That was a solid article, and Alford and Bowlsby do deserve a good chunk of the blame. Above everything else, I don't believe that all three of the players that transfered out were bad apples. I don't see any reason Kelly should have wanted to play for a smaller school when he could be the center piece of a B10 program. Peterson was the only playmaker we had. If Lick-less had ANY size or athleticism I could give him a pass. What I have seen this year can't be chalked up to not executing, all I see is lack of talent. I want to think Gatens and Tucker are solid, but I saw nothing, and even more importantly the offense doesn't allow any player to DO ANYTHING. I've seen Butler and other quality mid majors play, I can appreciate qulaity schemes with lesser talent. This is no scheme with minimal talent. No it isn't ALL on Lick, but all of last year's mutiny and this year's start is. If you can't keep the only talent from the prior regime, you just don't know what you're doing. Plain and simple. And yes, I do hope I eat these words, but I don't see it happening. And eburgfan, the Butler game you are referencing was against northwestern, that doesn't say much. That only proves the point that this offense belongs in the Mid Major conferences. NW is a mid major in the B10. They can put up some amazing games here and there, have a nice run, but in no way have they proven that they can hang through a whole B10 season.
