Being a Slaton/Moats owner, last week was a relief...not having to deal with that situation.

This week, however, I must deal with the separating asshole**** that is the Texans' fantasy running back situation.

Here's my lineup right now for a non-PPR league:
QB: Philip Rivers @Den
RB: Adrian Peterson vs. Sea
RB: Knowshon Moreno vs. SD
RB/WR: Steve Slaton vs. Ten
WR: DeSean Jackson @Chi
WR: Derrick Mason vs. Ind
TE: Vernon Davis @GB
D/ST Bengals @Oak (great waiver pickup this week)
K: Mason Crosby vs. SF
BENCH:
QB Joe Flacco vs. Ind
RB Ryan Moats vs. Ten
RB Jamaal Charles vs. Pit
WR Austin Collie @Bal
TE Visanthe Shiancoe vs. Sea

HELP!
What do you think my lineup should be?  I welcome all input.
Obviously, Rivers, Peterson, Jackson, the Bengals and Crosby are definite starts.  Moreno and Mason are very likely starters for me, with the questions coming at the flex and maybe at TE.
Between Slaton, Moats, and Charles, what do you think?  Do I play it safe and not gamble on Houston, but gamble on Charles?  My gut says Slaton because I've stuck with him all year and he's done well for me.
And also, is Shiancoe worth a start over Davis?  Davis has been great but defenses are locking on him and Alex Smith can't throw.

Sorry this is so long, but thanks for your help!  Ratings and points will be awarded to replies!!

I would only make one change and that would be Visanthe.  Not just because I'm a Vikes fan, but the game against the Seahawks should be high scoring.  The Seahawks have trouble covering the TE.  Both teams will throw the ball.  Shiancoe should be good for 1 TD.  I'll be at the game and hope he finds the endzone.

Stay away from Jamaal Charles this week. He will not produce against the Steelers Defense, especially after they just lost to the Bengals again last week. I think Slaton is your best option at the flex position.

i am in the same situation with the Texans.  If you have to start one of them I would go with Slaton.  He's been a better receiver than running back this year, he's a homerun threat, and he's on the field for passing downs...but avoid it if you can, it's like the Broncos and the Olandis Gary/Mike Bell days...

I think in this situation - you should go with Steve Slaton vs. the Titans. It's partly because it's a monday nite - big stage & the Texans need him to perform. Ryan Moats is a backup RB & not much more. One good game vs a sorry Browns defense does not a starter make. Knowshon Moreno has been marginal most of the season - this will not change vs. a tough Steelers defense.

HOWEVER - this is coming from a Slaton owner - is it is of couse as much hope as prediction.

Also a Vernon Davis owner - & last week's pitiful perfomance certainly hurt - but I still like him over Visanthe Shiancoe because Davis is one of the few weapons that the 49ers have...and any player on the Vikings team is a second tier to the Adian Peterson show.

Good Luck

You have it right as is. Don't over think it. Your 2 Texans are better plays than Charles at Pit. Slaton is a better back than Moats. Play the percentages and stay with Slaton and Davis. I'm not a huge Davis fan because I feel he was a little over hyped after a few great games. In 2 weeks he went for a low end #1 to everyones top  3 TE. He's not, but I think SF plays well this week verse GB and in order for that to happen, Davis must be a big part of the offense. Leave your lineup as is!

The only change I would maybe do is take out VD and put in Visanthe Shiancoe . Mason is usually a solid pick unless your playing CLE and they decide to run the ball 90% of the game!

I would probably leave your lineup as is.  I would not play Charles against Pittsburgh - he will probably end up with less than 50 yards and no TD's, and I would not play Shiancoe over Davis.  I had Slaton and traded him because I did not want to deal with this situation.  Slaton did not do much vs. the Titans the first time around, but I would probably start him over Moats because of his receiving ability.  I would really like to see one more week after the bye to see what the rotation will be in Houston.  If you want to go out on a limb, start Collie.  Brandon Stokley always did well for the Colts against the Ravens and Collie plays his position.

Just noticed that Steve Slaton has gotten back his starting role vs the Titans on MNF (with 2 wks to prepare)
