Give this a read guys and let me know what you think. I am a Razorback fan from afar and I come to at least 10+ Razorback sporting events a year from over 1,000 miles away.

I can't believe some of what I have been seeing.

Please read and any comments you can give are appreciated. I am the author.

Thanks

HogWild,

I can't tell you how EXCELLENT that article is that you wrote.  I can tell by your posts that you are a die-hard Razorbacker... that gives me comfort, knowing that there are still others out there.  I don't care if it is football, basketball, baseball or the booger-flicking team... they should ALL be supported EQUALLY.

I have followed the Razorbacks basketball team, just as much as their football team (even though I usually just post on the cfb board.)  I've been watching them since I was a kid, before the "May-Day" attack, through the championship with Corliss and Scotty, up to the present.  I always have faith that the Hogs basketball team will get it together again.  Unfortunately, the last game that I was able to attend was in '06 at the AAC in Dallas, when they played in the NCAA Tournament.  I took my late grandmother to that game.  I want to get back so VERY badly.  The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the fact that she's gone, and it will affect me, when going back (I know that may sound silly, but it's just a sentimental thing.)

If I lived in Arkansas (closer to Fayetteville, at that) I wouldn't miss ANY games of ANY sport.  Living in Texas, it isn't as easy.  However, I will get back to one.  That's for sure.  I wish all fans would realize just how important it is to get out, and support the Hogs.

Again, I want to let you know just how excellent that article is.  Job well done!

Very nice article there. I really hope our fans start supporting the Razorbacks on a consistent basis.  When they come down here, and play LSU I always attend decked out in my Razorback gear.  If i lived in Fayetteville I would be at every game hands down.  Even though its the middle of the football season you have to support the basketball team better than that.  I dont understand whats going on up there.  Hopefully down the road as the season progresses our attendance will get better, and better.  I will be looking forward to seeing them when they come down here.  Its always refreshing to see some fellow Razorback fans who made the trip, and the few that live down here with me.  I hope we get a better showing of fans down here this year, cause i know last year arkansas had the problems with the ice, and conditions limited some from making the trip.  Great article again bro, and keep up the good work.  Good to see you again too HogfaninTexas.

Nice article BDH. I wish I were within 2000 miles of Fayetteville so I could show up to the game with you. I was on campus during those top 5 attendance years, and cannot believe the numbers you are reporting.
I know the Hogs are going to be great this year and play the SEC the way they played the Big 12 last year. Coach Pel is the right guy for the job and the roster looks great. Personally, I wish there was a bigger body on there, but we need a 7 footer to win.
Go Hogs! and keep the articles coming BDH!

I"ve been reading your posts on bleacher and enjoy them.  I think the fans will be there later on.  Between the economy, football games, and the continual bad news about player behavior, the fans just have a bad taste right now.   Like always, winning fixes everything.  I'm a fan through thick and thin and would be there with my butt in a seat if I lived closer.  I made 2 games last year and I'm 8 hours away.

Hey guys thank you all for your comments. I will keep writing the articles if all you guys keep reading them Wink.

Love them Hogs.

I have a new South Carolina football wrap up coming tomorrow, then a Troy preview, followed by a Arkansas Basketball season opener coming up as well.

I am sure I will post them here and around for you all. Or you can always Google Razorback Rundown.

My latest article up right now is centered on Brandon Mitchell and his two-sport plan. Check it out,

Again thanks for all the positive feedback. Hopefully the Hogs keep it going on the field the rest of the season and then on the court as well. But you can bank I will keep bringing you articles on the Hogs no matter what.

You know the sad thing is, I attend a lot of Razorback foundation functions and local events around Northwest Arkansas and a lot of power players in the Razorback program (donors) are pleased with Petrino and think he is guiding the football program in the right direction, but when you bring up Pelphrey and the hoops squad, mum is the word!  The discussion quickly goes to only a few more weeks till baseball season!

I am afraid we will be in for another long coaches search at the end of the season if things don't improve drastically this season.  I like Pelphrey and hope he succeeds and appreciate the fact he is making these kids accountable for his actions.  But it appears not many fans have teh ability to ride the storm out, Richardson brought the hoops program down more then people want to acknowledge and Heath was even worse for the program and should of never been hired, but if a black coach wasn't hired the entire athletic program would of taken a massive hit!

The simple fact in watching this team practice there isn't a lot of talent but they do play with a lot of emotion that could carry them to some victories but lets keep it real for now, they are at best an NIT squad, tehy still need a couple of players to add to what is here and they could be a pretty good team soon.  I hope they give Pelphrey 2 more years, I am still a season ticket holder and give my tickets to people the games I can't go too as I officiate basketball a lot and miss many games.

by the way, the articles are great, keep up the good work.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I was made a featured columnist today covering Arkansas Basketball. I will continue to write on both the football and basketball team but my new focus is on the ball Hogs. I think I will have plenty to write about this year.

Follow me at Bleacher Report if you guys enjoy the articles and thanks again for the feedback.

Here is a link to the Hog BB page.

And I will take suggestions. If you think something should be getting coverage and is not hollar at me and I will do my best to get on it.

I feel guilty after reading this article, I live in Fayetteville and I have not went to a Basketball game this year yet.   I will go to one when i have time.   Time is the issue, I work full time and I am a full time student so getting the time and money to go, is an issue.  Plus they made student tickets in blocks and its just not a good system like buying one game, and its expensive to buy a block of tickets like the school offers now.   I have only went to one Football game this year because my schedule.  I had to be up for over 30 hrs straight to make it happen, was it worth it, hell yes!! I may not go to all the games but I do listen to every game, and my support is with them no matter what I am doing.
About Pel, I keep hearing if he does not do better this year he is going to be on the hot seat, I hope that is not the case, I believe all the suspension is him standing up to these players that he is not going to take inappropriate behavior, and crap from them.  I think given time, he is going to be an excellent recruiter and coach and we can look forward to the huge rivalries that have lost their luster in the SEC.
