Well Courtney Fortson and Stefan Welsh are suspended for an indefinite amount of time, along with three others. Court and Stef were alleged in a rape off campus earlier in the offseason, but they charges were dropped aka they didn't do it. So why are they still suspended??? Pel runs a tight ship sure but we need them to get in a groove before the SEC season starts. If they were in a bad situation sure they deserve some punishment, but indefinitely COULD mean the whole season. If they didn't do what they were accused of doing then let them play.

Back to the point being with those guys all out, you can't take much from Arkansas' 30 point loss at Louisville earlier tonight. I like letting the newer guys play (Jemal Farmar and Marshawn Powell look to be studs), but we really need Stef and Court in the backcourt. Along with Rotnei Clarke those three could be the best three guard rotation in the SEC, with Farmar as a backup PG or 2 guard. Our frontcourt will be just fine with Powell and Washington, but without our two best guards on the floor it's going to be hard to judge this basketball team. I just hope they get on the court in time to mesh a little bit before the SEC season starts.

I agree. We had to play a good Cardinals team tonight with our backups. But you play with what you have. They showed heart, and those newcomers showed they can help the team. They don't need to be starters yet, and hopefully soon we get a lot of players back. But they can come in and be effective and will allow Pelphrey to force his style of play on teams as the season goes on with depth that he did not have a season ago. It is going to be hard for Arkansas fans to see this positive now after losing by 30 points. But they will see it before the season is over.

Court and Stef were alleged in a rape off campus earlier in the offseason, but they charges were dropped aka they didn't do it. So why are they still suspended??? I think the issue is that even if they didn't "do it", meaning rape the 18 year old freshman at the off campus party, they still let themselves get into a situation of being accused in the first place.  They have got to be more careful in how they act, and what they do with themselves.

Personally, I think there must be more to the suspension than the rape accusation for it to be indefinite.  If that was all there was, and with no charges being brought, I would think it would be suspension for a handful of games.  However, since it is indefinite, there has to be a bigger point he is trying to make.

I have gone to every game in Arkansas over the last three years and here is what i think of this year and beyond.  I sit just a few rows from the bench and i watched last year as Stefan shot three after three with about a 22% rate.  I saw him jawing at every opponent even if we were down 20.  I saw him not pass to Rotnei Clarke even if Rot had no one within 20 feet of him.  I saw him come out of the tunnel 30 minutes before tip off against Miss St and cheap shot one of the big men for Miss St as he was trying to get back into the locker room with his team - by the way the whole Miss St team saw the cheap shot and did not react to it like punks they just came out at game time and kicked our behinds.  Do I miss Welsh - heck no!!!!  As for Court, he has tremendous talent but a bad attitude.  If he comes back with a good attitude then this team will get much better.  I am very happy about the effort of the few that played against Louisville but losing by 30 and expecting punk Stefan or bad attitude Court to save the day is fruitless.  I love Powell and Farmer and hope that our freshman PG can learn from this year and make us a contender for the SEC next year.

I really thought they played good for 30 mins. against Louisville.  The defense broke down and Louisville went and got lay up after lay up after the middle of the second half.  I listened to Bobby Knight over ESPN and I agree they need to set some good screen for Rot to get better looks. He started heaving in traffic and got a few blocked.  I read that Fortson and Welsh probably should be back after 6 games, it would be good to add more depth and see what we are really made of. I think Nobles is a solid back up PG. He doesn't try to do too much. Also the low post players look to be dishing to eachother wich is a great sign. Powell was finishing his 3 point plays better than Samuels of Louisville. It's good to see we are recruiting better basketball players rather than just good athletes. Go Hogs!

I'm a big Razorback fan, but the BB Hogs will be pretty sorry this year.  Probably only going win 4 maybe 5 conference games.
I like Pelphery, but he's not going to get anything done this year.

After losing to Morgan State I'm starting to believe you guys. The Razorbacks are not very good. I don't care if this team was in the NCAA Tourney last year we have no buisiness losing to Morgan State at any time for any reason. Pelphrey is not letting his guys get better but instead he's content to let them embarass the entire state. This is getting ridiculous. Until Fortson is in the game for 40 minutes we're not going to have much of a chance to win anything. At the end of last season and with recruiting I thought this team could contend for an SEC Title and possibly a 1-4 seed in the NCAA tournament. Now it's looking like another 2-14 or whatever we went through last year. I like that John Pelphrey is trying to run a clean program but he's taking unecessary losses for it. I mean what in the world is the guy thinking?

guys look, it's not time to give up on Pephlery yet. there is some good young talent on this team. its still a tremendously young team that is going to take some growing to do. with a big amount of starters out you can't expect to win many games. I still believe the coach has what it takes to get this program back on the right track. it may not be this year or maybe even next year, but it's not time to bail on him yet. I would rather lose and have good players that have heart and want to play than National title contenders with bad attitude players any day. So yea suspending the players was the right thing to do. I understand fans want to win right now but i thing the long term future could be bright if Pelphery continues to recruit good players. One day we might be looking at the next Duke. you never know. I still have faith
