games especially the hitting however the most annoying aspect was not closing out game 3.
Peace out!

Thanks Rangers..............I was surprised just how quiet this board has been even before they lost. Wanted to see if anyone felt like I did. I really don't hope that Theo decides to stay pat or even worse bottom feed like he did with Smoltz, Penny, Baldelli, and Bard. That aggrevates me more than anything. There is money and plenty of it, now go spend some Theo!! God man I should have his job...........LOL.Surprised

Mike Lowell and David Ortiz will be around next year. At this point who'd want Lowell with back problems and Ortiz may get away with a trade.
I heard that the Red Sox may use Jonathan Papelbon as trade bait for a strong bat.
Alex Gonzalez is not the answer at short but he'll be around also next year if the sox can re-negotiate the $6 million deal on the table now.
Theo is not one to pay high dollars for free agents. He's in the trade business. The Sox need another catcher. Jason Varitek may exercise his $3 million option to stick around. I don''t see any team signing him. People feel Jed Lowrie is an investment and will also be around. I feel he is injury prone and needs to be traded.
Jason Bay and Daisuke Matsuzaka will be around next year. I strongly think they will sign Bay.
Yes for the pitching you maybe right but they definately need relieve pitching and a right fielder who does not whine everyday.
it will be interesting what transpires at the winter meetings this year.
Theo may tip his hand on off season trades.

Its so sad watching our season come to an end like that.We had a 5-1 lead and a 6-4 lead.I made my way up to the game and of all of the Sox games I have been to they have never been so quiet as soon as the game ended.Everyone just walked out most were crying and the ones that werent were completely silent.

                                                                     LETS' GO Red Sox!
