What we have learned about Memphis???

1. We are better than everyone said we would be.

2. Pastner can coach, I mean really coach, in a big game situation.

3. Pastner can motivate, and so can his assistants.

4. Memphis, and possibly Gonzaga, will probably end up ranked very soon based on how they played tonight.

5. Calipari still sucks...oh what...that's a little off topic...sorry!

6. memphis's bench is better than expected.

7. Elliot Williams was a godsend for Memphis.

8. Bill Self thinks we'll make the tourney again.

9. Next year we will be in good hands with Pastner and the incoming class.

I have learned that if it wasn't for that bone-headed goal tend, I would probably still be watching a great game instead of getting ready to start writing an ethics paper.Yell

Oh, and at least #1 in your post, if nothing else. Probably the rest, too, now that I think about it.

We've learned Tiger Dogger is back!

Pastner rallied the troops. Excellent display of coaching by the young gun. He gets 5 stars and a pat on the back from me.

WIZ!!!!

Go to see you're still out and about!

I'm back after a grueling three months of training several of my MMA and Taekwondo students. We have two new MMA title holders and I have two students ranked in the world top ten in Taekwondo. It was worth it, but I missed you guys!

Hope things are going well with you. How 'bout them Badgers?

Final fours tossed out:

Cal - 2 for 2

Pas - 0 for 0

Thanks for stucking up for Memphis, though. I've read some of your posts and you'd make a good Memphis fan, and you don't have to live in Memphis to be one.

Down by 2 15 seconds left the best play you can have in that situation is a contested 3 from a team that shot 6-22 from downtown? How is that good coaching?

Took my a while to come down from all the excitement from the game.  The Tigers gave it there all and left it all on the court.  Really shows how well prepared they were for this semi emotional game for some of our players.  Wow, Coach P did a great job in the game as well.  He managed the games like a pro.  Too bad we weren't able to close it out like I was hoping for.  One thing for sure is they weren't afraid of this huge game early in the season.  Just couldn't knock down the three ball in the end or the beginning for the matter.  I thought that we should have went to the basket with Elliot at the top of the key with 3.8 seconds left on the clock.  Instead, he decide to try and finish the game up by one.  I'm know coach but, I would say that Coach P knew that the foul trouble we were in would come back to hunt us in overtime and it could have gotten ugly.  So I guess he made the right call.  Congrats Kansas for making it out with the W on this one.  Hope to see you at the big dance for round three.

Go Tigers!

Pastner can coach.

We weren't even supposed to be in this game, remember? The way the media played it up, Memphis shouldn't even have come at all.

Well, Kansas may not have shown up, but Memphis did, and they came within a single shot of winning a game they were supposed to lose by 24 points.Smile

UK came within a single shot of losing a game they were supposed to win by 18. Without John Wall you would have lost. Embarassed

I'd still rather be us than you.Cool

Go Tigers!

You cannot call "moral victory" in a game you should have won

As mentioned in my previous message, after you look at where we with regard to players in foul trouble it may have been best to try and win it with the three ball.  Did you forget that we hit two big three's to get back within one point?  We had one player foul out and two more key players with four fouls.  I would much rather walk away with a two point loss than a possible 20 point rout in overtime.  Nice try on the not a good coach comment.  I'm not asking you to give our Coach a break, but you can give him a little credit for going the distance with the #1 team in the country.  Hopefully I was able to help you make sense of our Coaches logic a little.  Again, heck of a game!

Go Tigers!

Nobody thought we had a chance going in to that game.

We almost won a game we were supposed to lose.

You almost lost a game you were supposed to win.

I don't call this a moral victory.

I call it a sign that reports of Memphis's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
