Congrats Ravens Fans. It sounds like your team was better today. (Remember, I was traveling during the game and now, I am glad I missed it. Sounds like your D was phenomenal and I am here to eat my words. Good job. Hopefully we don't meet in the playoffs. I don't want to play you again.
The game was awesome, for me at least and the stadium was loud and rockin'!
My Denver Broncos loving wife was not so happy with the outcome, but then someone had to lose.
Well, at least it looks like Mattison made some adjustments and really brought some blitzes and confused and pressured Kyle Orton a lot.
"Doom" was not so destrcutive today and the O line of the Ravens pretty much owned the Broncos d line. They got some pressure, but nothing that Joe Flacco and the line could not adjust to.
We played a great game, we ran, passed and played great defense......We were able to run late in the game even when they expected it and still be effective. Flacco was awesome in the second half and I think at one point hit nine straight.
Nice game and nice adjustments over the bye.
I am pretty satisfied with the effort and the plays and coaching as well.
Good Luck to the Broncos the rest of the season....
At this point, it makes since to say the Broncos are better than the Colts. Because all but two of the teams they faced has at least a .500 record, no one else can say that.
Here's the problem - good luck getting any pressure on Kyle Orton and the Broncos. He has been sacked only 9 times and the offensive line including Ryan Clady are very talented.
Dude, there wasn't any problem getting to Orton! Did your Offense even show up today?
We had 7, thank you very much. You're right Trano. All trash talk aside, I'm sure most Ravens fans were as surprised about the game as you were. If you told me "79 total yards in the first half" I would have thought you meant just Marshall.
The Denver defense is the real deal. Baltimore had to flat out make plays (anybody see how high Clayton went up to get that one catch?). Hopefully Denver can bounce back next Monday at Mile High
Today's game was what we thought it would be, two good teams with one of them needing it more. The Ravens did everything right and need to keep it going next Sunday, play to win, not worry about the refs, and blitz Carson Palmer. This team can go to the playoffs even with the tough schedule ahead, the Ravens can win and have to win. No more 4th quarter meltdowns, missed field goals, stupid penalties and this team can do it, today we got off to a damn fine start!!!
I sure hope our defense remembers whatever they did differently from the first 6 games to prepare for the Denver game... They need to do that each week...
1. Is Willis McGahee hurt? he did not run with any intensity or drive at all. he seems to be either hurt or feels like he is no longer a part of the offense so he is not trying once again.
2. Did anyone else notice that Joe Flacco either did not vary the snap count in the 4th quarter or someone was stealing our signals because there were about 4 or 5 plays later in the 4th quarter that the Broncos d line was in our backfield almost taking the handoff.
Congrats to the Ravens fans that we had fun with this week. Your team played great and beat the Broncos on both sides of the line. This is the first game that Denver looked like it wasn't ready to play. The sack on the first play kind of set the tone for the first half and the KO return set the tone for the second half. We actually had some good football discussions and you guys are good fans. Good Luck and I hope we meet in the playoffs. All except Ravens1976 who only posted a couple of crappy posts, then came in after the game and started name calling. You're a tool.
You're right Trano. All trash talk aside, I'm sure most Ravens fans were as surprised about the game as you were
Yea, too bad Ravens1976 didn't understand that it was a joke. And maybe he didn't realize that the almighty Colts just slipped by a 49ers team that is still trying to find out who their quarterback is.
The teams that give the the Ravens trouble are the ones with QBs that can get the ball downfield. The 'Game Managers' don't do well against the Ravens.
And I'm not surprised that the Ravens did well against the Broncos defense and pass rush. As I pointed out earlier in this thread, the Ravens have 5 defensive starters that have played in Mike Nolan's defense. In an interview last week, Flacco even mentioned how the Ravens defense looked close to how the Broncos defense looks.
I agree for the most part Lex. I wasn't surprised by the win, I was surprised by certain aspects of the game though. For instance, the CBs actually knocked down passes without penalties and Marshall being held to 24 yards I think. That and the score, I didn't think the game would be that one sided all around.
