I don’t really get the GoodFellas connection or how it pertains to OverratedGuys, but this picture make me feel much better about myself. I’m 26. Out of shape. Not a fighter and not really prone to getting upset. I also hate confrontations. I probably bench press somewhere between 45 and 90 pounds. However, with that being said, I will go on record and say that, besides Nolan Smith, I’m fairly certain that I could beat the hell out of every person on Duke’s basketball team. Or at the very least, I would have no reservations about at least giving it a whirl if they came in the stands and tried to get all Ron Artest-y on me. The collective intimidation factor of this year’s Duke basketball team is somewhere between a middle school volleyball team and the Teletubbies."
...yes, and the girls in North Carolina are regular high-society socialites.......ever been to Lumberton on a Friday night ?? There are women down there that can strike a match on their beard......and I'm not at all sure how the relative sophistication of our respective women has anything to do with the subject at hand.....

Seriously though, people from Kentucky really have no right insult the looks of anybody. You just don't. But carry on if it makes you feel better UK. Its nothing new to us from you guys since 1992 happened. You guys like your sour grapes dontcha? hahah
The photo is from the Theme of the Countdown to Craziness Midnight Madness. The theme was "Hollywood Blockbusters". It makes sense if you know Duke Basketball.
Our players don't look scary since they aren't a bunch of thugs and actual gangsters like your school has on roster. Those kind of guys can't get into our school. These kids on our squad might not kick your ass in an MMA ring, but they will beat your ass on the court. It's our game that's scary this year.
What is the infatuation? Kentucky fans can't get enough of Duke bashing these days. Every excuse to drag Duke into the mud on their boards, and they jump all over it. Trying to stir us up and get in the rivalry circle? We already have our rival, and they are actually on our level of competition. Kentucky isn't a contender outside of this year, and this year they aren't the favorite they think they are. Talk crap after you've won something and stayed off probation for a while. Until then, we can't take anything you say seriously.
Very well said Cunk. I too am wondering why UK fans feel the need to come on to our boards and talk trash. They have a very young team that if they don't win this year they are screwed because Wall, Bledsoe, and Cousins are all going to be one and done. So good luck to them. After this year they are going to be in the same place as they were last year. Losing 14 games and sitting in the middle of the pack in the SEC. Which is about the same as sitting on the very bottom of the ACC. So congrats UK enjoy this year, because next year you are going to get to hear all about why Duke is the best team in the nation and how their recruits/transfers are going to lead them to a NC.
Kentucky fans... Go find your own rivalry. This one is ours. I'd be embarrassed to be a UK fan right about now. A recently fired overrated drunk as a coach... a former coach committing adultry at the local restaurant & now hiring a used car salesman/magician that can make Final 4 appearances & entire seasons disappear with the wave of his hand. Oh, and let's not forget that your prize recruit is already suspended without even stepping foot on the court already... Curl up with a nice book (coloring book, of course) or pop in a good Ashley Judd movie (oops, sorry there aren't any) & go pick on that little red school down the road from you. Become relevant this decade & then we'll talk...
Since someone mentioned 1992 as the starting point to all of this hating from the Kentucky side, may I remind Wildcat fans of Pelphrey, Feldhaus, and Richie Farmer. Wow, those were some physically intimidating SOB's. What about The Artist Formerly Known as Saul Smith? Boy, I sure wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley (for fear he would molest me). Does it really matter if your team looks intimidating in their team poster? Remember Laettner stepping on Aminu Timberlake in that 1992 Elite 8 game? Certainly not something I condoned, but you didn't see Timberlake hop up and try to whip Laettner, did you? Cool down, Kentucky fans, and let's see what the season brings on court.

KatinTexas... Just for the record, we UNC fans look at the games against Duke as a rivalry & a measuring stick as to how we stack up against the nation's best. The games that we have against UK, we just look at as "tune ups" for the ACC schedule.

Kentucky fans just don't get it do you...You come on our walls to post worthless things because youve had one good recruiting class that is better than dukes....I dont konw what the deal is, do you kentucky fans think duke fans care about a team photo that might look weak??? No, and its gettin old that you guys are startin to think that kentucky is now dukes rival...we already got a rival in UNC that is always a strong matchup for us...Besides this year, your gonna be back down into the middle of the SEC consisted of, ummm, who??? i dont even konw what team is good in the sec anymore...remember what happened to florida? a good team two years and now they are back where they belong, in the NIT...So kentucky fans, enjoy this year for as long as it lasts as it may be your only good one for years to come...i hope duke plays kentucky in upcoming years just to see what duke would do to their sorry university
Not all Kentucky fans are as obnoxious or aggressive as I am, so don't use me as a proxy for anything. Consider me the "Larry David" of Kentucky fans..... I freely admit that I am "over the top" when it comes to this stuff.....(way out on the tails of the distribution for you Duke fans)....god help me.
Now I respect that Duke-UNC is a more relevant rivalry than UK would be versus either of them, no argument there, but to dismiss Kentucky as somehow "unworthy" of your company is laughable. The University of Kentucky mens basketball program bows its head to no one, certainly not Duke. There is no more storied or decorated program in any sport, at any level, than the UK mens basketball team. It has more wins than eith one of you, it has more NCAA Championships than either one of you, and it has a more passionate, more knowledgeable, more physically attractive fan base than either of you. So we'll have none of your false bravado....save that speech for UCLA or Kansas, we'll have none of it.
Did we make a horrible mistake with Gillespie....yes, obviously we did....but this is all new boys......this is what happens when fire meets gas......Calipari is every top 20 programs worst nightmare......just like Pitino in the early 90's, this guy has the recruiting and marketing ability to make every other program seem smaller.....for the first time in a while it is "cooler" to be a UK person than a UNC person....hipper, more progessive, more leading edge, "Dribble Drive", Wildcat Madness, DeMarcus, John, Eric, LeBron hangs around now.....so does Rajon, Drake, and friends......cool place to be.....lot's of street cred in royal blue these days......
The "John Walls" (and all the future John Walls to come) will become gods on earth for a year, and experience the absolutely unearthly world of a UK All American......think Beatles at Idlewood 1964......only bigger.....that is what awaits them, right before they become multi-millionaires in their surefire path to the NBA....not a bad deal really....hell, you'd do it.......and there will be a steady stream of them, one and dones...two and dones......for a long, long, time.........talent, coaching and fan support will not be an issue....nor will facilities, media, or tradition......this is a perfect storm.......

KatinTexas... Actually, UCLA is more decorated than UK... 10 > 7... It's basic math. Not to mention UK has won only 2 NCs since 1978. As for all-time wins, UK has 4 more wins than UNC...Wow... They are way out in front (please note huge sarcasm) & I've seen some mighty ugly women from Kentucky. Don't fool yourself... BTW, Ashley ain't gettin' any younger.
I really like the poster alot. I thought it was great as soon as I saw it. There are no fans on the planet that I hold in a lower regard than Kentucky fans...so if they hate something...I love it. If they love something...I hate it. This way of life has served me well so far...
The Blue Devils won tonight by the way and rumor has it that UNC lost a secret scrimmage against Vanderbilt. Who knows.
