Tim Lincecum has been named the NL Cy Young award winner for the second straight year. The Giants are reporting on their flagship station that Lincecum will be announced as the winner this morning.
What a bunch of BS! Can't wait to see how the voting went. It wouldn't suprize me if Waino and Carp took votes from eachother to let Tim get the award. Don't get me wrong, Tim is a great pitcher but I believe Waino was better.
It just goes to show that there is nothing wrong with pot, michael phelps tokes on a bong and wins 8 gold medals in the Olympics, and now Tim Lincecum gets busted for possession and wins back to back cy young awards. i love pot, i am still a functioning member of society... LEGALIZE!
With no 20 game winner, and Carpenter missing 5 weeks of the season, voters probably felt Lincecum showed the most over the course of the entire season. What a great time to be a Giants fan, with Tim Lincecum and Pablo Sandoval as two of the brightest young players in the game.
Waino had the most 1st place votes with 12 but finished 3rd in the voting. Lincecum has 11 1st place votes. Carp and Wino def took votes from eachother, guaranteed.

Only 10 points separated the top three in one of the closest ballots in the award's history.
Lincecum received 11 first-place votes, 12 seconds and nine thirds for 100 points in balloting released Thursday by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter was next with 94 points and teammate Adam Wainwright finished third with 90 despite getting the most first-place votes with 12.
See what I mean? Had Waino or Carp gotten into a big slump near the end of the season then the other would have gotten it. Tim got lucky!
Congratulations to Freak. He most certainly did not get lucky. All three had more than enough on their season resumes to win the award, and the small gap in voting reflected that. I personally would've rather seen one of the Cardinals win it, but home team disappointment aside, I don't think I would've had a problem with any 1-2-3 combination they finished.
Let's not forget about Buster Posey either. Lincecum and Panda are proven MLB stars, Buster Posey should be able to develop without the media glare that he might otherwise have attracted to a formerly talent-poor team. But I agree, noone should be forgetting about Buster, he should be a solid piece in a contending team next season.
