Now a rumor is going around that maybe Danny Boy moves the Redskins to LA. I have got to wonder if that could actually be true.
He obvious doesn't care about the fans here, so upsetting them would be no big deal.
He is obessed with Tom Cruise and Hollywood stars as he flies them into the games.
He is not loved in DC and could try to start over with a new fan base.
I mean it's just a rumor and I doubt if it could be true but honestly you never know with this man.
LA has contacted 7 teams the Redskins were not one of them but that means nothing. Those teams by the way were the Raiders, Chargers, Vikings, 49ers, Jaguars, Rams and the Bills.
The Redskins will never leave DC, we have so much history here, if Dan even attempted to move the team away he would be quickly stopped by thousands of furious Redskins fans ready to take his head.
yeah, if the state of maryland falls into the atlantic ocean the Redskins might move to LA. but, to be honest my guess is they would move to oklahoma which is where the next NFL should be housed. how many times do the LA fans need to prove they won't support a football team?
I don't even want to think about this...because the season is dangerously close to playing out like the movie Major League...everyone in the NFL, all the anylysts...etc, are saying the same thing. "Why would you do that?" about all of the Redskins moves.
I too, don't think this would happen, because there would be a riot beyond recognition, you would see all the rich yuppies in Ashburn turn into a bunch of violent children throwing a temper tamtrum because someone is trying to steal there tennis racket...let alone what would happen in towns like D.C., Fairfax, Dumfries, etc.
But that being said, I too, think you can't take anything for granted when there is a Dan Snyder involved.
Oh yeah, in Major League, the Indians ended up winning didn't they? My bad.
Apologies... I can't believe I lost it earlier when calling in, but I started thinking about Chris Cooley's pre-injury interview where he said he wouldn't mind getting hurt and being on IR (and lost my cool).
There are only about a dozen players who deserve to be called Redskins (especially London Fletcher, Chris Samuels, Ladell Betts, Rock Cartwright), but as an entire team they're a disgrace to Redskins fans and the proud tradition of the Redskins organization. With the exception of the remaining regular season games after Sean Taylor was killed, all of which they won to make the playoffs, the team has shown no emotion on the field, playing like they're just going through the motions. Their lack of emotion drains mine, so I haven't even been able to watch an entire game for the past few years.
As a group, this current team is uncoachable. Many of the dozen or so players who uphold the Redskins tradition are nearing the end of their careers (they probably won't be in the NFL in 3 years), so now would be a good time to consider this proposal (we're trading the people in the organization, not the team). The only thing I disagree with is subjecting anyone else to the Snyder/Cerrato cancer.
Dan Snyder and Vinnie Cerrato deserve all the blame, as they are the ones responsible for who is on the team. All they care about is making money through marketing, where we now have everything except the "official Redskins toilet paper'. Snyder and Cerrato have made horrible errors for years, starting with the signing of Deon "Past My Prime Time", at the expense of losing Antonio Pierce, who was the 'coach on the field' for the defense. Then they signed Jeremiah Trotter, who played like he was a double-agent for the Eagles (pro-bowl before and after with the Eagles), and Jason Taylor's back to his Pro-Bowl level in Miami.
I wish we could make Jack Kent Cooke see what a mess he's left. ________
To salvage anything from this season, I believe that the Redskins need to go to a no-huddle offense. Maybe increasing the pace would get them in a rhythm which offenses need to be successful, although the lack of depth on the offensive line (only 8 drafted since 2000) greatly limits their options.
I doubt very seriously that the Redskins will move to L.A. because it would be a huge revenue cut for the organization. We all know that L.A. fans have never fully supported an NFL franchise and probably never will. Any team that decides to move there will go knowing that it will be a short stay. It will just be a matter of time before that team will be begging to get back into its original city or into another metro area. If L.A. wants an NFL team they need to push for an expansion team so that they won't screw any other team's fan base when they fail to support it.
