Harris and his dad did not take their flight back from Georgia Tech and drove to the Tennessee game. It was reports on espnu they meet with the coaching staff after the game.

So looks like Harris is joining Pinkston and going to Tennessee.

If we can't have him, that is where I would prefer him to be. I do not want him at a BE rival.

Text is pasted below. Hopefully it comes out oky.

Tobias wrapped up his Georgia Tech visit early today and then made his way to Knoxville, Tennessee. He watched Tennessee dismantle UNC-Asheville by a score of 124-49.
"I just felt like watching them play and it was only two hours from Georgia Tech," the big man explained.
Harris, who has not returned home yet, says he still plans to sit down with his family and make his college decision. He shot down rumors that he had already committed to the Volunteers or that he was ready to commit.
"I was in Knoxville, but I am not committed to Tennessee. I still have to talk everything with my family."
I told him that rumors were circulating that he had chosen Tennessee and he simply stated, "No, that is not true."

He still plans to make his announcement Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU .

"No favorite yet," he said. "I'm still taking a final look at all the schools."

I asked him to tell me what stands out to him about each school on his final list:
- Syracuse: "The style of play and their facilities"
- Kentucky: "The fans and the atmosphere"
- Tennessee: "The passion of the coaches"
- Louisville: "The individual instruction and their work ethic"
- West Virginia: "Coach Huggins getting the best out of his guys"
- Maryland: "The campus and school itself"
- Georgia Tech: "The city of Atlanta and the school's academics"

Tobias Harris has turned down the opportunity to be part of the #1 recruiting class in the nation in order to take his show on the road to such hotbeds as Starkville, Tuscaloosa instead of NYC, Philadelphia...etc.

Congrats and good luck.

Look, Harris wants to be the man.  Let him go somewhere and be the man.  I may be in the minority but there are plenty of kids playing basketball and are not necessarily a 5 star bluechip.  Now, I think there is a stat that no team has won a NC without a McD's AA on the team.  Well, we have one.  It may not be this year, it may not be next year.  I think it will be next year.  Our seniors have talent but remember they all came in after a NIT performance whereas T Will and McGee and the rest like Harvey, Huffman, etc (remember them?!) came in after the Final Four.

I think Pitino's been burned more often than not on these ego-trippin' blue chips.  As he always says, "UofL is the best job in college basketball" and I would have to agree.  We are opening a new arena with no big-name sponsor, our facilities are better than most, and our Coach has his flaws...  These are all reasons why a recruit might turn us down.  Not to mention UofL is not even the flagship university of KENTUCKY.  I am a Card fan like the rest of us but I am a realist.

WE WILL BE FINE.

The college game is so different than it was 10 years ago when Pitino got here.  I think he wants at least 700 wins putting him at least 5 seasons similar to last year's team.  That means he is likely to have a few more recruiting classes including this one with Siva, Buckles, Marra, etc.  He will coach them up and I think will help Jurich whomever the AD is in finding his replacement.

sorry for the rant
