Take a look at our players, this team is pretty talented, and super young. We only have one senior and our star player (Higgins) is just a junior.
You gotta be pumped that they're playing Gonzaga, especialy so early in the year...this is when all the major teams get a reality bump in the head, and the Buffs are just the team to do it!
Bzdelik has this team going in the right direction.  This will be a pretty decent year, they have a good chance to come out their non-conference schedule, and into the Big 12 Conference games, at 9-3, or better.
No matter what happens this year, look out for next season! This team will be NCAA bound.

The one I still recall was when a reporter asked McKay what he thought about his team's execution that day, McKay's response was "I'm in favor of it."

I definitely see your point; but, I think Patton was more about the discipline and Bzdelik is more about the structure.  Both are rigid and about having it "their way," but Bzdelik seems more Hawk (calm, focused, and deadly) than Bulldog (angry, barking, and unyielding ).  It's all about the execution.

Also, while Patton had a great message and was certainly a decent recruiter, I think that Bzdelik's ties to the NBA gives him more of an appeal, and thus make Colorado more of a draw, for recruits, TV, and tournaments (the Buffs are going to the Maui Invitational this year & play Gonzaga in Round 1...which is a pretty big deal, other than the NIT Tip-off, probably the best seasonal tourney to get an invite to).

Don't get me wrong, we aren't going to turn into a Kansas type program, overnight; we have one Corey Higgins, and they have five (plus a bench more), but in basketball, it only takes one to turn a program around (remember Chauncey Biliups brought us to the NCAA).  It's how we capitalize after we get there, is going to be the key.

Higgins is the core, but the rest of the kids are very young & very raw, but they've pretty good, and I think we're going to see some surprising wins over some more storied programs, this year; but as one coach once said, "You don't beat people with surprises, you beat them with execution."--John McKay.

I think this year will be the beginning of the snowball...rolling down the mountain of snow.  We'll see

Our Buffs played well today vs. Gonzaga. I think we might have a team that can do some type of damage in the Big 12. Hopefully this will mean our team will possibly do big things in the future.

GO BUFFS! I like the direction were going!

but Bzdelik seems more Hawk Word to the wise, avoid using the term "Hawk" when trying to make an argument in favor of any CU coach, at least until Danny Boy produces a winning season.
