Unlike some, I don't think he's funny, entertaining, or good for the NFL. He's just plain dumb.
Here is some of what he had to say today:
1) Ike Taylor couldn't cover me if I was in a phone booth.
2) He was going to send the Steeler's defense mustard, but Marvin Lewis stopped him (apparently Marvin had no problem with him sending deodorant to the Raven's defense last week). I have no idea what the mustard was supposed to mean.
3) The NFL can't cover me, I'm uncoverable, last year was a fluke, etc etc etc etc etc....yawn.
I think the Steelers will use this as motivation. I don't think it will motivate them to cheap shot Ocho-A-Hole, but it will give them extra motivation to focus, execute, overcome, and leave it all out there on the field every play as if this were a playoff game. Given the fact that they were already extremely focused due to the huge nature of this game, I'd say Ocho-A-Hole may have just ensured a Steelers blowout.
It isn't going to effect the game at all. The Steelers were coming out on Sunday to kick butt anyways, they don't need any extra motivation. We lost to them when we shuld have beat them earlier so we are already motivated.
I think his stupid antics are b/c he didn't get enough attention as a child, is insecure, is dumb (after his deposition for fraud a year ago the attorney at the deposition said he was "as dumb as a soap dish" - not making it up), is narcissistic (which might explain why he punches coaches on his team at halftime of the only play-off game in the past 2 decades), thinks he's being clever and psyching out the defense or those who have to cover him b/c he's getting in their head so they'll focus on that instead of stopping him, thinks it will scare the opposition into trying to stop him rather than focusing on executing their game-plan. Bottom line: sorry, it's never worked and will never work on a team like the Steelers.
Bottom line is what he says and does usually just isn't very funny or entertaining. It's stuff a 12 year old would come up with.
Remember in '05 when after beating the Steelers he said the Steelers are like a black and white television, the AFC North from now on is run by the Bengals who are the color TV. Pretty much all the trash he talks he never has to be accountable for b/c he says he never meant anything by it....so nothing that comes out of his mouth means anything....so why are you talking then, to be dumb and foolish? Mission accomplished each week.
As for the endzone and first down celebrations, in the words of the Bengal's patriarch "act like you've been there before."
He and TJ shined their shoes with the terrible towel and wiped the crumbs off their face with the towel.
Yes, I am stirring the pot and don't really care this much.
1. Chad Ochocinco was also too stubborn to check Ike off the "who covered 85 list" in 2005 and 2006. He has never scored on Ike and averages around 50 yards a game on him.
Chad Ochocinco does this stuff all the time. I think it's hilarious. The mustard thing was clever. I don't know how you find this annoying and stupid. If you want annoying, go take a look at a picture of Hines Ward smiling. Even Steelers fan have to admit it's annoying.
This doesn't even need to be bulletin board material for our guys. We know what we need to do and Groucho Stinko couldn't get a rise out of anybody if he laced their Gatorade with Cialis. Let's get him in the slot and have James Harrison plant his azz in the turf like a lawn dart. That'll teach him to keep his mouth shut.
they are kind of funny sometimes but they are all pointless, Steelers need no motivation, all they will do is remember what happened in cincy for motivation
If you want annoying, go take a look at a picture of Hines Ward smiling. Even Steelers fan have to admit it's annoying.Only really when he messes up and still smiles, even then it's reinforcing that he isn't down on it. You guys see Ward smiling as we see Chad's antics (some of them).
The mustard is indeed clever, my problem is don't talk the talk against a team you don't walk the walk against.
Hines Ward is smiling because he was a superbowl MVP, flattens people who outwiegh him by 40 lbs., and is on his way to the HOF. I guess that would be annoying to a franchise that has yet to win a Championship.. I wish we had 20 more guys just like him on our team.
I'm not at all offended by Chad Johnson's antics. I happen to find them funny...they're usually clever and they're always harmless. NFL players do far worse both on and off the field.

sb -- I remember that. He made a big deal out of crossing off everyone else's name. Then, after the Steelers game, he was suspiciously quiet. I think I remember him pulling out one of the checklists later on in the season to cross off another name, and for some reason, Ike's name was crossed off. Guess he did it when no one was looking.

You're right, clutch. As a Steelers fan, nothing annoys me more than seeing Hines Ward smile. GRRRR I'm getting angry just thinking about that annoying casual display of genuine happiness from one of my all-time favorite players!! HOYA SMASH!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Guess he did it when no one was looking.Must be one of those things like when if a bear farts in the forest and there's no one else around to hear it, does it still make a sound?
I actually remember seeing the list in 2005 and it said Deshea Townsend for the Steelers, which may have been his reasoning so technically he was correct.
When they are winning alot of this stuff is clever, when they are losing it seems more disruptive.
