It was only a matter of time before this happened to Bob Sanders.  I swear If I was a Colts fan I would be furious that he is still is on this roster.  This guy has been hyped up more then any player in NFL History next to Brian Bosworth.

Agreed.

He was a monster back in the one AFC Championship game at the dome...
If that guy ever plays, I have to imagine that whatever team signs him will write in their contract that he only gets paid during the part of the season he actually plays.  Wish I could get paid millions of dollars for doing next to nothing...

I'd rather have Sanders than Junior Seau, even if Bob only plays in a few games.

You knew what? Sanders would get hurt?? I hate to break it to ya but I think even Pete Prisco could have predicted this.

I am a Colts fan, and yeah its pretty frustrating. When he plays he is dominant, won defensive MVP and a super bowl. But to have him play is so rare.

It's almost to the point where its comical. like, sanders out for all off-season, training camp, pre-season, first 6 games, then first game back, has season ending injury. Hopefully the defense continues playing well without him, but he sure would have been nice to have.

not to mention Hayden, and Gonzalez. oh well, tis the life of a football fan. See you next week!!! Should be a great game.

I'm not sure how the comparison to Bosworth fits.  Sanders has played at an extremely high level for quite some time.  He won a defensive MVP and was an integral part of the Super Bowl winning team for the Colts.  Bosworth was hype, hype, and more hype, but Bob Sanders doesn't deserve to be compared to the Boz.  I'm just not sure where you are getting that Sanders is hyped up too much.

I never saw what some people saw in him. He can't cover, all hes good for is to come up to the line. Roman Harper is teh same player and have Darren Sharper back there is making him look real good. I digress, Bob Sanders is one of the most over-rated players in the nfl. He's constantly hurt.

Never like to see anyone get hurt.  Bob Sanders is a hard player and plays a bit past the whistle (like all football players should).  Sorry Colts fans, as a Patriots fan I know how much injuries can suck.

At least you still have Peyton Manning right?

Rushing yards against the Colts begs to differ.

I'm not sure how the comparison to Bosworth fits.It doesn't fit, but it's just one of the ignorant Patriots fans looking to provoke something so you just have to chuckle to yourself and move on lol.

What I do agree with is that this guy should have been traded when he came back. I was saying all along that when he came back we should trade him immediately becuase it was only a matter of time until he was hurt again. He is probably the best run defense saftey in football when he's not hurt (but also an average at best coverage safety) but the problem is he's always hurt. That's why someone would have likely risked a 3rd or 4th rounder for him which we should have taken in a heartbeat but now they won't do anything until they can see him next season. Which who knows if he'll even be ready for the opener in 2010. If I were a betting man I'd say he won't be.

Your right a bit much on that comment...but to say Sanders has played at a high level for quite some time is a bit much as well.  Playing in 0ver 10 games in only 2 of 7 seasons is not "playing at a high level"

Antoine Bethea  is a beast anyway so the Colts will be fine....I just despise Sanders thats all.

I'd rather have Sanders than Junior Seau, even if Bob only plays in a few games. If both are in their prime and healthy, then I'd take Seau. but Seau is a joke now so I somewhat have to agree.

The problem is Bob Sanders is hardly ever on the field, not that he has been hyped up BEYOND his playing ability.  Sanders is an incredible, hard-hitting safety.  Sanders and Polamalu are in the same mold - although Sanders is not quite the ballhawk that 'Malu is.  If healthy, I believe Sanders would be a yearly Pro Bowl selection.

Actually your DEAD WRONG.  Since you bring up Harrison  lets look at his career.  He played 15 seasons and he played in 12.4 games a year for 15 years.  He plays just as hard as Sanders and hits just as hard.  To be honest looking at these number Sanders doesn't even deserve to be in the same breath as Harrison.

See this is the hype I'm talking about....he has only twice played in over 6 games in a season.  Yeah great he hits hard awesome lets do it for a length of time before we crown him Ronnie Lott
