Bama Defeated Jackson State Last night, wondering if anyone had any thought on the game? I listened to nearly the whole thing and it seems like this team plays with alot of heart, I think its going to be a tough season for us, but ill be right there pulling for my tide the whole time. We really lack a player who can put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket as well as a good spot up shooter. Any thoughts would be appreciated and RTR!

Well the teams play really hard, but there aren't many shooters besides Davis. Torrance does a decent job at the point but he gets out of control a good bit. As long as they play hard, we have a chance in most games even though our lack of size will definitely hurt us.

Win #2 against a solid Providence team appears to be impressive.  We shot poorly but still scored 84 points while holding Providence to 75 points and 37% FG.  I love our free throw %, low turnovers for the style of play, and the way we actually finished the game (all signs of being well coached and highly motivated).

I wish I could see a game, because it seems like our lack of size/height won't hurt us badly because we are running so much and forcing the tempo.  As I implied on another post though, what concerns me is the lack of a deep threat and ball handling.  But then again, maybe Torrance and Hillman can continue to improve in those areas.

I was at the game last night and we played really hard. Size wasn't a factor because their big guys were 6'8 like our guys. Davis has a nice looking shot so I hope he continues to put it up against Baylor even though he had a bad game last night. I was surprised Tony Mitchell played so little, but Grant definitely knows way more than I do. It was a decent crowd last night and it got pretty loud when the game was under 5 minutes. This was a promising win. Hopefully we will do some damage in the Old Spice Classic.
