Harris and his dad did not take their flight back from Georgia Tech and drove to the Tennessee game. It was reports on espnu they meet with the coaching staff after the game.

So looks like Harris is joining Pinkston and going to Tennessee.

Kentucky will be really going after jones more since he said he will wait tell end of the year. Selby and knight had 4 of the 5 same schools as their last choices. So looks like kentucky will land one of them.

But kentucky needs Leslie or Jones or the power forward spot will be empty.

does that mean he has committed or just ended up going to a game and tennessee got to make a final push at him...
i dont see that as him signing because he isnt signing until the spring... i dont think there is anything to worry about yet there but if uk gets harris, nobody actually expects that so i see that as a steal... harris would fit well at UK though... could be a 4 man that pushes the ball and really spreads the floor for UK but we will see soon...

write it down Tru...

LexBlue tells you Harris is NOT going to Tennessee!!

He will lift a Louisville hat tonight on ESPNU

He said he wants to go to a respectable school that will allow him to play in an uptempo NBA style offense, focus on defense and allow him to play a point forward.

UT fits the bill except they dont play defense. UL seems to be the choice to me

JOhn Clay, a UK reporter blogged today.....

I just spoke to Tobias and he said it has been a long day and tomorrow will be even longer.

He has made his college choice and he says, "it's a weight lifted off my shoulders!"

He is looking forward to making his announcement and he hopes everyone will tune in to ESPNU tomorrow evening at 5:30 p.m. EST.

I just want to add a note that it has been a real pleasure to have the opportunity to get to know this young man. I hope all fans will be respectful of his decision and realize that he will be going to the school that is best for him. Keep in mind that he is a high school senior and has been challenged to make a decision that will change the course of his life. Let me add that you would be hard-pressed to find a nicer kid than Tobias.

I ask that everyone please be respectful and show class in supporting Tobias Harris as he announces his future tomorrow.

Now why would John Clay ask UK fans to be polite and respect the kids decision, if he was going to UK?? He wouldnt. But he would ask such a thing if Harris was going to our most hated rival.

Harris WANTS to be what Earl Clark was last year, a versatile point forward that goes in the first round of the NBA draft.

Congrats UL, Harris is a dominant player

What scares me is that Leslie looks more and more like he's considering NC State
Terrance Jones has multiple reports he's staying clode and Oregon and Washington are his leaders

So if Harris, Jones and Leslie arent coming to UK, then I am really worried about next year for my Cats

theres no doubt Tennessee has been the hot name, all RUMORS say he's going to Tennessee, but its all based on the fact he went to a basketball game on his way home from GTech, and then Pinkston backed out of signing. SOOO people have connected the dots...

I never said John Clay knew where Harris was going, nor do I think he knows, but I think he got a feeling it wasn't UK, thats all.

I said from the beginning of the recruiting for this guy, that he was UL bound, and until I see an orange T on his hat, I'll still believe UL had this guy all along, he was just enjoying the recruiting process.

Its all my opinion, and Im not saying I have anything other than a feeling, but I have really followed this recruiting class for a year now, and just like saying Barnes was UNC bound when all the signs pointed to Duke, I think Harris will be a cardinal.

I guess we'll all see in 5 hours!

Tobias Harris has made his college decision and will announce it at 6 p.m. Thursday on ESPNU.

“The decision has been made at 11:56 p.m. [Wednesday],” Torrel Harris wrote in a text. “The Tobias college world tour has ended. We appreciate all the great coaches who recruited Tobias.”

The 6-foot-8 Harris, a senior at Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West, will announce for one of the following schools: Syracuse, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisville, West Virginia, Maryland and Georgia Tech.

Harris and his father made a surprise stop at Tennessee on Tuesday night on their way back from the Georgia Tech visit.

“We made an unexpected visit to watch the game and congratulated the coach [Bruce Pearl] for his 100th win in the SEC and then we left,” Torrel said.

Tennessee routed UNC Asheville 124-49 for Pearl’s 100th win at the school. He became the second-fastest coach in school history to reach that mark.<!--more-->

Harris visited Maryland over the weekend and Georgia Tech from Sunday-Tuesday and was supposed to wrap things up there. Instead, he went back for another look at Tennessee. He had already taken his official there.

Combine this with the fact that Bishop Loughlin forward  JayVaughn Pinkston opted Wednesday to hold off on announcing – presumably for Tennessee — and it sure makes for some interesting developments.

Kimani Young of New Heights told me Pinkston simply wasn’t “100 percent” certain about his college choice and opted to wait. Makes sense.

At any rate, after seven visits Harris has decided based on a slew of factors his father mentioned:

A. Strong academics in my major (Entrepreneur/Sports Management)

B. The “feel” for the school, teammates, coaches

C. Winning program

D. Trust with coaches

E. Family within the team

F. Unselfishness of team players

G. Players’ coach

H. Program that Tobias wants to take to the next level

I. Top basketball schedule in the country

J. A team that will allow Tobias to be a point forward and plays an uptempo NBA style

K. School that’s well respected.

L. School that Tobias can make an immediate impact at

M. Coaches that can help push Tobias to improve his overall basketball game for the NBA

N. School that can help Tobias improve his defense for the next level.

O. Good student body

P. Good academic advisors

Stay tuned…

I don't think Pitino is getting harris now that he was in Flordia to offer this Juco a spot for 2010.

Central Florida Community College’s Ricardo Ratliffe is this week’s FCCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Ratliffe, a preseason NJCAA all-American, averaged 38.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.5 blocks in two games for the nation’s top-ranked Patriots. He opened the week with a 36-point, 11-rebound night against Hillsborough on November 10. Three days later, he was even better against the College of Coastal Georgia, scoring 40 points and pulling down 19 rebounds while hitting 17-of-23 field goal attempts. For the week, Ratliffe shot 75.0 percent (30-of-40) from the floor, 42.9 percent (3-of-7) on three-point attempts and 65.0 percent (13-of-20) from the free throw line."
Not real big on JUCO's but I like the size 238# 6'9" with a 320 bench

when I turned ESPNU on and saw Harris in a Orange under shirt, I knew I was wrong about him not going to UT.

Oh well, his mistake. I never thought he would be a CAT, but Tennessee???
