My top 25 Preseason Basketball picks:

1. Kansas - a veteran club + Xavier Henry

2. Michigan State - a veteran club, very solid

3. Kentucky - a talented team with Patrick Patterson.  Will John Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe and the other new members of the team be up to the challenge?

4. Villanova - another veteran club.  They could go all the way.

5. Texas - a very talented team with a great coach in Rick Barnes.

6. North Carolina - a great coach in Roy Williams.  You can't sell him short.

7. Purdue - a very talented team.

8. West Virginia - A very possible final four team. Coach wins whether you like him or not.

9. Duke - A talented team with a proven coach.

10. Butler - a senior laden team

11. Tennessee - a veteran team.  Will challenge Kentucky in the SEC

12. California - A very much weakened Pac-10.  They seem to be the quality team.

13. Connecticut - I wouldn't count out a Calhoun coached team.

14. Washington - They will challenge California

15. Ohio State

16. Michigan

17. Oklahoma

18. Mississippi State

19. Louisville - A Pitino coached team - enough said

20. Minnesota

21. Georgia Tech

22. Georgetown

23. Dayton

24. Clemson

25. Illinois

Others who could get in:

Oklahoma St, Siena, Maryland, Florida St., Syracuse, Florida, Virginia, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Xavier, UCLA, Gonzaga

What do you think?  Any disagreements?  I'm sure there are.

Lots of people won't agree, but Western Kentucky could find it's way into the top 25 before season's end.  They should have made it last season, and will have to work to prove themselves this season.  I do think they'll make it, though.

10. Butler - a senior laden teamLook out for Butler for the next two years. They actually have zero seniors that play significant minutes. All of their best players are sophmores and juniors. They will be good this year and scary good next season.

Keep your eyes on the Applachian Mountains!!  Seriously, it would not surprise me if Huggins and West Virginia make alot of noise.  He will be coaching a team with more of his recruits not the last coaches players.
