Hermida is a lot like Darren Lewis from the Giants during the Bonds days. He won't make too many errors or blow too many plays, but don't expect him to be diving for too many balls either, hence the high fielding percentage.

Hermida is already a better hitter now that he got out of Florida's pitchers park and that batting coach named Jim Presley that our good hitters know to ignore.

ok bucky, like some others have said, there seems to be potential there. I am going to make it a point to have Positive Hype give me his 2 cents on the player when he hits the board tomorrow, just like if the Mets for example traded Daniel Murphy to the Sox, I would give you a little bit about what my personal observations were, either positive or negative. My opinion is that there is more to discuss than just shear numbers, and PH is our best resource for additional info and observations.

Good stuff Don. Is my memory correct in that Hermida came up big in several games while the Marlins were still in the hunt with late inning heroics??

reyes my friend, like I said, what I heard came from a writer that has watched him since he's come into the leagues and yes the potential was SUPPOSED to be there but for some reason he has not lived up to it.. Hence my line on him being a 25 hr. guy that has platooned to this day and never lived up to his hype.... also, his fielding isn't something to rave about and if he does play rf in Fenway he's running into a worse problem with all the rf horse crap down the line and covering right center with the way it's designed... I expect nothing from him and hope for the best bud'
once again, I HOPE he's just a reserve and not a low priced/ high reward player that Theo is putting in in case Bay doesn't sign and he switches over to Hermida being an everyday player... gosh noFrown
