Since the Redskins are in Never Never land, or Snyder Cerrato World, what team will you, 'root' for since the Redskins will be home for Christmas. I'll still hope/root for the Redskinsbut have to be realistic. They ain't going to the playoffs. In times past one could say there new song is, "I'll be home for Christmas", but now with the playoffs after the holidays doesn't work as good. I have to say the Denver Broncos. Not given a chance with Josh McDaniel's being a new coach, along with all the problems related to Cutler being traded to Chicago, Brandon Marshall, still undefeated, and they are out of our division. If Denver is still undefeated when they play the Redskins, I hope the Redskins are the spoiler and gives them there 1st loss. As it was mentioned, they can at least play Spoiler. But I like Denver being the underdog from the start.
This is the problem I see right now; Redskins fans who aren't real Redskins fans and who give up on their team when times get tough. What happens if the Skins get their act together, pull out a few close wins here and there and suddenly find themselves sneaking in the playoffs at 8-8? Will you jump back on the Redskins bandwagon?
Here's how it goes. I'm a Redskins fan. On game day, I will wear my Redskins Mark Brunell #8 jersey (which I got at a thrift store; I refuse to pay for a jersey at retail to fill Dan Snyder's copious pockets). I will wear my Redskins cap and my Redskins jacket and sing the Redskins fight song whenever I see a Dallas Cowboys fan because I am a Redskins fan. I have always been a Redskins fan and I will always be a Redskins fan through thick and thin.
If that isn't your mentality, then I don't really consider you to be a Redskins fan, I consider you to be a Redskins groupie. And if you put your ticket on the Broncos bandwagon and they have a collapse like they did last season, missing the playoffs, will you then jump on another team's bandwagon?
Hey Mongo I agree with what you 'mean' 100%, I'm just being realist and trying to add something else. I am a die hard Redskin Fan and have been since 1970. I've got my Walt Rock, Larry Brown, Billy Kilmer jersey's and Redskin hats that came WAY before Snyder did and wearthem just like you, and a few other players as the dates go up. Go to the game every week and see the same thing hoping it will change. I go to out of town games and wear them too. Not all but scheduled for 4 this year, hoping they will turn it around. I hope as you do and have posted a topic before hoping the Skins turn it around. I JUST HAVE TO BE IN THE REAL AND NOW. They don't have a CHANCE to make the Playoffs. But each week comes around and I hope they find a way to win THIS YEAR, continue to root for them instead of them finding another way to lose. Now as what has unfolded hoping they can be a spoiler and maybe win another game this year. I hope it's one that has an unbeaten record or one that needs a win to get in the Playoffs. As for the Bronco's, I'll root for them to continue and hope they make it to the playoffs. They are NOT MY TEAM and won't be. But they are doing something nobody thought they could do and that is WINNING. Who knows, they might lose every game the rest of the year and the Skins WIN all there's. I can dream can't I. But glad to see there are some Die Hard fans that feel like you do.
Mongo I agree with you, I will still root for the Redskins every week no matter what. If it comes down to the redskins not being able to make the playoffs I will still root for them and I will root for any team playing the Cowboys. If our redskins can't make the playoffs I wouldn't mind seeing the Broncos take it all. I would also like to see Brett Favre do what everyone said couldn't be done and finally get off his back about coming back or retiring. The man plays a game that most of us would love to have the opportunity to play and he is now at a point where he is starting to realize he isn't the young buck he was when he played for the Falcons.
Now getting back to your point about the skins possibly being the spoiler wouldn't it be awesome if the redskins are the ones to give the broncos and the Saints their first loss. We could kind of turn the table on being the team who gave o'fer teams their first win to the team who gave undefeated teams their first loss.
I actually meant to direct my post at spike. I also agree with your point of view to mongo. Redskins fans need to be true to their team through thick and thin. I will always root for the redskins and any team playing the Cowboys.

I'm not a "REAL" fan because I call it like I see it: Skins suck. And, I'll spend the rest of this season hoping some underdog ruins someone else's season the way the Skins and Snyder have ruined mine.
I tell you what Mondo, when this so called "team" take to FedEx field with some heart and passion, some desire to win and prove people wrong instead of proving all the haters and nay-sayers right with every single play, then I'll cheer for them.
When they show up to a football game to play, then I'll cheer for them.
When they do a gut check, or realize they're grown men and stop acting like heartless gutless cowards on a playgroud, I'll cheer for them.
We as fans don't need to give up. This team has given up on itself.

Well ill still be watching every skins game even when we are 2-13 playing our final game of the year sitting on the edge of my couch screaming " campbell YOU DUMB MOTHERFU***!!!" But i have really taken a liking to the Cincy this year, Thats right the Bengals.Now There is a team that has suffered through some brutal seasons and here they are sitting at 5-2 atop the division, gota love the underdog. Another reason i really like the bengals this year is because they are PROOF of what a average team is capable of rising to when there FRANCHISE QB is healthy.

Jintsy... your mighty New York Football Giants, one year removed Super Bowl Champs, once again are getting beat by a winning team. They better show up second half. For some reason they don't look quite as good as when they play against losing teams. I don't want to hear all the blah blah blah about the Redskins, I know they suck.
Did it make me any less of a Redskins fan when I was rooting for the Cardinals to win the Super Bowl last year, or was pulling for them thru the playoffs? Of course not.
