Anytime they play the NFL Films highlight video of that Super Bowl, I can't watch it either. I'll be the first to give credit to the Giants-- they simply outplayed the Patriots that day... but I can't help but be upset about how close the Patriots came to winning that game. Had they won, I don't think there is any doubt that they would have been billed as the greatest team in the history of the NFL. And it makes me wonder if the outcome would have been any different had the Giants not faced the Pats in the final week of the regular season and gone toe-to-toe with them-- perhaps their game planning would have been a little different. But the funny thing is, we can look back on it now and see just how weak or defense really was at the time, and how the offense had been covering for them that whole time. Maybe if that loss hadn't have happened, there wouldn't have been such a wholesale move to get younger and quicker (which I believe is a move that will keep the Pats a viable SB contender for the next several seasons). So in a strange way, I almost think that loss could end up benefiting the organization in the long run, just as perhaps having to play without Tom Brady did last season.
