	Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano According to the New York Post, the Red Sox have asked the Atlanta Braves for medical records on their two top free agent relievers, Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano, who shared closing duties last season. The Red Sox, we can assume at this point, are not only looking to beef up their bullpen but perhaps are thinking about shoring up the set-up role. If free agent Billy Wagner does depart to close somewhere else, the Red Sox would probably want to replace him with a pretty good reliever with closing experience. Gonzalez and Soriano fit that bill.

	Both are real good pitchers. Soriano throws gas, and Gonzales throws hard from the left side with a wierd motion. Would be a great pick up for the Sox or any other team. I would think the Braves would want to hold on to one or both.

	The New York Post says a lot of things and once in a while they are even true. Don't give up anything for Gonzalez, he can go Saito on you in a heartbeat, but Soriano is a nice pitcher, though I think better suited to a setup role. The Sox have bigger needs right now then the bullpen however, so I doubt Theo is putting too many eggs in that basket.

	will the Red Sox's look to sign both or just one? quick note mike gonzalez just became a client of scott boras yesterday. good luck with that theo. i think both rafael soriano and mike gonzalez would be an upgrade over billy wagner. might be the sox's have something in the works with the Padres for Adrian Gonzalez that may include jonathan papplebon. ohhhh!!!!!!!!!! juciey rumor. good luck sox fans on what ever may transpire.
