First I hope all UK fans will bump this up for everyone to see and to read. I also expect that it will pretty much fall on deaf ears or eyes in this case since we have so many trolls as well as kids around here....or at least adults that act like they're 12 but just in case some of you are paying attention here are the facts.

UK does not cheat. John Calipari does not cheat. If either where true or became true. There would not be a University of Kentucky basketball program since so many people would love to see nothing better than for UK to get the death penalty from the NCAA. So listen up UK has to do it cleaner and better than anyone.....period. Bar none! That's why we have one of, (if not the best) compliance departments in the U.S. period. End of story.

Next is the top recruits issue. I don't care which program it is but for the sake of argument let's discuss the dynasty's. UCLA, IU, Kansas, UNC, and UK. There isn't a coach or team out there that wouldn't like to have five John Wall's. You say baggage.....I say he's a kid that made a mistake. Since when as a society to we give up on our kids....any kid! And I'd be willing to wager that there are quit a few of you on here that's made mistakes as well. Did everyone give up on you? Turn their back on you? Probably not or you wouldn't be where you are today.

"Let he without sin cast the first stone" Does that ring any bells for any of you? It's real easy to sit back and judge others. But I guarantee you that each and everyone of us here have made a mistake somewhere and at some point in our lives...if you haven't you're not living life or you're 12 years old on your momma's computer.

And before I get a bitter diatribe about Eddie Sutton or John Calipari you better do your homework. If you want to discuss the real crooks in this you have to first look at the NCAA itself. Not to mention the NBA's involvement as well as the AAU leagues. It's the scouts, coaches, and all the people around these kids that are just trying to make money off their skills and abilities that have made this what it is today. It's all about money. So ask yourself who you'd rather play for.....a man known for keeping it real and telling you the truth, as well as getting you ready for the next level, or some idiot that don't have a clue. And you can accept or deny it but if John Calipari was dirty or guilty of anything he'd never taken the UK job because he knew before he took it that he'd be inspected inside and out in everyway possible.

So worry about your own house.

Great post. I really could not have said it better myself. Kentucky is one of the premier schools in the country. We have a few down seasons here and there but what is considered "a down season" here would be considered a good or successful season anywhere else with a few exceptions. We are a program of excellence nothing less and set the standard. Go Cats!!!

Well said, and I completely agree.  I think most of what happens here is just cyber-trash talking.  Most people know that they can get away with it, not have to worry about any kind of face to face confrontation, and they take advantage of that and just bash, bash, bash on here.  Not the best way to go about trying to change someone's mind, but that's the world we live in....

One comment though, about the baggage....Any school that claims they did not pursue John Wall, or didn't want them on their team is simply lying.  He's lights out, phenomenal, and worth the scholarship....so far.  Still has a lot to prove, we can't forget that, but all signs point to him being an All-American for sure.
However, what about the Sydney kid that went to Miss. St. (i think).  He's suppose to be carrying a lot of baggage and risk, and I'm pretty sure UK and most other schools stayed away from him.  I know I don't have the inside scoop on the recruiting world like some of you on here do, but to my knowledge UK did it's best to not get mixed up in his drama.  So I might have to disagree with you on that point...while kids do make mistakes, sometimes you have to look at the big picture and pass on a kid that seems to be nothing but trouble.  One kid can take down your entire program if the right scandal or allegation takes place.  Just my opinion though.

Other than that, I say we sit back and watch our players/coaches do all the talking for us.  We haven't accomplished anything as of now, except for an exhibition win, so let's all get excited but also remember we've got a young team and a tough non-conference schedule coming up.

YEAH COACH CAL AND THE CATS!!!

mdupchurch you're exactly right and I started to mention that but got on a roll and ended up leaving it out as far as kids that really can bring a program to its knees. I'm pretty sure Sidney wasn't recruited by UK by Gillispie or his staff as well as Cal or his but a perfect example of that is "born ready" and all the drama that he brought to the table.

Lance Stephenson could have went pretty much anywhere he wanted had he not brought so much baggage with him. And as I recall after Xavier Henry finally committed to Kansas and Self withdrew his tenative offer to Stephenson, he called Calipari and was told thanks but no thanks before eventually signing with Cincinnati.

In the end it was too much for even Cal to want to tackle I guess. But I completely agree with you that all we can do is sit back and watch at this point.

I am a Duke fan, but I agree pretty much everything you said. Cal is a great coach, and Kentucky will be good for years to come. As for the Wall situation I would have loved for him to have come to Duke, and there were alot of other Duke fans who felt the same way. We could have used him with Henderson leaving, and Williams transferring but I think we still have a good team. Good luck this season!

Thanks BlueDevilBob and coming from a fan of one the most hated programs in the Country I know you understand exactly what I'm talking about here. I think coach K even addressed that a year or two ago that he didn't understand the hate or the contempt but it basically boils down to jealousy I think.

As far as John Wall anyone that says they wouldn't have liked to seen him in their teams uniform is pretty much full of it in my opinion. It's a nice change to discuss sports with adults and someone big enough to admit they'd like to have had him instead of the usual rethoric of our coach saw him as a problem and didn't recruit him lol, yeah right!

But kids make mistakes. We all do. But let one of these kids mess up and the first thing you see is someone making a big deal out of it because they can. Same cliche's "thug U." your coach is sleezy for recruiting that kid on and on.

In the end let the haters keep on hating and good luck this season as well!
